bidexiii: Wars are not won like that. Numbers on paper don't mean sh*t when actual combat begins. Like in 1976, the Israelis would use the Arabs to mop the floor again. Same thing in the "6 day war". In 76, the numbers were stacked against Israel, men and equipment. The Israelis took on Egypt, Syria, Jordan, Lebanon, yet the Israelis still came out on top. 1 Like |

bidexiii:The battles will be tough but the war is Israels. In any case of War,israel can afford to upgrade all her weapons to their full capacity.Egypt also might pull some weighty stuffs, but in no time they would know why it's good to be a little bit independent. The israeli armed forces has an impressive arsenal. The jews are all over the world, and one of their main service to their nation is to return home to fight when their is war or send monies. Whats your take on Israel vs Iran.i actually thought by now shit would've happened between em two. |

The Premium Times which has proved itself to be unreliable/reliable in the past has an article stating that Nigeria and Russia have signed an MOU The MOU was signed between a Minister and the No2.of the Russian Embassy Areas to be covered include Agriculture, Defence and Farming. Defence will include Procurement and training the picture included was that of a T90,Logical assumption will include this to be a follow-up to the visit by the Defense Minister this year where agreement was reached for more procurement on Rocketry and Spare parts, this MOU most likely would include training for Tankers. It is being reported since yesterday that one of the largest mass surrender of recently recruited BH terrorists in the Lake Chad Axis has occurred to the Chadian authorities. Specific reasons for the surrender has not been given , however it is believed that Overwhelming pressure from the MNJTF could be one of the reasons, another reason could be the presence of the Nigerian Navy on Lake Chad as well as NN SBS personnel now stationed permanently in the area. |

bidexiii:War is not in the number but the tactics and doctrine deployed. *The Isaelis can deal with any threat. In a war scenario with Egypt, Israel will surely triumph because most of their equipments are locally built and are suited to their requirement. *They still get one of the best soldiers in the ME and can muster their citizens to fight....that's the loyalty that you can't find in Egypt. Most(if not ALL) Israelis went through military training and there's this lovea nd respect that every citizens displayed to their armed forces. *Israel is armed with Nukes(just incase everything is going south) *You're not also considering that Israel still get one of the finest Air Defense System to deal with threats from Low-Medium-High levels. *Israel IMO is the only country in the world that had a LIVE/ACTIVE battle testing station---palestine is the testing station for all their weapons, just like they used the few days war with Hamas to test the effectiveness, efficiency and efficacy of Iron Dome Batteries. *One other leverage is that the Israelis won't be importing ammunitions(except for extreme situations) unlike their egyptian counterpart(though they too had a running complex but not on par with the israelis) as their military industrial complex can sustain them in a war time. Egypt will give the Isrealis a good fight but Israel will give them a bloody nose. No one wants war because the citizens are the one that suffer most. 1 Like |

Egypt's military has failed to exploit its Western platforms, technology and combat doctrine and poses virtually no threat to Israel, a new study said. The study by Tel Aviv University's Jaffee Center for Strategic Studies asserted that Egypt's military continues to operate under the same Soviet combat and training doctrine as that during the 1973 Arab-Israeli war. Egypt fought the 1973 war with Soviet advisers and weapons. "It [Egypt] is an army that has changed its characteristics, from Eastern to Western platforms," Shlomo Brom, a senior researcher at the center, said. "But when you see how the army operates, there has been no change." Egypt, with a force of 450,000 soldiers, about 75 percent of whom comprise the ground forces, has largely replaced its Soviet arsenal with U.S. platforms and weapons. Egypt has an air force fleet of about 220 F-16s, 800 M1A1 main battle tanks, Apache attack helicopters and Hawk anti-aircraft batteries -- all procured since 1980. But the report said Egypt, which receives $1.3 billion in annual U.S. military aid, has failed to implement the Revolution in Military Affairs [RMA], meant to exploit the Western superiority in precision-guided weapons, intelligence and command and control. As a result, Egypt -- despite obtaining many of the same platforms acquired by Israel --has been unable to optimize its battlefield force. these are my own casualty figures ; I doubt if any sane Egyptian leader would attempt such move but you never can tell ...... Israel- 7000 dead, 20000 wounded. 300 tanks destroyed, 15 planes shot down. Egypt- 45000 dead, 120000 wounded. 800 tanks destroyed, practically any aircraft that took up shot down. |

Re: Battle Field Discussion (picture/video) Of African Military . by bidexiii: 3:57pm On Nov 13, 2016 |
giles14: Seriously.......you make me crack by ribs In the north east theatre only we have over 150 deployed MBT consisting of vickers,t72 and other forms of light wheeled and tracked tanks. Countries that are not up to Nigeria military and economy are buying t72s in large quantity, Uganda will soon boast of over 100units of t90s you are there saying 40+80 units of t90 & t72s is enough, are you only buying to fight BHT or for future eventuality. You are here on these thread and others and yet you say such words. Such procurement means we aren't learnt from our past mistakes and these is what is affecting us seriously are procurement power is very disappointing. And who told you UK MBT is not up to that amount, why must you compare yourself with UK. His UK fighting a war, does UK has the same population and land area as Nigeria. Mate that's a wrong comparison/yard stick to compare with. And I tell you we can afford it. 1 Like |

giles14: 240 T-90 MBT, that's what we need. 2.5 - 3 million per unit is not expensive. Especially when you consider the cost would be spread out over a number of years. The T-90 has proven it's strong mettle in Syria, going back to T-72s should not be an option for us. 1 Like |

Re: Battle Field Discussion (picture/video) Of African Military . by Nobody: 4:04pm On Nov 13, 2016 |
giles14: 1 billion dollars is small money, it's because our governments have proven to be utterly hopeless and useless over the years, that's why it seems like "small money", seems big. Spread 1 billion dollars over 5 years, tell me again that we can't afford that? What we need is 250 T-90s, then we completely retire all our old Tanks. Add 150 - 170 units of IFV. We buy IFVs from South-Africa, a plan that should include local build of 60% of the units. Again, you spread the cost. 1 Like |
