If a particular illness runs in your family, it is probably because the disease is genetic in nature. For example, there are families in which every woman develops breast cancer at a particular age. Scientists have found that certain genes are responsible for their tendency to have breast cancer. Angelina Jolie discovered that she has this gene and decided to go for a preventive double mastectomy in order to avoid it. She has also opted to adopt kids so she won't pass the genes to the next generation. Some families tend to have a lot of sicklers, and this is because of the sickle cell gene. The solution is for people from such families to marry people who don't have the gene at all. These are medical issues, and not spiritual. When you attribute medical issues to evil spirits, you prevent the victims from seeking the medical help that they need. How wicked!

If marital problems run in your family, it's probably because nobody in your family knows how a healthy marriage works. Almost everything you know about marriage comes from your parents, and you are likely to make the same mistakes that they did. The solution is to educate yourself on marriage from external sources like books, the Internet, etc and to make sure the partner you choose is very compatible with you and preferably comes from a healthy family. And to seek counseling from marriage counselors, not your pastor who may not know much. If both partners in a marriage come from broken homes, it's highly likely to fail, unless both of them work really really hard to make it work.

If financial problems run in your family, it's due to lack of financial knowledge and education. The solution is to break that cycle by getting educated in an economically viable profession (not Yoruba Studies) and being enterprising. Also, it would be foolish to make financial decisions based on your parents' advice if your parents are poor or financially illiterate. You need to have advisers who know more than they do.

If bad habits such as alcoholism, smoking or drug addiction run in your family, the solution is to never expose yourself to these vices. Never take a glass of wine. Never try cigarettes. Never try drugs. Never keep a friend who does any of these things. Never go to a party or night club where you will be pressured to try these things. Because you are likely to be more susceptible to addiction than most people. One sip of wine could place you on the path to ruin. So don't risk it! However, if the habit bothering you is masturbation, don't worry about it; it's normal.

The suggestion that any problem that runs in your family could be caused by imaginary "ancestral curses" is damaging because it distracts you from the real causes of your problems and the real solutions. It's not even biblical anyway, in my opinion.

do u know that there is a community where married women runs mad if he sleeps with other men.

Generational curses are real.

In some families, it is uncontrollable anger. Theft runs in some families. To some, it is late marriage (does it mean all the female and male in the family smell badly, illiterates and mannerless?). In some families, their men don't live beyond certain age.

There are many people today who are living under bondage that the sins of their forefathers has brought them under.

You remember the death of students in ALUU? Truth is that those guys (and their children) will pay for their sins. When that happens (perhaps through a deadly accident or strange illness), an atheist would most likely blame the poor health care facility or reckless driving.

Don't bother arguing, some things are beyond the physical and unless one believe the spiritual facet of life, it would be hard to understand all you've said.

Even if you won't believe in God's creation through Adam and Eve, and the curses placed on humanity, at least believe in something: maybe Karma, Give and Take Theory.

If you don't believe that, take a stone, throw it to the sky...and watch it come back to you. That's an elementary explanation. If you plant wheat, won't you and your children eat from it? So who will eat the evil you plant? god of atheist?

Why do you people forever run and hide behind irrational theories to explain the events of this world?

*Any Religion

*Ancestral curses

An example : If God exists or prayer works, Nigeria is the most spiritual and most God loving country in the world,
Why isn't Nigeria greater than the most sinful, most evil, most corrupt country in the world (USA)??

I have an even better example than the USA - China.

China is on the path to regaining the position that it held as the world's largest economy 200 years ago and yet China's Communist Party is a proudly atheist organization. The Chinese Communist Party's official stance on religion can be summarized as thus - religious belief and party membership are incompatible.

Even before the Communist party's introduction in China, the country had a history of maltreating xtians and Muslims - a trend that continues to this day. Why would the all-singing, all-dancing Abrahamic god allow for his sheep to be so mistreated and for their abusers to prosper as is the case with China? China has never been a xtian nation. China has never been an Islamic nation and yet it has prospered whilst the nations that claim those religions have faltered.

Can any of the many misguided Nigerian xtians or useless Islamists explain why China is succeeding where countries obsessed with religion such as Nigeria are not? A nation in which the states/FG waste money on pilgrimages; build pointless national mosques/ecumenical center(s) before building a national library in the capital; and have political leaders who ensure that they are 'snapped' praying and even waste time before meetings talking to the sky?

what of inability to conceive if the proper traditional rites are done in a family whereas other siblings and cousin are giving birth all because they got pregnant before performing the rites?
that was the observation in a certain family as well as their cousins. the females who believe in pregnancy after marriage plus traditional rites are having difficulty taking in...medically no problem. while those who maybe by mistake or whatever you call it got pregnant before marriage are still giving birth.
can you explain that?

Ancestral curses were inventions of the witch doctors of old
Pastors in Nigeria took it up where the witch doctors left off
as part of the diagnosis they use to rip people off

i support u.. why is that anything or any problem african (especially Nigeria) ministers/pastors cant solved they just mystified it?

if u really believe in Ancestral curses then i think u dont belong to the new testament christian based 2cor.5v17.

lets even look at it critically; WHAT DID OUR SO CALLED ANCESTORS DID THAT OTHER COUNTRIES/RACES/CONTINENTS ANCESTORS DIDNT DO MORE?

Check history/google; u find tht of all the races African ancestors did the lest of evils.

The Europeans or whites have been killing MILLIONS of humans since the days of the Macedonia empire (even earlier than that) or is it the Indians that even up today have more idols than the whole africa combined? or is it the Chinese?

Come our problem in africa is not Ancestral curses? but lack of application of upgraded knowledge.

let me give u some examples:-

they said ebola and HIV originated from africa; how come they didnt kill all our fore fathers? that means our ancestors had a medicine (maybe herbs) that cured them, why was that herbs not transferred from generations to generations.

but the white man discovered simple anti-biotics and due to his skills of knowledge transfers had transferred it via his generations and they are celebrated.

Mosquitos had been in africa for centuries yet we africans dont still have a good research institutes that can develop anti-malaria vaccins? is this still our so called fore fathers curses at work?

they are many??

today the world richest pastors are all black yet the world richest churches are white why? because instead of Joel Osteen that have one of the richest church in the world to take all the tithes/offerings alone he will prefer to use it to empower his members/communities whom inturn will empower others in future. but our own are all buying privates jets alone with it.
is it ancestor curses that say that?

instead of us sharing wealth with our community(e.g local church); our leaders(e.g pastors) take all the Lion share for themselves only?

is it our ancestral curses that stopped us from innovation in our culture;science;technology even religion ( why cant our churches open Library; research institute; mutual funds that will help her members grow in wealth; knowledge & capacity?

there is no ancestral curses anywhere its our ignorance thats our problem/mountain ... Hosea 4vs6

'Brainliant' ?? shocked shocked shocked... no wonder they are not making it. Brilliance, smartness or genius, whatever you call it, is just 1% of what is needed to excel, you have to put in remaining 99% into perspiring to succeed eg reading, hustling, networking etc
You have to put in work, many are talented but few become famous... is it from village curses too? Means before you come for the voice or project fame, you should visit your village undecided

An intelligent or brilliant student who fails to graduate from the university (Ever!), is either from a poor home with very little funding to complete such studies or that student is simply not intelligent!! End of discussion.

Bros!

Yes old things are passed away including your addictions and sicknessess.

Why then do people still struggle with those things except they enforce the word of God in their situations.

I dont know what church you go to.

But u need to understand that those things like "old things are passed away" have already been settled in heaven by God but you have to enforce it here on earth. You have a legal right to it because God has stamped it done in heaven.

Whatever you bind on earth shall have been bound in heaven.

So yes ppl stil struggle with ancestral curses. But because of ignorance of who they are in Christ and what he has done for them, they are still in captivity.

It's mathematically quite likely that some of those guys, or their children, or grandchildren, or great-grandchildren, will experience deadly accidents or strange illnesses. Bad things happen to everybody and the larger the group you're considering, the greater the likelihood that something bad will happen to at least one of them. 1 person may have 4 children, 16 grandchildren, and 64 great grandchildren, making 85 people. It is quite likely that at least one of these 85 people will experience something bad, but that's simply because, in life, shit happens.
The part about people in a family dying at a certain age for non-genetic reasons, I've experienced personally.
