True Justwise.

I personally feel a child will be whatever a child will be irrespective of where he/she is born. I am not an American citizen neither am I from a wealthy home but I have been really really fortunate with a lot of great opportunities.

However, it's great to give the child the opportunity to have a head start. Being an American (or Canadian) doesn't mean the child will be automatically successful... it just means your child will have things a little easier.

For instance, the child will have an option of getting a job in either country and if the child is a high flier, having dual citizenship is a plus because it takes the stress of applying for visas away which can make the child a more attractive candidate for several opportunities.

One of my American friends is struggling to see why we want our children to be Americans when she is tired of being American...haha.

That benefits that child more if he/she is a British citizen grin grin

Immigrants living in calais camp for yrs dying to enter the UK will disagree with you.

France offered they the opportunity to claim asylum they refused, they landed in Italy but refused to stay there and find their ways to calais camp .

The UK is still a member of EU, until we leave in 2-3yrs time then we will know the impact

Hello House,

DW is preparing for her departure to Yankee in December for child birth and we realized the need for change of intent letter because birthing was never in discussion during our interview. We have traveled before on two different occasions and there has never been any issue.

We like to write a letter as it forms a good basis for discussion at POE. Hence, I humbly request for a sample letter written by anyone here because I hate making avoidable mistakes.

You can send same to my email, tussmal@gmail.com.

Regards,
tussmal

It's already part 5? Wow!
I greet you all. Any Mama that gave birth, congratulations! Those with successful POE stories, I hail. My story is long both before and after I had my LO but lemme summarize:
My son, the Drs could not find out what was wrong with him. We ended up as part of research where they started giving him meds for TB wen when they could prove that he didn't have TB... you can imagine prenant me sliping into desperation and depression, till God decided to heal him. His mass started reducing and right now, it's a small lump. He's thriving

I had my LO at 40 weeks plus 3 days. I was already 4 cm dilated before labour started. In fact Dr wanted to induce me since the baby was really big on scan. Well he came out 9 pounds and unresponsive... but God still had my back. As I type, he's with my mum because my boobs are screaming for Mercy. He is thriving!
I had refused hearing test and circumcision o. I did the hearing test myself (flushed toilet in hospital startled him sef) circumcision was done back home.

A few days or so after giving birth, I had something that looked like rashes. Saw a Dr in Houston and he didn't know what it was, second Dr used the words weird and strange to describe it... within 2 weeks my body was covered with itchy stuff that looked like a horror movie. I alternated between crying (I had a touch of PPD), scratching my entire body and praying. No-one knew what it was. Some told me it was something I stepped in or ate... when medicine was failing me, I went on my knees to the greatest Dr ever liveth. I threw myself at his mercy one more time and as he did my sons, he did for me. My skin is almost clear. I am thriving

All I can say is I'm grateful God has my back. I'm glad I had this group to guide me. I will return to give a blow by blow account of my experiences. I even found a $900 for vag del Dr. The hospital he uses this is not as nice as he is cash wise. I will give a full account soon. My mum is telling for me to come feed my always hungry baby. Thank you all for your encouragement and prayers

Thanks. It's not for missionary journey. I'm not pregnant. Just want to go for Xmas.

dere5:

Basically all your receipts, and if you had to send change of intent letter, print out their reply and take with you.
Is this new visa you did drop box for, for missionary journey? If yes, then also prepare as if you are going for a fresh visa interview, with all the works like Dr & hospital correspondence, buget sheet, bank statements, proof of accommodation etc

Good luck

I smile when I read people go back and forth about whether American (or British) citizenship is beneficial.

My mum also wanted to have a baby in the UK at some point but my dad opposed not for financial reasons but for reasons best known to him. This was back in the day when Nigeria was indeed great.

Well let's just say years later my siblings still get slightly pissed off when they think about the opportunities they never had cos of my dad's decision.

To each his own. I don't care where people have their babies as long as I'm not the one paying for it. And if you think people spend too much having American babies, remember some Nigerians spend similar amounts on a single handbag. Priorities defer in life. Let people be.

Iheanacho is 'made in Aba' and never even went to university but today as a Nigerian export playing in PL earns over 85mil naira on weekly basis. Davido, Osas, BankyW are all American citizens who left America to Nigeria bcuz they saw a better opportunity here.

An uncle who was one of d people that created awareness for sickle cell anaemia in those days but drove only that olden days 404 to show for it somehow found himself in America and today he has a lot to show for it.
What's is my point? Like someone rightly said, it's destiny which can maybe be delayed but can never be denied.

The bottom line is what will be will be. If you can afford a MJ, by all means pursue it and if u can't don't loose hope cuz maybe someday, that child might even be offered those citizenship In a platter of Gold.

Make no mistake tho, the children with dual citizenship like has been previously stated here have head start tho but it also doesn't mean that they will be more successful than others who doesn't have. It still points towards what their destinies are if you believe in destinies. But me, I am advocate of MJ if you can afford it cuz thier is this pride that comes with saying, 'my son/daughter is a/an British/American citizen because truth be told...no be beans! Yes it will take 15/20years to reap the reward. But hey, it's forever! I pray God heal Nigeria so that we all can also be proud to say 'I am Nigeria citizen' and 'I have rights'.

Actually citizenship in Europe is better esp countries like Denmark
Well at least masters school fees will be less and if your child is a dr getting to work in the USA system would be easier I mean 6 digits in dollars not naira per year .....

I think they are going to amend the 14th Amendment rather than repealing it completely

But with all the procedures involved in amending the US constitiution, how easy would Donald Trump have it? I'm just curious to know.

Republican controls both houses now so passing the bill in the next 2yrs will not be as difficult as it will be after mid-term election

Just checked through your old post for your dates, even on arik for that date is N322k. Just collect your money back and buy on any airline website by yourself. I used Arik during my time last year and paid N15k to add my baby's ticket... Usually it's 10% of your own original fare...

Please be wise and get your hard earned money back and DIY.. my two cents

Pls how was ur Arik experience?

Hello all..this is my first time on nairn land. grin Happy to be on board. Please I would really love info from.someone (or if you know anyone) who has used Houston northwest medical centre. I've found a doctor whose fee is 1700 and the hospital is 2000 for vaginal delivery. But don't have an idea of pediatrician fees

Please I would love to get any information especially with regards pediatrician fees and also cost and time frame in getting baby's documents. Thank you so much.

Hello DerinDee please can you help me with the contact of this doctor. I am on a tight budget and this appears to be a good deal to me. My email is mrsjirikap@gmail.com

Hello mamas,
Ive been reading this thread for a long time but stopped but now I'm back.

May/June 2017 seems far but i'd like to get your opinion on whether to get a hospital now and sort everything out before may 2017 or wait till around that period.
Also when is the best time to buy the travel ticket (close to departure date or months before)
(intend using hospital in new york or el paso).

Hello
I sent u a mail,I'll be using el paso around dat time.

2nd missionary journey finally over.

Mum Visa

I asked for opinion wen I applied for my mum visa, she was actually denied without them checking anything,so what i did was to write the consular on her behalf nd I also sent a mail to the consular that I have a toddler nd expecting a baby and I need my mum assistance. I also booked emergency appointment, I attached d receipt for Doctor and hospital, so the appointment was approved and her visa was granted with her saying d same thing as previous interview and they did not check anything.

Birthing
I had my baby Oct 1 at oakbend and used Dr Ezekiel, dat morning I saw the bloody show and contraction was regular, so I called my Bro to take me to the hospital, wen we got there we were gisting so the nurse was looking at us like jokers, Wen dey took me to d room to check how many cm I was dilated nd she saw 4cm with regular contractions, she was surprised cos we were laughing nd making  jokes, I refused to take epidural ooo and seriously it wasn't a bad experience, the only time I almost gave in to epidural was wen I was given oxytocin to quicken d process but thank God it ended in praise.

Dr fee- $1,900
Hospital- $2,300
B&A  - $92
Pead- $335
Lab - $119

After discharge we used hope clinic on bellaire and hg6 for baby follow up  paid $30

Picked up baby's bcert on d 4th from Fort bend county and booked appointment at downtown for baby's passport and was asked to pick up d 3rd day.

Thanks to this wonderful E-family, I used visa on arrival, special thanks to De-soul who helped with it a day b4 our travel date. My advice to others is dat ensure the letter from Nigeria comes from an email, cos dat was d only thing that wanted to cause problem.

Baggage

Hmmm, thank God I belong to this forum ooo, Egonne1 already gave heads up on how emirates delayed her bags and advised we snap our bags. funny enough I checked in  13bags, (Note: if u pay for extra bag on emirates that bag can weigh 32kg not d regular 23kg.) while snapping I gave up but one of d ones I snapped got missing and we were told it's in dubai and it will come d next day, all for them to call me that they are having problems recovering d bag dat I should fill d claim form nd all, I had receipts for  all d items and pictures so I sent to them, and my bag was recovered 2 days after. Thanks to the picture they were able to recover d bag on time.

Me I don hang my boot o.

Please which state is thos hospital at?

I don't know if African stores will have it. If you know someone coming from Naija, let the person buy for you, that's what I did during my first journey. You can check DDdiscount store if it's close by, they usually have very cheap bags.
