Madam, follow your heart and do what u feel is applicable to your family. Only you know where it pinches. If u follow some mouths here, they will. Simply derail you and give u more headaches. So place a deaf ear, and choose the advice that works with your plans.. That's all.

She'll opt for gender selection which would cost more. The embryos would be tested for gender before being implanted.
A friend is currently going through same procedure after trying for 4yrs. She wants 2boys and 1girl (triplets).
I don't like the fact that any one is trying to blame the husband_ she is wearing the shoe, and knows where it hurts.

Personally, if I have just boys or girls without the other, I would go for IVF and select my preferred gender.
Not because I feel any sex is better than the other, but I want both_ there is beauty in variety .

My SIL and BIL have 3/2boys respectively, they both want a girl...it isn't always boys people are looking for.

Somehow. The pressure to get pregnant has started building up & I need to find a way out of it. I have 4 beautiful girls that every family should desire to have. I mean well mannered children. I had a boy too but he died after spending much to keep him alive (35 weeks, 5 days gestation ). I adopted a son and am cool with him but this demand for "flesh & blood " is what I did not envisage as my biological children are not aware of my son's status. He remains my first son, even if God brings another son my way. He is my son and has same rights with others. My husband is proud of the 5 kids and adore the stubborn little boy (), really stubborn but I understand his desire and I can't blame him. He is human

Met a 41 Yr old woman on my last ANC visit who was visibly disturbed and without asking her she told me that day was one week she had an evacuation for a 40 WKs still birth,her unhappiness was that just 2days after the evacuation,hubby told her they'd start trying for another boy.meanwhile she has 2girls1 boy already, so she came secretly to choose a family planning method but alas the hospital says they need her fucking husbands consent.

No one is catching the story. SHe's got 4 daughters, the 5th child a boy died. She adopted a boy, but the husband is not interested in the adopted child and want his own BLOOD. Ivf can choose the Sex of the baby so all they need is a surrogate to carry the new heir. I don't think IVF clinic allow u to meet your surrogate, so they want to choose their own to make sure the baby is a fine boy. Wala

FDR,Government hospitals do not need your husband's consent for you to undergo family planning whateverish.

Pls adopt if you can. There are a lot of surrogate children and babies out there looking for natural mothers.

surrogate doesn't mean the baby is from her eggs, it means she Will carry another woman's fertilized eggs, not her own.

Thanks for your advice. I adopted a boy about 2 years ago after I lost the only baby boy I had but my hubby wants his "flesh & blood " and am not too keen about getting pregnant again after 5 kids (including my adopted son) I am willing to adopt another son but he remains adamant, that's the reason for the quest for a surrogate mum. At least to help carry the fertilized egg to term.
