Since 2012 when AV wore the no 7 jersey he has not been the same attacking player. He has practically no left leg, depends too much on pace and not enough on guile, and as a result is quite predictable. PLUS he does not score enough goals and this season we need prolific attacking players cos Zlatan won't score enough on his own.
And when we have Mikki, Mata, Rashford and Lingard queuing up for places it would be criminal to play him in that RW position when we have possibly better options there and have no dependable RB.

It is true. With Mkhitaryan coming into the picture, the forward positions are now fully occupied. However if you talk about real width and wing play, these other guys cannot provide as much as Valencia. There are matches you just need that man who carries the ball down the field with great pace and balance to provide Assists and second Assists for team mates.

If only Lingard has the talent to match his endeavors, dude gives his all but sometimes it's not enough especially against the very the top teams...I like him as a sub tbh.

Of course i want him in the squad as a sub not a starter. But some people want to flood the team with big money signings whether they deserve their place or not. Lingard is home grown and would always give 100% and won't poison the well when he is benched. No team has only world class stars, it has always been about Zidanes and Pavones one way or the other.

Who was the pass meant for, a Feyenoord player?
Abegi make we hear word!.

Valencia had an odd day compared to his previous outings, buh tryna discredit him for that pass is not gonna fly.

Lucky passes don't mean you deserve credit...That pass was meant for the other black guy, the plan was for him to make a run or play one two, I don't know Mourinhos tactic but I am cocksure that pass seemed too dragged to be meant for Lingard...Did you see how much space he had to run?

Even The BT commentator, the most respected Commentator in the whole of Spain said it not once that the pass wasn't meant for Lingard.

Don't deny it, Valencia got lucky.

I play RB and have seen too many training sessions to know a lucky pass when I see one...Even the BT commentator said that pass wasn't meant for Lingard.

Playing Right Back doesn't give you a superior knowledge of assessing such a situation which took place in the final third.

But it is possible the pass was not meant for Lingard.

Yes it does, I have been in the situation countless times in training sessions, Sometimes I just Launch a cross in the hope someone gets there, Or dribble my way out...

There is no possibility to be made...It's a fact.

Yes the attacking slots are occupied. And football has changed now. Most teams play either forwards or attacking midfielders on the wings and the width is provided by overlapping full backs. Few teams play with wingers that offer you width these days, your wing men must be able to come inside, score and create clear cut chances and that is not AV's strong suit.

Playing him as a RB aids our transition from defence to attack as he is able to travel quickly with the ball and still have options waiting for him when he gets forward. I prefer him at RB and one out of Mikki, Mata, Rashford, Lingard or Martial in front of him at RW.

Great win for us.
Rooney played well and his pass to Mata was awesome. Hope he keeps dis level of performance up so we can finally get off his case grin

Lingard tho. For all his shortcomings, that boy can shoot. And with his weaker foot again.

Happy to finally see Mkhitaryan start and perform. Really hoping to see him start subsequent matches.

Despite the win i'm still not convinced.
Many of our wins this season ve come at home against inferior teams. We need to start replicating these performances and start winning away from home for us to ve any real chance.

"Yeah I’m happy, this was a performance and a result. I was saying before the match, performance without result is not good but gives you a future. A bad performance with a good result is a happy moment but it’s just a happy moment, not a happy future. And this time they played very well again with goals and it's important for us because we always said since day one we want to do well in the Europa League. We were in a position of needing four points and now we need just one."

"I didn’t know that [about the record]. And more important than that is the three points that we need and the performance of the team but I think when you make history it's always beautiful, just beautiful details in your career and in this case for Wayne it's fantastic."

"The reception [from the fans] he [Mkhtaryan] deserved because he played very well. Always improving, improving, improving, improving until the moment he was really tired and I felt it was the right moment to take him off and to let him come off with a very good performance. It was important for his confidence and he will try to keep adapting and trying to replicate this kind of quality performance in the Premier League which is a competition with different difficulties."

"Honestly I don’t like it [playing Westham twice in four days], I never like it. It has happened to me many times in my career and it's something that I think is not good. But we have to just forget the second game and focus on the first one and go step by step."

Seriously I don't support the idea of moving Valencia to RW, I suggest we get another good RW player who's also strong on the ball, that way, the Right side will be under lock and key.
Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by UniqueGem(m): 1:05am On Nov 25, 2016
One Thing Mkhitaryan has over Mata is his run behind the defense. If he isn't creating, he's lurking somewhere behind the defence.

And people will come here and start insulting Lingard. I would have Lingard in my squad rather than Depay.....when it comes to team play and intelligence as well as tactical IQ they are not mates.

I hardly insult that guy coz though he lacks talent and skill, he's a willing runner and plays with determination.

Carrick has completed 90 minutes in two consecutive games? Never knew this was possible. I'm sure the number one decision Jose will have to make soon is how to replace Carrick in that team. Hererra should be allowed to play b2b while someone else plays holding.

That is where Mourinho must show his ability to manage the players well. Ideal midfield should have Carrick who brings a calming effect to the team with an Herrera who is suited for b2b and then a Mata playing behind the striker, but we have a certain pogba who cost the world and most likely cannot be benched. Carrick also can't play all the games too.

It's either we can't play a player regularly because of his age who gives Sterling performances or we must play a player because of his cost who regularly blows hot and cold in different matches and these issues will always have a way of affecting the formation and potency.

Make we dey see sha.

Carrick should be get a replacement asap. Those useless scouts should get us someone that can replace Carrick. I don't even get excited when I hear or read rumours about Griezeman. Can he dominate or control the midfield? No! He is the type that needs a system to operate. He needs those hard workers and runners around him. Do we have them in United? No! So what we need is to get someone energetic that can take control of the midfield first before we can get Grizeman if not our complaints won't end.

Next transfer window will be interesting. We are watching. Hopefully Carrick is able to play every game for us. Two important matches up next, playing Westham twice consecutively and they're both must win. All things being equal and a fit Carrick we will win both.

Emphatic 4-0 win. Yes.

Now watch em play this weekend and get frustrated to the point of almost breaking your screen. The little issues are still there. Did any one notice Martial didn't even make the bench?

Every coach appreciates one or two willing runners in their team. Midfielders that have foresight want to have runners in their teams so they can always drop the ball for them behind the defence. I only hope Lingard is able to improve his passing and decision making. Our trainers should be able to help with that.

Jose Mourinho will make Carrick out of Herrera. Herrera is gradually adapting to the Role, and its unlikely for JM to sign any replacement.

Moreover..... we have Schleiderlin who can later come good as a backup. It's not over for him yet, he can still pick up!

Hey man, what the heck is your problem? I asked if anyone noticed Martial wasn't listed, doesn't mean I'm complaining. Can't even comprehend how you'd see that as a complaint.

I even thought Mou was resting him for the weekend, or that he's been left out because of his recent underwhelming performances- which is deserved.

Don't try scoring cheap points off me with your generalized thinking.

I'm not your stereotyped man utd fan, get your head straight.
