Sorry I was in the bank when I checked my cic account and behold, my TRV was approved. At first I didn't believe it. I really appreciate God for his favour because my application was not that good. I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone in this forum, you all have been great both the ones asking questions and the ones providing the answers. MichV, you have not answered me directly but your contributions have been enormous. I learnt a lot in this journey and I will gladly share them with you guys.

I submitted same day with you though online and I am yet to hear from CIC as well. You start counting the day you submitted if your biometrics is within the 30days of your submission at that point it's valid. However, if it exceeds 30days, your application will be cancelled...and you start afresh

Honestly guyz the waiting is killing.i submitted on the 28th of sept since then no update not even a holding response.i was so frustrated on tuesday that felt like writing a mail to CIC that I am no longer interested. I pray its end in praise.

Congrat Judlice84,
This is like 2 months processing. Congrat.
It's like paper route is faster these days, I submitted my application online on 8 October 2016, but no medical call and no update on my application since then. May God see us through.

On a lighter note *pls how can I change my online application to paper?*

It is not to change from online to paper vice versa once you have submitted. The waiting was killing and I was so nervous that I had to register in a gym. The workout really helped and I will recommend that to anyone

Now this is oyinbo mentality. Nice one!

For those with no gym, just gather two equal size heavy rims, insert an iron rod that can handle their weight in-between them, and begin to lift and drop it. That's what is called improvisation. Lolz

It will end in praise. Shalom!

Travel tips:
Pls guys... in as much as it is wise to shop for cheap flight tickets... kindly also be aware of your environment and happenings!
Example....I for one will not advise a route around Istanbul for now.
You may also wish to buy a one-way ticket instead of return.
Be particular about information concerning movement of your baggages (especially in transit trips); so you wont get to canada before your baggage grin
Deal with reliable travel companies..... not the ones who would tell you that your tickets will be brought to you at the airport!!

Why would you advice against Istanbul?

@judelice84 what is the meaning of coursera and which course are u going for.

Why would you advice against Istanbul?
Turkish air to be precise!!!!
It is a well known fact that the route is constantly troubled in the recent times. Insurgent activities in the area is becoming incessant and worrisome..... even today!!! See attachment ... you cant be sure of the next target! The airport itself had been targeted couple of times. Better to stay safe.
Professional travel consultants will advise on best routes.

you can use ur friend as co sponsor but try to suit it properly. Pay ur school fees. Prove your relationship with ur Aunt by providing ur mum birth certificate, Aunt birth certificate, your birth certificate and ur mum marriage certificate. Indicate your Aunt as the main sponsor. Get an affidavit from the two sponsors (each) explaining your relationship with them and the amount each will be availing to you yearly for the duration of your programme. Add your parents assets or your assets. If you are going for pgc/pgd, please justify ur reasons for choosing such programme.

Apply early!
Although you can check online how long it is taking on average to process study permits, it is always a good idea to apply as early as possible, and at least four to six months prior to the start of classes.

Hello.... its really difficult to count your chicken before the egg is hatched oooo!!!!!
What you should know is that.... engineering progams are a good shot to attain permanent residency status in most country... even in Nigeria! But you should start from somewhere... ok. Is your proposed program only offered in UoM? Do you have admission already or sure of one at the university mentioned?
If yes.... good luck. If no..... then start by romancing Google for info.... start processing your admission.... cic website tells you paths to follow in order to secure a PR after studies. http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/study/work-postgrad.asp

It's a process my dear and you need to follow.... the good thing is that you will get first hand guidance and loads of helps on this thread during the process.
Good luck!
