Exactly, you nailed it. Getting into UT Austin and Texas A&M is tougher, a professor has to be willing to take you in.

Infact I have been trying to get a potential advisor at Texas A&M, the only two profs that have replied, said they're not taking new grad students. The rest after multiple mails, nothing yet. I guess I will try CSM now.
CSM has low acceptance rate. pls, think it through. Cheers

Hello.... Am new here.. I greet everybody, u guys r doing a gud job.. Please i have 3 questions to ask..

1 i have recently applied for undergrad studies for the fall 17 semester, but the school i applied to do not actually have a dedicated portal where u can log in and view ur admission status... I was only sent an identification form to my email after application, please do i have to worry about this?

2 when will schools start looking at applications and rolling out admission for fall 17? I read that its usually after the fall deadling(june/july), someone also told me jan/feb..

3 in the international affidavit of support form, its says i should write the dollar eqivalent of what is in my sponsor's bank acct, please at what exchange rate do i convert the naira to dollar?
Is it cbn rate, or my sponsor's bank rate or parallel market rate? Since they are all different.
Please i need answers thank you.

Anybody started fall aplication yet??

From my little knowledge,
1. You have nothing to worry about if there's no portal to check. Some portals don't even work. Some are just there for fancy sake. If you feel its taking too long to get your admission decision, send a gentle reminder to the school and try to make it look like you need their feedback so you can plan ahead. Remember I said "gentle".

2. Schools have started admitting people since September or probably earlier, don't get deceived. And its for the fall, not even the spring. The earlier you push in your application, the better for you. You can send them in may next year, your luck.

3. I don't know but to be safe, use the current rate which is about 480/490.

Cheers.

A couple of those schools with deadline still accept after the deadlines. But what worked for me might not work for you so don't try anything funny and push in your applications as soon as you can.

Okay, journey of 6 months officially came to an end today at around 7am. God bless the VO that approved my visa. i really dunno where to start from, but anytime i remember how the journey started with Lagosismyhome paying my application fee without collecting a dime, i'm always jolted back to sobriety. I'd drop transcript shortly.
Special shoutout to my virtual family; God's own scholars, especially Prof Charles, Adebimpe (aka Wikipedia), Egbon Kenny of Illinois, and Femi - i swear if this guy na VO, nobody go dey receive visa grin. i also appreciate Pastor Walspring, Texrem, Sureboy grin,Francis, Bobority ... the list is endless mehn.

Although I have been one of the silent sneak-peakers on this forum. My sincere thanks to all the contributors on the USA Visa Enquiries page especially Lagosismyhome and Walspring for giving me my initial footing when I began the process. Also, my thanks to Texrem for handling my sevis payment. To Sureboy, me dey miss your yarns oooh. Not forgetting the ever vivacious God’s Own Scholars; Christian, Prof Charles, Adebimpe, Kenny and Sughar et al, una too gbasky tongue. Plss, is Sevis fee transferable? That is, if someone pay Sevis for a particular school and before the visa interview, one want to change to another school.
