You guys are the major reason why SW people will always lose on Nairaland and never learn

The Op pointed out the socialist mindset of your people as a major economic flaw. Rather than try to prove to the world that Yorubas are
1) not socialist minded or
2) they are socialist minded because of some good reasons citing examples

You guys just went on the abusive attack against the Igbos for an article written by an Urhobo.

You guys fail to realize that it is not your abuse but factual points that convinces people.

Look at posting pics of a state(Anambra) that operates a successful capitalist system

Even Imo state led by a Socialist traitor called Okorocha has rendered the state worthless while his counterpart Ebonyi is doing fine because of his capitalist orientation

The late Sam Mbakwe a capitalist to the core, lifted old Imo out of the Ashes of War

If Yorubas must survive, the orientation of free things by the government must be eradicated

Rather than give the people fish, give them fishnets.

God never created men to be fed but to toil and feed themselves even before the fall of Adam. angry
Abeg tell themooo. This afonja people reason with their asss. That was the whole purpose of this thread but they left the message and the messenger and went straight to attack ndigbo.

In everything education Yorubas are ahead of igbos, there is even no basis for comparison, it will be gross inequality to so do. Now furnish me with the inventions of the so called engineering professors of unn or forever shut it up. Nnewi mechanics, only a corn for brain will make such assertion without proof.
That is a fallacious statement.
Before the civil war, igbo men and women were the educational leading bloc of the country and acting as pioneering heads of virtually most of the federal educational institutions in the country including the south west. And we have regained our position after a decline due to the civil war that allowed a yoruba ascendance.
Even during the civil war, while UNN was churning out indigenous and ingenious military technologies, Nigeria with so many yorubas schools was busy importing.
Imo state currently holds the position as the state with the highest number of accredited professors in the country.
Igbos lead in every field of educational endeavour especially in the developed dispora.

I thought I mentioned Ben Akabueze.

Their emigration pattern I believe is due to cultural cum economic tendencies and not due to hardship.

The Igbos are mainly capitalist while South west are more oriented toward socialism. That was all that was stated in the article
How many capitalist Igbo has ever realized the dream of capitalism exclusively in Igboland? Even the Akabueze you mentioned was schooled in Yorubaland. Where are his fellow Ibos that went to Nsukka and remained in Iboland? None of them is known.

We have to go be reality on ground instead of some myths about a capitalism.

Actually, my reply was to one of your brothers that was comparing anambra to ogun.

Go back to the first page on this thread.

Yorubas have rubbished those claims with facts.

The op is only being mischievous

The op compared southwest technocrats with south east technocrats, thus massaging the ego of the igbos on this forum. .the igbos in return jumped on this thread and used the opportunity to insult yorubas, Ofcourse the yorubas will insult them back.. So preach this your epistle to your igbo folks , that they should mind their business.

The op said our education in west is socialist oriented, we have rubbished those claims, even the igbo capitalist he was comparing us with schooled in the west .ngozi Okonjo iweala, Ben akabueze, willie Obiano, oby ezekwesili etc so can we also say they have the Awolowo socialist orientation?

The op excluded lagos because of just one person, Ben akabueze former commisoner for budget and planning.

But the same Ben akabueze is the special assistant to buhari on budget and planning. So why can't we see his capitalist tendencies there?

The op forgot that Ben akabueze schooled in the south west and not in the east ,he has our orientation here. Besides lagos state house of assembly makes the laws for lagos and we have an executive committee full of yorubas that is implementing these laws.

Okay ambode didn't appoint any igbo technocrat or whatever in his cabinet and his cabinet is doing fine without igbo support or whatever.

And again, we have told you many times that all south west states operates a socio-capitalist system. And that is what fits us.. The logic the op is giving us is that south west economy is bad because of its socialist policies which is wrong.. Lagos and ogun contributes the highest GDP in the country more than any state including the anambra you people like comparing ogun state with.

Ogun is being owed around 220 billion naira or so by the fg more than any other State government, so the op stance that ogun has huge debts is inconsequential.

Ogun state isn't even a socialist state.. It's more of a capitalist state.

And i think even socialism pays and that's why we don't troop to other people's region because we believe we can survive in our region unlike some people that will jump on the next available bus to the south west and still have the mouth to say their region is developed more than the region they are trooping to for daily survival.
What a fallacy.

Mike adenuga, Funsho Arakija, femi otedola, oba otudeko, kessignton adebutu etc are capitalists
We have many more with their industries here in ogun state but they don't make noise like some people that will come here to tell us about one ozubulu billionaire.

Most south west are conservatives.

I won't have joined in the comparison between south west and south east but even this thread and topic already is made up of comparism.

So we just have to debunk all these baseless comparism hence the reason most of us are mentioning south east.

I believe the issue has been addressed

It has been concluded that none of those Ibos were appointed on merit. Go and listen to Ahmad Bello's narration on Ibo. He said if you appoint one Ibo to a position before you know he will appoint five of his men, each of those five will bring additional five....and in three months they have occupied choicy positions and instead of realizing the benefit and humble themselves they soon start to show arrogance and sense of entitlement and dictate to you the rightful owner how to manage your dept. This is why we came out with a policy that we'd rather employ foreigner than put Ibo in a office.

It is not that Ibo was great or was better than Yoruba, rather Yoruba was slow and a slacker. Hausa knew your game and matched you at it.
