Riddeek:

No! Nigeria is not among the least developed 50 nations in the world according to the UN list.
Check Alberta website, the list is there.
Alberta's fee is 100CAD i guess.

Disclaimer: presently i am not a student there, not even an applicant... for now
Thanks so much.

I saw same list of least developed countries for app fee waiver at UBC, yet I read that app fee was waived for Nigeria at UBC.

FIRST APPLICATION:
Applied: April 15, 2016 with upfront E medicals slip via paper route.
Medicals passed (Don't know the date).
Refusal: June 21, 2016.

Reasons for refusal:
1. Insufficient funds to pay for tuition, accommodation and traveling expenses
2. Personal assets and financial status.

Other reasons: (Which I see as the brief GCMS explanations towards addressing the above-mentioned 1st and 2nd reasons) are;

i. Insufficient evidence to prove the relationship with sponsor(in my first application I didn't put the proofs of relationship. Lol).
ii. Insufficient evidence of available funds provided for my studies in canada.

SECOND APPLICATION:
The solutions to the VOs concerns are:
1. Paid my school fees and other fees in part (Tuition is 3,211 CAD per year while I paid the total sum of 8,711 CAD into my Brandon University student account).
2. Also included an email correspondence between me and my school Director of Admissions confirming I will be fine to start in January 2017 as my admission letter has two start dates.
3. Added my land deed, recent valuation report of my land, Shares dividend warrant and my personal SOA.
4. Provided my sponsor's mum NPC birth attestation and statutory declaration of age, my sponsor's mum marriage certificate, my father's birth attestation and statutory declaration of age, my sponsor's birth attestation and statutory declaration of age, my birth certificate (All geared towards sufficient proofs of relationship).
5. My sponsor swore an affidavit before the Notary Public accepting to avail the sum of 23,000 CAD annually for my studies in Canada.
6. Also attached my sponsor's recent bank statement of account, business incorporation certificate and shop deed of assignment.

7. Furthermore, I added a 3 paged strongly worded letter of clarification showing how I addressed the concerns of the VO in a detailed manner while reminding the VO that my sponsor had previously supported my academic trip to Switzerland that he/she (VO) should find attached the certificate of the Swiss course completion, my sponsor proof (letter) of prior support addressed to the Swiss Embassy in Abuja, Swiss Schengen visa, entry and departure stamp pages in my current International passport for his/her kind attention with the summarized end note of the letter as;

"I therefore ask that you please review my renewed application for study permit in light of:
i. Evidence of payment of school fees (Tuition, Residence part payment, Books, Student fees) and resources to support myself in Canada for the duration of my program;
ii. Biological ties between my sponsor and I;
iii. Document of prior support by the same sponsor, as evidence of good faith by my sponsor towards my education;
iv. Evidence of financial resources available to me for the duration of the study;
v. Prior evidence of successful completion and return to Nigeria after completing a prior academic programme in Switzerland.
vi. And my tenacious belief in strong education as a tool for building human capital and developing my country, Nigeria.
I will be happy to answer any other question you might have regarding my application, and can be reached by phone at ............. or by email via ..........

Thank you so much for your time and consideration".

Please is there appication fee waiver for graduate student from Nigeria @university of Alberta?

No idea. Last time I checked, A Nigerian paid for UofAlberta fall 2017 application.

Think it is only UBC that know about the payment predicament. However, you should be able to pay 100 cad with GTB ATM since it is below 100 USD.

Why don't you try applying to UofSas again, Since transcript that was the issue before is now resolved?

Bro, you know say I be just admission applicant. So no vex if things I will say no too make sense.

Your profile big and voluminous but make sense. Just hope they aren't interpreting it to been desperate like I read here some hrs ago.

Also I have few comments. Your sponsor isnt your is your uncle shey? And am seeing sponsor's mom this and that. Think you need to trim some things here.

If that shares are not in hundreds of thousands or millions, I think you should leave it out.

That MRP course sef against Political science, did you address this well in your SOP? Can you get something political science?

Can you get that much money in your sponsors account in yours?

Those are all i know for now. Perhaps address it, trim down your app and pray more.

I just checked too.... VO must have found it difficult to relate them... Especially when the MRD taught in Canada is mainly about Canada and not Nigeria.... it gives rise to thinking how that will benefit you when you return to Nigeria.
I will advise a GCMS note to have a clear cut understanding instead of us guessing!
I only do not know how long a judicial review will take... It would have been the most ideal in your own case!!
Plus we need to properly reconcile your financial/sponsorship details... The VO may get lost in the documents at some point... trying to figure which is for what... Needs to be clear, simple and concise.
Re: Travelling To Canada Part 11 by Nobody: 12:55pm On Dec 22, 2016
My Suggestion

Try to simplify documents to avoid ambiguity. I strongly believe that CIC may have not seen some important documents you submitted because of the irrelevant ones. I'm sorry if this sounds harsh.

I know your funds session is perfect, but I advise you should increase your available funds for a year to like 28k.

Pray. God is able, and please don't give up.

I have also been refused recently, so I can perfectly relate to your sentiments.

it is always painful when a GURU who selflessly assist others to successfully get their TRVs and it turns out this way. just few days back i just only log on to this thread in search of your fruitful testimony as i told you on chat last week that your response from CIC wldn't exceed this week friday. @mikymiko from experience i may not say THE PURPOSE OF VISIT was as a result of your program.NO.. purpose of visit has accomplices of which Insufficient funds is also 1 of them. if your course was not related to you UG,your intended school in canada wouldn't have given you admission in that field for Masters onlike PGD(C) that gives admission in almost any field.i feel YOUR STUDY PLAN a.k.a SOP must have passed a wrong signal to the VO to question purpose of visit too. but if you are skeptical, apply for ur GCMS NOTE before reapplying especially in this re-occuring issue of FUNDS..

I got to Canada yesterday with Air Maroc. Their price is relatively cheap, not an excellent serivice on board but can be considered ok. We landed like 8pm and the view from air was perfect. I have already started my registration and getting my affairs in order. For those of us who are still in the process, I say unto you: please do not give up on this dream. It worths every penny, anxiety, heart ache and time. When you get here, you will understand what I mean.

P.S: mikymiko, sorry to hear your story. Take it as a challenge and face it squarely. Let the FAVOUR of the Lord be upon you all and let your Canadian dreams be fulfilled.

Still battling jetlag. It defeated me last night but I will fight this night grin grin grin grin grin.
