Hello guys
My chances looks slimmer with each passing day, not called up yet for medical. January 2nd looks very unlikely.... applied since 21 September . Have anyone passed through this situation before? Does anyone have an idea of what to expect? I'm just agitated

Please house how long does it take UBC to give admission offer?

Is it until the closure of application?
Thanks.

Decisions are likely made weeks/month(s) after deadline, Especially if it is funded program.

Just relax and go do some other things. Perhaps begin review your Visa profile and how to improve it.

Hope you applied to other schools too. Shalom!

Yes indeed the documents aren't mine, but me and my siblings are bound to inherit it in the future, so can't I still use it for application purpose? I've seen write ups online encouraging using family Property as means to proving home ties. Am painstakingly repeating this question because am kinda running out of options. Am employed but couldn't obtain study leave from work (not in this volatile situation in nigeria where anything irrespective of how trivial they maybe can be used as grounds for dismissal) that is why am hell bent on this property ish. Yes I'll make use of my aged parents situation as you suggested but I feel I need more to really show strong ties to my home country.

Regards and pls help me torchlight this matter abeg. Shalom

You are just giving yourself pain. Anything not in your name is not yours.

Your dad's property shows his financial status not yours. That only improve his profile if he is sponsoring you.

I wonder how you will state employment without letter from them. You may need to confront them sha for letter of introduction at least. Life is all about risk.

Above all, you need prayers and faith for your fears, worries, etc. It is well.

Caution: I am no guru neither have I applied for Visa before. So, all I said are not facts.

3. Is o'level results part of the documents to send?
I will appreciate a prompt response pls as I'm already late for the Sept 17 app

Questions for you;
1. Are you self sponsored?
2. Is your dad your sponsor? If yes, why do you want to inherit his property?
3. Are you aware that properties can be sold after obtaining visa? You think VOs don't know about this?

You are attaching too much energy to this property thing. Yes, it is a good idea to show you have a property to back up your home ties, but it is more important to the VO that you have enough funds to take care of your studies and living expenses (How are you working on this?).

What were your answer(s) to the question(s) above?
You can only be asked to provide a 'letter of curriculum' from your educational institution if you answered 'YES' to the question about work being an essential part of your studies.
They want to know and be guided on how to proceed and find out if you will need a work permit to enable you work possibly more than the 20hrs/week given to students. The letter from the school will explain the details further hence their request for it.
Your answers should be NO if you are not an exchange student and NO if work is not an essential part of your study.
If you haven't applied yet, you may wish to start the process over again.

1. Exchange students are students who are going for a program in canada for a period of time before they return back to their home country to continue the program.

2.This is applicable if internship/co-op is part of your program. Some acceptance letters will come with a letter confirming that work is part of your studies, please note this is only applicable to courses that co-op/internship is a pre-requisite for completion of the program.

Thank you Austinpee4, I think I can still edit the checklist, the answer should be NO for both, I really appreciate for the clarity.

One more thing, I cannot see a place to attach acceptance letter in the checklist area? Or where can I attach that? U are the best

In all the few western countries that I have either stayed or visited... minors are not and will not be required to pay tuition!!... Canada however will not be an exception... I have friends with kids who attend schools in Canada and they do not pay tuition ooo!!!

There is a part of cic website that clearly states that your tuition is free from kindergarten to end of secondary.. .... The only exception are the private schools...
I am certain without doubt that the school you attached herein is private....
I have information that the Catholic and Baptist schools are somewhat the best cos they help the children maintain their morals and values.... Those are also FREE!!!
You will not be required to pay tuition until you are progressing into a post secondary institution !!!
I hope I have tried? ... grin
you have more than tried!!! Thanks very much!

Just to report that i landed safely 4am Canada time. I want to share my POE experience. I landed at Toronto, passed tru security /custom checks, filled an assert declaration form right frm the plane to declare my assert n show that i dnt hv up to 10,000 CAD. I was directed to the border services to obtain my study permit ( it was a really long queue) and i had a flight by 10:50 pm to winnipeg.

Luckily for me, we were directed to a more shorter line. An indian girl's passport & doc were seized, gosh, that got me scared. When it was my turn i wasn't asked any question as to why i came to Canada n wia i am coming frm.

Documents:
1. Admission letter
2. Receipt of sch fees payment ( i told her i was on scholarship to showed her my scholarship letter.
3. correspondence letter from CIC.
4. international passport

She asked for an address i will b b staying temporarily. I cldnt reach my frd, i explained to her n she told me she cnt issue my SIN (social insurance number) till i hav my own accommodation and not to waste my time further cos of my flight, she asked me to sit n in less than 3 mins she called ne back n issued my study permit. She told me i cn wrk wen i hv my SIN wc i cn get here in winnipeg.

Canada is really beautiful n frdly & i wish all TRV hopefuls the very best. And as for the cold, i was able to cope, LOL.

So does that mean that the place where u boarded a plane to winnipeg is not within the same compound as the airport you landed?
I am asking because what if I decide to stay back at Toronto for like a week or 2 before going to winnipeg, do you think that would be ok with the officials at the POE or I should just jejely head straight to winnipeg.

If you have submitted your application already without the upfront medical slip. Then you have to wait till you are called for medicals.

Yes, until they receive transcript. I just got the admission in November 29th and I apply since March this year cos my course is very competitive.

So it depends on the course you are going for how competitive it is, mine was very competitive though.., that's why Is always advisable to check whether a course is available before applying.. You can email or call the school.

I hope this helps,

Best
