That's actually not true. There is a small group of true worshippers who call themselves Isrealites here in Nigeria. They don't celebrate birthdays either. Their beliefs are deeply hinged on the teachings of the Torah and true Hebrew tranditions which include no use of engagement rings, hair coverings for women, wedding feasts as opposed to wedding ceremonies and worship on Saturday as opposed to "sun day" pagan worship of old. And yes, they are Nigerians.

because Muslim holidays have Islamic origin. unlike the most popular Christian ones ie. easter and Christmas...which have pagan origins
