I pray for believers on Nairaland, no matter the number of attemptsof those that think there is no God and no matter the version of their cunning ways, and their style of mocking God, your Faith will not fail, instead you shall wax strong and strong and strong in Faith...Amen |

felixomor:Dude, I love the way you think I want to hire you. Your mental gymnastics can be of very good use in my company For example, I can tell you I am paying you while simultaneously having the account officer tell you you have no pay.. Please just use your mental gymnastics to have faith you are paid in Jesus name. |

I THINK I AV A BETTER UNDERSTANDING WHY DIS THREAD IS IN FRONT PAGE JUDGING BY THE MONIKA OF THE OP AND HIS OUTSPOKING DISGUST FOR THE RELIGION JUST FOR THE RECORD U NEVER GET A SINGLE ANS RIGHT REASON BCUS BOTH OPTIONS ARE BOTH CORRECT DEPENDING ON THE BIBLE PASSAGE U DECIDE TO USE. Choose option 1 and u ll n wrong cuz its gonna provide passage supporting option 2 and vice versa Matthew John Mark Like all av similar but slightly different of Jesus just as 10 pple ll av similar but slightly diff account of a crime seen. TRY NOT TO BE SWAYED BY THE INABILITY OF SOME PARTY TO REASON BEYOND THE SURFACE. |

It's so hilarious that seun the owner of the site is pretty much atheist. Yet people keep pushing stereotypes of atheism which completely fly in the face of his reality. We live in a world of believimg whatever you want and not what is true.. |

Seun:I don't know what you want to achieve with thread Seun, but I'm seriously disappointed that you could come up with this. To everyone his illusions, I've had it up to my neck in nairaland with all these igbo/yoruba fights on NL and now you want to add religious bigotry to the mix? Leave the people to their opium, haba?!!! Note: I asked so many questions, on the mysterious I almost went crazy. I choose to be a Christian not just to keep my sanity, but because Christ is truly the Lord of Lords. |

I can see Seun is all out trying so hard to win souls into Atheism. His interest in Christianity. Seun, i dare you channel half of your interest to Islam and see if you and your Nairaland will stand it. |

Seun, you and your crew can hit at Christians with your best shot, but the gospel will continue to be preached.I don't see wind but I know it's there. There's evidence when it blows and beyond every reasonable doubt, I can't question it's existence.I don't see heat but I know when it's hot coz I feel it.So it's the same with God.I may not see Him but I know He's there.Only the fools will continue to say that there's no God.But one fact is undeniable, that every human being deals with something beyond them. They may have questions that they can't find answers to and they long for strength bigger than their own. What then do you do?It's a shame to believe that you evolved from monkeys. |
| Re: Take The Gospel Story Quiz To Prove Your Bible Knowledge! by rose54321: 2:32am On Dec 31, 2016 |
Seun:This is just lame. If you've chosen to be an atheist, good for you, but to constantly throw it in our faces, with the intention of buying others is shameful. Very shameful. You need to re evaluate yourself, its clear from all indications that you yourself believe there's a God. Just too ashamed and maybe even proud to accept it. If not for my love of news, I would have long left a forum that "breeds" atheism |

jonbellion:There is no contradiction in those verses, the quiz was set to confuse those who are not grounded in bible details and the audience and purpose of each of the gospel writers. Take the quiz again, twice each time choosing the other option and them read the referenced bible verses again and within the context, you will see that, they do not contradict each other. I will do the above, with the donkey/colt you mentioned above. Mathew was focused on the fulfillment of the prophesies and went into details: Matt. 21:1-9 "...So the disciples went and did as Jesus commanded them. They brought the donkey and the colt, laid their clothes on them, and set Him on them. And a very great multitude spread their clothes on the road; others cut down branches from the trees and spread them on the road. Then the multitudes who went before... Luk. 19:28-44 "...And they brought it to Jesus, and throwing their cloaks on the colt, they set Jesus on it 36 And as he rode along, they spread their cloaks on the road..." You can see that both scriptures did not contradict each other, Mathew only mentioned that Jesus sat on both the donkey and the colt and never mentioned that he rode both, Luke mentioned that, he rode the colt. It is possible for Jesus to sit on both of them, but one after the other and eventually rode the colt into Jerusalem. It is like reading a report from two journalists, reporting about Buhari's recent visit to Lagos. One journalist can write, that...." Buhari rode in many cars into Dodan barracks, VI..." and another will report that, "...Buhari rode in a bulletproof armoured car into Dodan barracks, VI". Usually, we do not immediately say, both journalists are contradicting each other, we simply combine both information to get a better picture, of what actually happened, i.e. Buhari rode into Dodan barrack in a fleet of vehicles, but he was seating in the Armoured car. We came to this conclusion because, common sense tells us that, despite our erroneous conclusion of what the first reporter was intending to communicate, it is impossible for Buhari to simultaneously seat/ride in more than one vehicle at the same time. Looking at it again, we will see that, we misunderstood the first reporter, our subconsciousness was trying to 'fill-in' the gap and 'make up' some information, that based on our opinion, education & experience, we think the first reporter was 'missing'. If you apply the same common sense logic to Mathew & Luke account, plus the fact that Mathew never mentioned that Jesus rode on both, but sat on both and never even suggested that he sat on both at the same time, more so; since a colt is smaller and of different height than a donkey it is practically impossible to sit on both at the same time, talk less of riding both at the same time. This clearly shows that, the quiz is using false equivalence and those scriptures do not contradict each other. You can do this same analysis with the other 19 supposedly contradictory questions and come to the same conclusion as above. If you suspend your opinions, wisdom education & experience and read Luke's & Mathew's account again, without adding or subtracting anything from them, you will clearly see that, there are no contradictions. We start running into problem with the scriptures, when we allow our 'smarter selves' or wisdom to get in the way. That is why in 1 Cor. 1:20-25: Paul says: "..Where is the wise man? Where is the scribe? Where is the debater of this age? Has not God made foolish the wisdom of the world? For since in the wisdom of God the world through its wisdom did not come to know God, God was well-pleased through the foolishness of the message preached to save those who believe. For indeed Jews ask for signs and Greeks search for wisdom; but we preach Christ crucified, to Jews a stumbling block and to Gentiles foolishness, but to those who are the called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God and the wisdom of God. Because the foolishness of God is wiser than men, and the weakness of God is stronger than men..." Conclusion: The wise and learnt people relaying on their acquired wisdom and smartness will keep stumbling not only on the above Luke/Mathew's account of Jesus' entrance into Jerusalem, but on the whole scriptures and will fall; but the common folks will read the same scriptures, without adding or substracting anything, it will make sense to them, and they believe it and be saved. |
