TheGoodJoe: Just because you are in a big club as a youth player doesn't not mean you have outstanding quality. There is a lot more going on behind the scenes than you can imagine. I will say it again there is probably no premiership team without at least a couple of Nigerian origin players. Some have if you include all age groups over 20. There are some championship teams that have a better academy than some premiership teams. For a long time I was very impressed by Fulham academy. I would have reservations about the players Terzurum5 has mentioned. However, when Rohr is considering players from clubs with less quality than the English premiership and championship I am restrained. Otherwise I wouldn't say these are the boys with the best quality to suit our national team and it's ethos and style. |

Saheed69: Yes fenecs are overrated, they are not a good contender, Their FA shouldn't have sack that serbian coach. The Belgian coach tactics sucks. Amidst all the teams in this tournament, Senegal may win this tournament. They are very organized, tactical good so far and got good players. I tip them to win it! 1 Like 1 Share |

AF Nigeria Premier League 2016/2017 China PR Ighalo to join West Brom for 17 million pounds - Reports Nigeria striker Odion Ighalo has been linked with a 17 million pounds switch from Watford to another Premier League side West Bromwich Albion. According to Sky Sports sources, Ighalo could hope to resurrect a rather wretched season with a move to The Hawthorns. He has also been lined with a big-money move to China after he twice rejected such offer last season. Ighalo, 27, has already played in Udinese and CF Granada. He has only netted twice in all competitions this season after rattling in 17 goals last season. Nwankwo Kanu, Brown Ideye and Osaze Odemwingie are other Nigeria strikers who have turned out for ‘The Baggies’ with varying fortunes. africanfootball.com/news/680304/Ighalo-to-join-West-Brom-for-17-million-pounds-Reports 1 Like |

West Brom's condition for signing Ighalo [img]https://3.bp..com/-_fuOUUx9Z00/WIFPVio0OPI/AAAAAAAACuw/Z1b5sSQtWsk0B6fvIVfmco3lIfhtOAM1QCLcB/s1600/Odion-ighalo.jpg[/img] Reports from England suggest West Brom's interest in Watford and Nigerian striker Odion Ighalo is very much dependent on the Baggies first agreeing a deal for Saido Berahino to leave, according to Sky Sports. West Brom boss Tony Pulis is said to be keen on adding Ighalo to his squad, but West Brom aren't prepared to pay the £17m price that Watford reportedly want. Ighalo has been linked with a move away from Watford this January, China thought to be one of his possible destination but it appears the striker may snub the Chinese Super League money for a Premier League stay. It is believed negotiations between Stoke City and West Bromwich Albion are progressing well over the possible transfer of Saido Berahino. It was reported ten days ago that Stoke had made a bid for the striker. Now Albion have responded and re-engaged with talks. A fee hasn't yet been agreed, but both sides are getting closer. www.soccernet.com.ng/2017/01/west-broms-condition-for-signing-ighalo.html |

Liverpool Boss Hails The Performance Of Sheyi Ojo Against Plymouth Argyle Liverpool manager Jürgen Klopp was satisfied with the performance of Sheyi Ojo in his side’s FA Cup third-round replay with Plymouth Argyle on Wednesday night. The England youth-teamer dazzled for the Reds following his introduction in the 76th minute, and Klopp admitted that many people thought he would have started the game at Home Park. “I liked, for example, the reaction of Ojo tonight. Everybody, maybe, with Ojo involved they expected he would have played as one of the [starters] if he [was involved in] this game tonight as one of the young players, but I was not too happy with one or two things,”Klopp told liverpoolfc.com. “Today, I thought he made a big difference when he came on, with his speed and there was sharpness involved. “He’s a wonderful player but, without sharpness, it’s nothing.” Another Nigerian teenager Ovie Ejaria started and completed the game against Plymouth Argyle, his seventh appearance in a Liverpool shirt this season. NFF : Iheanacho, Iwobi Will Help Everton Wonder kid Lookman In His Decision To Represent Nigeria The Nigeria Football Federation will persuade Everton teen sensation Ademola Lookman to represent the Super Eagles rather than the Three Lions at senior level. NFF’s Technical Director, Bitrus Bewarang, believes the African powerhouse stand a chance of succeeding in their pursuit of the highly-rated striker as they previously convinced Alex Iwobi, Victor Moses and Shola Ameobi to play for the national team. “We’ve managed to get players like Moses and Iwobi in the past and Lookman will be a great addition to the national team if we got him, ”Bewerang said to the BBC. “We have a young side, the new coach is building a strong squad and having some youngsters from the Premier League [Kelechi Iheanacho and Alex Iwobi] could help his decision. “I am not desperate to see this happen but we will give it a shot.” Lookman has won eight caps in total for England’s youth teams and could feature at this summer’s Fifa U20 World Cup. komekn: Rohr should consider and look into those who genuinely want to represent us. When I wrote consider and look into, I did not mean call-up. I meant check if there is promise. For instance studying the players tapes, watching matches the player is playing and if possible during foreign trips, watch the player live. If Rohr feels the player can make the Super Eagles stronger, he can invite the player. I am always in support of the search for better players. However, the players considered must be those who genuinely want to represent us. |

onirugbon: Shit happens in football and that is the case of Algeria. They are still a very formidable side. I wish they crash out at the group stage of this AFCON so that will unsettle them. They will sack the coach and be distracted with having to search for a new coach and by the time they finally regroup, they will be low in confidence. 1 Like |
