Big thanks to scholastica16, happyday, sirRiddy, electronic, et al for ur suggestions with regards to my application at SDSU.

I emailed the grad coordinator stating those constraints discussed, and he reverted with a response that I can upload an unofficial copy of my transcript to make d process go forward. He further stated that I may be conditionally admitted if I satisfy their admission criteria, and d condition will be removed when d university receives the official copy at a later reasonable date.

Still, I got a mail from d Office of Grad Admission (after his response) stating that my application is incomplete and can't be forwarded to d department. Maybe I should inform d grad coordinator about d mail from admission office??

Hello people,
Please I need your help with an application fee for a university in Oakland California, I have sent two different credit card authorization form and both as been declined, GTB and Access Bank Naira cards respectively. I have sent the hard copies of my document to the school(wasn't easy getting the transcript from skl) and have also sent in a scanned copy for admission. Anybody in California or in the US that can help me with the payment, will reimburse with the naira equivalent.

Start reading from page one of this thread/part at least...you'd, in addition to knowing what steps to take, learn from people's experiences which is even more valuable.

Sure thing... thanks

Montana Tech and Montana State University, Tennessee State univerisity, Nashville. Please make sure you prepare well for your GRE. You can aim for PhD. Kansas State University and University of Kansas

Sorry I'm quoting a very old msg but I need to make reference to this!
This was some 3-4 months ago and this advice has really helped.

I appreciate you Skinny and everyone that has helped me reach this stage! God bless you richly!

I'm back this time and I think I have some good news this time. smiley

I got a mail from one of the schools you advised that I applied to that I've been accepted for a PhD Electrical Engineering. Super excited about it.

The only ish now is I was asked to send financial document before issuing I-20. Truth is I don't have such financial muscle

Anyways, I trust the Elders in the house to guide this "toddler" in the right direction

I must appreciate the indefatigable efforts of @Electronic aka my tutor smiley He's been very helpful and instrumental all through the application stages. He's also given valuable advice on how to proceed which I hope to act on from Monday but I'm open to more guidance; the more the merrier, right?!

I totally will love full funding or something very close.

PS: I've been in talks with the grad coord for a while and she's been of help too though most times pithy and not discussing things at length. Ive never discussed funding with her up till now because I felt it was sort of sensitive but now that the admissions' given, how do I proceed from here?

Also, I once mailed the particular Prof whose research aligns with mine before submitting my application but he never replied.

Should I mail him again, or reach out to even more outside my area of interest?

What should I do differently in the mail this time?

The school is U o Kansas, if that might help

Looking forward to your much esteemed guidance folks!

Congrats! I assume they're not expecting you to fund 5 years of PhD with your funds. But it might be that the top candidates get funding, while others who are admitted but without funding are eventually dropped. Mail the grad co-ord without mincing words that even the first year willbe financially difficult for you to sponsor. That you'll need all the funding you can get, and that you might not be able to attend otherwise.

Tell them you're saying all this, cos of the financial doc requirement they're requesting. You might be exempted, or better still need to tell them you expect their funding.

PS: It would help if you've already said all these in your SoP, that way, you can just refer them to it. Cos, I can see this on the program's page: Students interested in assistantships should describe their teaching or research interests and qualifications in their academic objectives statement.

All the best!

Renewable congrats.
I also got into KU EECS MS
but got just half waiver.
I am positive you will be funded and I am
surprised you have not asked for it yet.
Ask unequivocally if you will be getting funded
or not. It is different now that you have been
accepted. Also try to make contacts with
current students and ask them as e dey go.
Those ones no dey lie. KU is a very good school.
I hope you make it there smiley

Congrats ...... you did not state if you mentioned that you need funding. It something you should have clearly stated from beginning and dont be ashamed to ask for funding for phd...its a normal process as most phd are funded .

So If you havent asked , go back to the school coordinator and let them know you are excited about the offer and very clearly you need to inquire about funding opportunities for phd ....
