Back from watching the City and Hull game. I was more interested to see why the buzz about Gabriel Jesus. I wanted to make an unbiased view. My Verdict: Gabriel Jesus is not worth the hype. Maybe with time working under Guardiola, he can become a formidable attacking weapon. Until then, I think the hype should reduce. Leroy Sane outclassed Gabriel Jesus in every part of the game. Even tracking back and pressing. Leroy Sane showed far more intelligence and skill. Dribbled better and made cleaner passes. Although Sane is longer at the club and Gabriel Jesus is still blending with the league. Until then, I hope the hype cools down. |

I just pity that young man Aguero, from chasing the top goal scorer award to sitting on the bench, what is Jesus doing different from what Aguero n iheancho have being doing all season |

Iheanacho vs Gabriel Jesus After watching Gabriel Jesus closely, I can say that I see Nacho as the superior talent. Let me break why I think so. |

#flashback.... Your point on Adi is vital. I recall you were one of the few who advocated for his chance back then? I think? No doubt, he would have been a menace for Egypt. His height, size, power and "okay pace".... All we had to do was "stone" those long balls to him or just find him "anyhow" as he'll be the "target man" and draw away attention to himself allowing the others do super damage.... Ah well... So many dynamics to the beautiful game shaa.... Not usually as straightforward as I just put it... Hopefully we have learnt our lessons... Meanwhile Mehn... I know I asked "na only dem dey Africa?" But I am kinda rooting for them ooo.... Well shaa... Would love to see "Tactically disciplined but less goals" cameroun come up against "Tactically disciplined and can-get-goals" Egypt... Attacking wise, Iheanacho is faster than Gabriel Jesus. Iheanacho moves with far more pace from the midfield into the attack. I doubt that is a debate. Iheanacho is a better passer. Gabriel Jesus does not look as composed as Iheanacho when he drops deep. Although he made some electric passes earlier in the game. Gabriel Jesus can not press as hard as Iheanacho. Sane had to cover him in doing a lot of that. Something that hardly happens when Nacho attacks for City. Iheanacho has more stamina and plays with more intensity. As for finishing. With what we have seen in the last few games, Nacho is ahead of Gabriel Jesus in finishing. |

Where Gabriel Jesus clearly stands out from Iheanacho is his work rate to retrieve the ball. He clearly wins the ball more than Iheanacho but... Later in the game, Sane did that even more than him and worked harder. Maybe, that is what Guardiola wants, an attacker who can defend. Also, Gabriel Jesus gets himself involved in the game more than Nacho. He drops to the midfield and the wins the ball at a faster rate. |

Your point is true and this is why..... ........ I would really love, (Ghana permitting ) to see both kinds of tactical disciplined approaches on display... One with a few goals in it and the other with no goals at all... Tactically disciplined "goals-shy" Cameroun vs Tactically disciplined "got-some-goals-in-there" Egypt But let's see if Ghana's black stars will say no to this Lazyerudite: |

princesuko: I think you jumped. I had not finished my write up. By the way, who talks of Aguero when we are talking of pressing. Aguero sucks at it. Gabriel Jesus Presses but Iheanacho is far better. Sane is also better than Gabriel Jesus. I have never watched a game where Iheanacho is upfront and another player Presses the keeper many times. This happened with Sane pressing the keeper on many occasions while Gabriel Jesus was playing nine. I did not go with a biased mind. I went to see the buzz of Gabriel Jesus. 1 Like 1 Share |

My advice to Nacho is to reinvent himself. I know, I know many will say, why would I advice a player I feel is better than the poster boy of Manchester City, to reinvent himself. I want Nacho to merge the best of both Worlds he possesses. His finishing World and his creative midfield World. In the words of TheSuperNerd, HYBRID. Nacho needs to lead the line but play more as a midfielder. That will get him more involved in the build-up plays. That is a place Gabriel Jesus shines. Then with his brilliant pace, Nacho can meet up with the forward line and use his exceptional speed to score loads. With this, I do not know any striker that can match up with him. Iheanacho can become top quality by making the False nine role, the Nacho role. Just as the false nine is highly attributed to Messi. 1 Like 1 Share |

Nacho's creative midfield play, blistering pace and Superb finishing makes him one of the ideal talents in the game today. I know it hurts not making the bench but so far, the hard work he put at City moulded him into one of my favorite forwards in the game. If he becomes more of a false nine attacker, I see him shaking the World. I hope he puts in more work on the training pitch and keep improving. He is in his formative years and game time will come. Wish the Young man the best and same for other Nigerian players. Both local and Foreign. Congrats to the Cityzens for a great win. |

I am a big fan of Hector Cuper from his days at Valencia, to his time at Inter Milan. Great tactician. I hope he wins the final of the AFCON with Egypt because of the two Champions League final Hector Cuper lost with Valencia. He coached Valencia to the final of the Champions League in two straight seasons and lost to the mighty Real Madrid and Bayern Munich (Penalties). I think he deserves a chance to celebrate a big title winning. |

I later realized that the bet can't stand after i have taught that oga Josy should have ask one of the ogas in the house to have the money from the two parties before the stake is place on, So it will be more open in this way. Honestly, if it was Oga Joseph that loss, the guy wouldn't put the pressure on him this way. As the guy is an Ijesha guy, he hardly give out money to people but he can blow that amount of money on beer and club with in a week if he got paid U guys should cool down, we are all matured. Top Top Top post...... @bolded.... Exactly my stance from the beginning. He can become that super hybrid monster in the final third. Rohr, coach of our Super Eagles sees this in Nacho but at club level, Nacho needs a coach who will "help" build upon what Pellegrini saw when he said, "Iheanacho is a striker but he's much more than a striker.... He's also a fine finisher but is more than a finisher... There's a whole lot more to his game...." Nacho should re-invent himself yes... I'm sure that's what he's killing himself doing at the Man City famed training ground. But he needs a "coach" too..... By that I mean one who believes in him and sees him just as he is.... "A super talented Soccer sensation from Africa that can go on to shake the world like Weah did". Do people think Nacho isn't pushing hard and stepping up his self-re-invention when he sees week in, week out how his compatriots such as Victor Moses and Alex Iwobi are turning out fine performnaces as "Super Regulars" for top flight teams in Europe (England to be precise)?? Time will tell...... For now... Nacho... Just see this as part of your challenges. No one can take the beastly talents you have in you. Not even Pep's deliberate blindness to your talents.... Your time shall come. TheGoodJoe: 2 Likes 2 Shares |

Who the hell gave Gabriel Jesus man of the match after Sane's magical performance today? OK. I think we should call Gabriel Jesus THE LOVED ONE. Sane clearly deserved that Man of the match and he is the one driving the revival of City. Sane should have played for Senegal. Sad. His dad used to play for the Senegal national team but he chose Germany. |

EZEKIEL BASSEY: THE NIGERIAN SPEEDSTER SET TO TAKE BARCELONA BY STORM The 20-year-old has joined La Masia from Enyimba but what exactly will he bring to the Barcelona table?COMMENT By Solace Chukwu Ezekiel Bassey’s move to Barcelona B on Tuesday took many by surprise. The winger, previously on the books of seven-time league champions Enyimba, signed on an initial six-month loan deal, with a provision to make it permanent for a two-year duration. Barcelona B of course compete in Spain’s Segunda B, the equivalent of the third-tier. Looked at that way, it is hard to get excited about such a move. However, this is no ordinary third division side. By virtue of being Barcelona’s farm team, the move affords him the opportunity of training alongside the world’s best players. Barcelona may have recently moved away from their prominent home-grown bias, with most of their recent acquisitions for big money and sourced from without, but this still presents the player with a great opportunity. Even players who do not make the step-up often land on their feet. Barcelona remains respected enough in terms of youth development that clubs have been known to shop in the B team. Adama Traore, pace and frustration in equal measure at Middlesbrough, is one such case; it is unlikely Barcelona will go back in for him in the future. Still, he can have no complaints with his current estate. Bassey therefore cannot lose, but what direction he takes is entirely dependent on whether he can take to his new surroundings as comfortably as he did at Enyimba. The 20-year-old joined the two-time African champions from Akwa United at the start of the 2014/2015 season with a reputation as one of the league’s rising stars. His speed and quick feet made him a prized asset —the Nigerian Professional Football League (NPFL) is uncompromisingly physical, and there is a great emphasis on man-marking, so players who excel in one-on-one situations are in high demand. It was Enyimba though who won the race to sign him, but even they would not have expected bang for their buck so soon. While most had expected Mfon Udoh, who set the record for league goals, with 23, the previous season to push on and power the team’s challenge, it was new signing Bassey who was at the heart of much of the play going forward. Starting on the left and dribbling diagonally infield, Bassey was a constant menace whenever he started, reaching double figures for assists in his debut season for the club. Enyimba secured a record seventh title, and Bassey was their player of the season. However, he was unable to consolidate on that splendid opening season. A coaching change saw him fall somewhat out of favour, and a spate of niggling injuries did not help his cause. However, he made his international debut for Nigeria in November 2015 in a World Cup qualifier against Swaziland, a tacit admission of his ability whenever fit. He had a sub-par tournament at the CHAN the following January though, struggling to make an impact as Nigeria exited in the Group Stage. However, his involvement in the NPFL’s La Liga tour in August once again put him in the spotlight, and has culminated in this move. Barcelona gets a player with insanely quick feet and an impressive repertoire of dribbles and step-overs. He is unmistakably stronger on his right foot, but will not shy away from going on his weaker left. Unlike most young pacy wingers, he is neither small nor frail, and this is both a strength and a weakness. On the one hand, he is hard to bully off the ball, but on the other he does not have that ability to weave and duck between challenges that smaller players have. As a result, he wins a high volume of fouls. If there is a worry about him, it is the streak of ostentation that runs through his football as well as his personal life, as a cursory examination of his social media profiles will reveal. His decision-making is often problematic, as he indulges one too many dribbles, and prefers to put the defender on the back foot and provoke a foul rather than pass when he sometimes should. His finishing is also a part of his game that remains indecisive: his technique in striking at goal is limited, and will have to be worked on extensively. As it stands, he has a six-month window within which to convince the coaches at Barcelona he is worth a further punt. If he gets his head down, there is little to suggest he will fail to make the grade. TheGoodJoe: Miles better? He was better(which is debatable) not Miles better. I think Jesus did what was asked of him, pressed well, tracked back, had a goal and an assist. Don't know about you but that consistute an 8-9/10 performance. Most people are getting touchy about Gabriel Jesus because it detriments nacho chances. But we are looking at a balon d'or prospect here. |

Go and download the match highlights. The few clips you will see will convince you. Gabriel was second best and Sterling was third. Sane was faster and worked harder. Created more scoring chances than Gabriel Jesus. Sane was far better. I doubt you watched the game. If not you will not argue this. 1 Like |

Exclusive + Pics – Ezekiel Dazzles In Training With Barcelona, Club Extends His Stay By Three Weeks Barcelona latest recruit Ezekiel Bassey gave a good impression of himself in his first training session with the team, Owngoalnigeria.com can exclusively reveal. The 20 year old completed his move to the team on an initial six months loan deal with the option of a permanent deal at the end of the current season yesterday, and distinguished himself during training with the B team. Coach of the team Gerard Lopez told the local press in Spain, that Bassey is a technical player who will get better in the nearest future. Some players of the first team who came in early for their training gave him hugs and commendations as well. His performances has made the team extend his stay in Spain by three weeks to enable him settle into the plans of the B team, squashing plans of his planned return to Nigeria on Saturday. He was supposed to return to Nigeria to begin his visa and work permit process, but while the process will still go on, Bassey will only be given a five days break to return to Nigeria and pick his work permit when it comes through. Upon his return he is expected to walk straight into the B team for league games in the third division, where his performances will be monitored for promotion to the first team.
