As you people are blaming the lady, please don't forget to blame the guys that got her pregnant and abandoned their children. They are also wrong. Please the parents should start training their boys, tell them not to get any lady pregnant till marriage, the society should start shaming the boys too, for getting a lady pregnant outside marriage. They should make the society better for our sisters, mothers, daughters, brothers e.t.c As a man you should know a lady's character before you jump into bed with her, don't sleep with get her pregnant and start saying you cannot marry her because you don't like her character.

Another thing is the way naija is...if a guy gets u pregnant and does not want to accept the marriage then u can take him to court n get ur child support n other entitlements
Its why single parenthood outside africa is less scary than here; because u cant run from your responsibility, but here if a guy decides to abandon the girl then everybody just puts curses and goes their way.....
Guys will avoid impregnating girls anyhow if they know that they will surely be the ones to take care of the kids

D one that pains the most is when the child has grown and made it then one day u come home and see somebody saying he is ur father.....the way i vexed for momsi for allowing the bastard into her house eh...i just chased him out....if u were not there b4 then dont come now that i dont need u

Hmm, my dear it seems Nigerians value culture more than religion in this case, else they would have forced the men to take responsibility for their actions, but in Nigerian culture its only the woman that is at fault. some men are shameless, coming back after all those years to claim responsibility (reap what they did not sow). Marriage scares the hell out of me, cos those very most important qualities(Trust, Loyalty & understanding) I need in a woman in order to comfortably put a ring on her seem to be extremely rare to find these days.
With Most ladies acting like they would literally die without a diick.
Cant have my woman messing around while I'm out hustling to provide for the family...
I mean, she could easily catch some deadly STDs out there and slide them straight to you... Or you end up raising other people's kids thinking they yours... Etc

You can only do your best and leave the rest to God. Our generation is messed up I must say. My problem with fellas is hypocrisy. We ve to accept responsibility for our undoing. My brother find a girl who has the attributes you need and marry her simply. If you can't marry a girl don't befriend her.

Trust me the only thing tjose single mothers are good for is SEX.And nothing else.
They are definitely good in bed because time no more at their side and they believe they can trap a man by offering sex of a lifetime.

Besides the obvious reasons already mentioned by the fellas in this thread...

Regardless of feelings, Those children will ALWAYS hold some kind of allegiance to their real fathers.
So there you are, a man that has been conned into raising up another man's child like some bitch.
If that child becomes sucessful, I bet you that kids father is gonna show up one day like "My child, I have changed...Forgive me (tears running down his face and ish)".

That child will still feel a need to pull that nigga back in.
Why? Because blood is thicker than water.

Also Like someone said, 2 is my max. If she has already had that, budget have finish!
But you NEED to put a baby in a woman like that otherwise, no matter what sob stories she has or what bullshit comes out of her mouth to egg you on, all her sub-conscious(i.e she can't help it) will see you as is "that guy I conned into raising MY kids".

It is when all these things unfold that You then quickly realize that you allowed your life to be used like toilet paper....slaving yet another inherits. Such things are a curse.

The best I can do to a woman in such situation is to adopt her kids if she can't take care of them. But I'll never wife such. Unless, but unless she was raped by an unknown man. Only on such rare occasion i can wife her.
