tbaba1234:Agreed but i still see him leading d attack for now,if i may ask which striker w u pick ahead of Nacho in d National team for now coz i don't see any,d experience ones like Ideye and Ighalo have not live up to expectations and this resulted for them being dropped to d bench against Algeria, though Senegal friendly and Cameroon match w put a question mark if he failed to perform but i don't think so coz if older Mikel always raised his game despite not having playing time at Chelsea then d young Nacho should do d same |

TheGoodJoe:I wish him the best... Hopefully, things improve at club level and he does not dip in form on the national level. |

Kog45:Mikel is an old experienced player. Lack of playing time will have less effect on his confidence than a young player. We already saw signs of Kelechi losing a bit of confidence under Pep. The only thing going for Kelechi now is that Nigeria does not really have in form options in attack. But if players like Sadiq Umar, Osimhen, Isaac Success and Anichebe start playing well and scoring goals in the next few months and Kelechi is barely playing, He can easily be dropped. |

tbaba1234: That is exactly what I expect. Judge Iheanacho from his form in camp and Super Eagles game. Not if he has playing time under Guardiola. |

tbaba1234: Barely playing is not the issue. None of those listed above will barely play at City. If playing time is all, all our promising talents should go to Finland or China and play regularly. Best in camp all day long. |

TheGoodJoe:Pls forget best performer in camp.Do u want us to start with Kayode Olarewaju coz he performs better in camp against Cameroon,is not done that way.Nacho already established himself in d National team and his goal ratio speak for him, irrespective of lack of playing time at Man city,Rohr w not make d mistake of starting anybody ahead of him even if d guy perform wonder in training. It's a pity Guardiola is messing d guy up. Do u remember Richard Owubokiri, this was a player that conquered d whole Europe as d highest goal scorer but Westerhoff dropped him for Yekini who was playing for Victoria Setubal in d Portuguese second division while Owubokiri was playing for Boavista in first division in d same Portuguese league. This is to tell u irrespective of Iheanacho performance in camp,he w be picked ahead of any striker for now coz Rohr rate him very high or do u think it was easy for him to be picked ahead of Ighalo and Ideye against Algeria.I believe w should judge Nacho in Eagles jersey coz his Eagle goal ratio is awesome |

tbaba1234:Honestly i understand your point but the question is this can w rely on injury prone Anichebe,Isaac Sucess or Osimhen who is not even ready,Sadiq Umar not yet a product for Eagles, though not having playing time is not good for Nacho at this period and it w really affect his confidence but i hope it shake it up in d national team just like Mikel always doing anytime in national colour. |
| Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by Kog45(m): 1:16am On Feb 04, 2017 |
TheGoodJoe:Yes let us judge him in Super Eagle and see what happen but i believe d guy w not disappoint. |
| Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by Kog45(m): 1:50am On Feb 04, 2017 |
TheGoodJoe:Some player needs playing time to compete in d national team while some can still prove their worth despite warming d bench of their club sides, hope Nacho belongs to d latter. Why i am still sticking my neck to Nacho ahead of others was his goal ratio in d Eagles colour and those that can really slug it out with him are not always injury free, player like Success and Anichebe. |

Kog45: It is to check who is in form in camp. That is all I am saying. Whether dip in form without playing time or not. The question is, who among our players are the best to make the starting line-up. If Iheanacho is among the best, play him. When once we think best, the analysis is less complicated. |
| Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by TheGoodJoe(m): 5:42am On Feb 04, 2017 |
Kog45: Play the best in camp. Can you explain why a player, the Richard you pointed out was making waves but lost his place to a player in a lower League? It was when Westerhof checked them in camp, Yekini was better. If Kayode is scoring four goals every day in camp and others are scoring one. He is better. If during drills others are far behind than him, he should start. If a player can not perform in camp, there is a high chance he will not perform in the match. We the reports from camp came, it was clearly stated Nacho stood out from the other strikers. That was enough to convince Rohr to start Iheanacho ahead of them. Your points show that the best in camp should start but you are trying to use it against that notion. |

I just did a check on whoscored and the players characteristics supports my view. Guardiola likes Gabriel Jesus based on his defensive contributions. He stands out from lots of quality attackers including our own Iheanacho. From the look of things, Guardiola did not drop Iheanacho because of Gabriel Jesus is Brazilian. Guardiola likes the quality he brings to the team.

Unfortunately, I am thrilled by the football of Luiz Suarez who I feel is a gift to the game is weak when it comes to defensive contributions. I want Nacho developing his other attributes more than his defensive contributions if he is to become one of the best in the World. Funny enough, one of the best in the history of the game, Lionel Messi is also weak when it comes to defensive contributions.

Iheanacho should keep working hard, developing his other attributes. I do not want him too concerned with the defensive contributions because even the best players are poor in this aspect. What I want to see more of Iheanacho is him dropping deep ofte during build-up plays. This will keep him away from Bullying defenders and give him more time on the ball to show his fluid passing. He should also keep working on his pressing. I think these are more important than winning balls. If he can improve his defensive contributions, good but I do not think it is a priority.

TheGoodJoe:Then that analysis is suspect and not reliable. MESSI is not weak in defensive contribution. A casual watcher of Barcelona knows this. |

TheGoodJoe:"Messi’s defensive contributions are greater than ever. Messi has 40 tackles this season with a tackle rate of 58.8 percent (high for a striker), compared with Ronaldo’s 10 tackles and 38.5 percent rate. Messi also had 16 interceptions to Ronaldo’s four. What we do have for Messi was already perfectly adequate for a high-volume striker , and for 2014-15, his “defensive plays made per opponent possession” is now in the upper echelon of his cohort." https://fivethirtyeight.com/features/lionel-messis-majestic-season/ |

I think it's high time Rohr looks the way of this young man called Ademola-lookman. This boy can throw a long pass, dribble, shot, score goals and he can also play as a midfielder. ![]() I hope we don't lose another Alaba and the most hottest midfielder in the market, Dele Alli. We should have lose Iwobi but we invited him before he started playing for Arsenal. ![]() Please, let us looks at this lad and do some analysis. ![]() https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6TDo0I36iX4 |

Official : Ex-Nigeria U17, U20 Skipper Musa Mohammed Joins Bosnian Club FK Zeljeznicar Bosnia and Herzegovina Premier League club FK Željezničar Sarajevo announced the loan signing of Nigeria international right back Musa Mohammed on Friday. Because of his lack of playing opportunities, especially in the Turkish Super Lig, Istanbul Basaksehir have decided to loan out the defender to FK Željezničar for the next six months. On Saturday, Mohammed is expected to arrive in Antalya, where FK Željezničar are having a get-together ahead of the resumption of the league on February 25. Željezničar occupy the third position in the standings with 32 points garnered after 18 rounds. The Bosnia and Herzegovina transfer window remains open for business until February 17 |

joseph1013: People may not realize this but Messi’s non existent work rate has already reduced Neymar’s chance of success at Barca considerably. It has already helped push forward Villa’s transfer this summer because Villa can’t make up the ground to cover for Messi’s lazy bones. The Statistics Of all the players that I looked at, Lionel Messi ran the least. He ran 44,027 meters in 482 minutes of play, scoring 5 goals and getting 3 assists. Compare this to Xavi: 56,552 meters in 441 minutes. The raw numbers there are obvious: Messi is truly out-worked by Xavi. When compared to all the Barcelona players whose stats are available, Messi runs fewer meters. He played the most minutes, but ended up “working” less than anyone else. http://www.barcelonafootballblog.com/18698/messi-distance-limited-statistical-analysis-players-run-means/ |

joseph1013: He ran only one mile more than goalkeeper Pinto' ran one headline as post-match statistics revealed the Argentine had covered 4.2 miles during the game - half that of Atletico matchwinner Koke. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2601305/Messi-blamed-Barcelonas-defeat-running-just-1km-KEEPER.html Historically, Messi is not that type of player that works hard to retrieve the ball and seen as lazy on the pitch. The stats I posted shows it. If he has improved under Enrique, props to him. I have not watched much of him this season. From what I expect from Nacho, there are other areas that needs improving than tracking back to defend and win balls. |

joseph1013: Maybe, Messi can defend but in recent years, he is not lighting the world as he used to. Maybe Enrique wants Messi doing more defensively and that is making him not as electrifying as he used to. For Iheanacho, I want him ticking more boxes in the Creative Attack Midfield/Striker attributes than defensive. The whoscored characteristics confirms this. |

Wenger eyes midfield role for Iwobi ahead of Chelsea clash With the Gunners short of options in the middle, the Nigerian could drop back into the position which he has filled severally. Alex Iwobi could be restored to a midfield role in Saturday’s Premier League encounter against Chelseaas Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger looks to beef up his team. With Aaron Ramsey and Santi Cazorla injured, Granit Xhaka suspended plus Mohammed Elneny at the Africa Cup of Nations, the Gunners are a bit short in the middle for the Stamford Bridge cracker. And the Frenchman feels the Nigerian who was on target against Watford could fill the void as they hope to halt the Blues’ juggernaut. ‘’Yes, we are a bit short [in midfield] at the moment but I think we have young players who can do well in there,’’ Wenger told club website. ‘’We have Jeff Reine-Adelaide, we have of course Ainsley Maitland-Niles, we have Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain. ‘’Alex Iwobi can play in there. Elneny will come back after Sunday, so I still have some strengths.’’ The Emirates Stadium giants are third on the English Premier League log with 47 points – nine points behind Antonio Conte’s men. m.goal.com/x/en-ng/news/4110/nigerians-abroad/2017/02/03/32295492/wenger-eyes-midfield-role-for-iwobi-ahead-of-chelsea-clash |
