Though politics is not something I know much about but it is obvious now that dis present administration has systematically silenced every form of opposition (even good government gets criticized) . The way dis govt goes after people that openly say anything against them should give well meaning Nigerians concerns.

My brother, I have participated in protests and rallies, one thing I appreciate is that it is not about the noise and wail, it is about setting an Objective, a goal and vision. Meaning there is something you look forward to achieve.

But when you say you want to protest for just a day to "draw attention" and at the same time say it is against all tiers and arms of government. it looks vague!

But the action of the govt not allowing the youths to protest is a gross betrayal of democracy and the constitution.. This govt is not only going down the anti democratic route it is mean! There is no way this govt should not be voted out in 2019 as we now know their full intention. Even I was fooled by the statement of the acting president. Hear him! The youths have a legitimate right to protest, the security forces also have a right to their constitutional duties. Little did I know that this was a dubious statement. The acting president was speaking from both sides of his mouth!!!
I can't really say Nigerian youths per Se are cowards. For we now have youths in the sambissa forest that are ready to strap and detonate!

And I now believe he may have been procured by political contractors. For if 2face agitation came from deep and within he would not have backed down so easily. This govt has sent a subtle signal. Be prepared to die if you entertain any form of protest.
How can a protest march just from the stadium to the national theatre cause so much hullabaloo?

I understand that you have to defend Buhari but please be smart about it. It took almost six years for the dollar to raise from 170 to 230/216. It took Buhari less that a year to drag the dollar from about 203 he met it to 500 hundred. It was his brainless policy that resulted into scarcity. It was demand far exceeding supply that that drove to the dollar to what it is. Instead taking economic steps to address the situation, his frozen brain resulted to brute force. Can you name a single step Buhari has taken that have not increase the price of dollar

It took less than 6 months for the Naira to fall from 160 to 230 as soon as oil prices began to crash, and that was despite the $10billion the CBN blasted within that 6 months period of November 2014 to May 2015 to save the Naira; dont forget the oil price was still above $60 at the time. When you argue as well, you need to argue with some intelligence. The dollar was steady at 160 from 2010 - late 2014 when oil began to crash. If you dont know this, then little wonder you and many others always jump out to spew uninformed arguments.

Of course after spending $10bn of reserves to save the naira and the naira still crashed to 230 at the black market. With a paltry sum of $28.5bn left in the reserves, any smart individual knows it would have been silly to keep spending at that rate to save the naira hence the forex restrictions which further drove the price of the dollar high.

For the record, the botched protest, which I refer as jamboree was aimless and tactless. It lacked core objective and was highly bereft of purpose.

I will join any protest with a defined purpose and goal. I'm not impressed with Baba but I can't be silly.

I see reasons with Tuface for canceling a protest which he admittedly did not convene. But I don't readily agree with your reasons against the protest in the first place. The Arab spring of 2010 that brought down authoritarian regimes across the Arab League started in the same vein, by the youth who were dissatisfied with their economies and iron fist rule of their leaders much as is presently being experienced in Nigeria and parts of Africa today. There was no definable objective at the time it started in Tunisia, the young people were tired of the old guard. We in nigeria are tired of the same old politicians recycling themselves and also recycling our problems for us. Why can't we have stable light!? when will tomorrow come for our young leaders!? Why can't we have true federalism!? Why would our politicians always think they can insult our intelligence with high reaching promises that they know they have no intention of fulfilling after they win elections!?
