He is correct. That's a quote within a quote. The first would need a double quotation while the quote within would require a single quotation mark.

Lol. No he is actually very correct. There are 2 pairs of quotation marks in the sentence. That's why its preceded by the letter 'a'. Its like saying, John is an 'I dont care' person. And then there is an 'a' in the word ant. 2 quotes in the sentence.
