Twoods I'd really love to see your comment to me that justwise thought was stupid and deleted. I have some time on my hand to take you to the cleaners.

This is coming from one of those talking about respect?

Let me pretend as if I did not see that section in bold for now.

Morning All.

I'm new here and I must say I've learnt a lot. I've been trying to summarise info from the first thread and gradually I'm getting it.

Thanks to all those who make efforts to provide answers and constructive criticisms.

Here goes my issue.

My son and I have just been issued a B1 / B2 for the purpose of vacation only. My interview went thus

VO: Good Morning, how are you today
Me: I'm good thank you

VO: so why do you wanna go to the US
Me: My cousin whom I haven't seen in over 15 years is inviting us and my husband was there last year, he had a good time and he's promised taking us on a family vac.

VO: tell me about your job
Me: I work as a sales consultant with a travel company in the holidays dept. My core is building travel packages and making travel arrangements for both corporate and individual clients.

VO: How about your husbands job:
Me: he is a banker. He works with x bank in lagos

VO: Have you travelled with your son before:
Me: yes, we were in dubai for vacation last year

VO: Do you intend seeing a doc for any reason: NO

The issue is obvious. ( wish I had been on this forum earlier).

How do I now state at the POE that I wanna give birth in the US since I was issued a visa for vacation purpose only? Will my cash and card and upfront payment be enough as evidence of payments? My cousin/ host is in chicago but the Chicago poe stories I'm hearing are not for the fainthearted at all.

What lifelines do I have? I'm expecting by mid July and I intend leaving at the end of May. Any July moms can also be in touch so we can relate.

Thank you.

Go on vacation as stated and have your baby in Nigeria or elsewhere.

Since you are expecting by mid July you don't have the time to use that visa for child birth and most importantly you were pregnant during the interview and failed to disclose it.

Will your kids ever live in the US? - yes.
Will they work and pay into the Medicare system? - yes
Will your kids probably dislike freeloaders using their taxes and not paying for it? - dear God yes.

So exactly what did I say about "your children" that was untrue? The sheer amount of useless drama on these boards is outstanding.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA. I feel your pain dear. You are so fixated on the reason why this thread exists. That is why you are always here even when you do not need information from us. Don't worry, we will impeach justwise and give you admin rights to block all of us. Funny individual. You go dey alright grin kiss

There is such a thing as honesty and trustworthiness. If those were in ample supply amongst Nigerians, this thread would not exist. Ask yourselves why you have to constantly suffer through the indignity of explaining every detail of your childbirth when the average Norwegian does not? QED

Seriously can't people argue anymore without it being a free for all brawl. C'mon....

We learn more from arguments than lectures because ideas are tossed about and the brainstorm is key.

But when it becomes all out war, information, time, energy and space, pages are just wasted.

Let's allow the newbies ahead to have the encouragement to read because if it was me, few pages of what just passed and I wouldn't even bother.

No No No please. Not to be a spoil sport, but this is the reason a lot of people have a hard time convincing VOs and CBPs that they are genuine in their applications and travel plans. If you knew you were pregnant at the time of your interview, you should have stated so. Good thing you can get all the genuine info you need here. Use the visa for the purpose it was issued to you.
Not sure if you still have time to go, come back and still travel for childbirth. But any CBP officer will know instantly that you were pregnant at the time of visa issuance and failed to disclose it. Don't jeopardize your chances. You can browse through this thread and past threads to equip yourself with knowledge. smiley

Did your friend try buying PTA from the bank? They are begging customers now so that they can offload their stock and make their returns to CBN. Banks are doing @375, not sure about the travellex guys. Today is Thursday, if she hasn't, she can still make a go at it., Who knows, she might be lucky.

Hi everyone. Great job and thanks for sharing valuable information on this platform.

I'm planning to travel to Houston in May, is it advisable to travel via Turkish airline. Its the cheapest I have seen. Has anyone used this airline recently and are border control officers really suspicious of flights originating from that region?
Some people have said to avoid Qatar and Emirate.

][b]Emirates doesn't use the port health certificate,I trI'd to get it but was told it was not required. They have like two different forms u can download from their website. One is the MEDIT and the other is a regular form which u need to give your doctor to fill and sign as well as ur fit to fly from your doctor. I travelled on the 12th of janunary at 35wks and 3days.

All I have said is void if they have changed their policy in the last couple of days. SeArch their website n Print their policy.take it with u to the airport.

is it a new policy?cos my wife used port health certificate last time she travelled with emirate.

Thank you @twoods @justwise @mimimum @austine2020 .

But what are my chances if I go along with cash and all possible evidence? I am just looking for a way out to enable me have my baby there. I can't travel now and return again in june. If I go earlier than I should and I am allowed in based on a vacation only, can I just request for an extension with a doctors report or something? Or if my passport is stamped with 6 months validity, can I just stay since I will have enough time and then i can show all my receipts when leaving?

OMG, I have erred and I really regret this.

It is well sha. Favour will find me.

Re: Give Birth In USA: Cost And Procedures Part 5 by mimimum: 10:08am On Mar 02, 2017
It is really a dicey one. The issue is, even if you pass the screening of the CBP officer (if you are not showing enough to arouse suspicion), you may still encounter problems with renewals and subsequent reentry. But wait o, how will you enter with "cash and all possible evidence" and still want to convince and CBP officer that you are there for just vacation? Even if you are allowed to go in, you may be stamped in for just a little over the time you indicated you were spending for your vacation.

There really isn't a right way to fix this, the foundation was wrong. I can only hope it works out for you, cos like I said, it is dicey.

Please don't bother. You might just complicate an already complex issue. Justwise suggested you have your baby here. I think that is your best bet if you don't want to encounter problems with going to the US in future.

Thank you everyone.

So in summary these are the options I will consider.

1) Go for vacation with my son this March and then travel alone in June to give birth. (I am really considering this).

2) Have my baby here and go for vacation later. (This means I will have to get a visa for the baby too.)

But then if I go alone now, is it possible I am asked why I did not come with my son since we applied for the visa together?

Thanks for the sugggestions so far.

@ Justwise please advise...
Hello everyone, please I need advice... I got my visa in September 2016 for family vacation in Dec but cld not travel till Feb 2017. I'm back now from the vacation and plan to travel for child birth in April, hope that will not raise any questions at the POE if I say I'm back for childbirth since I just came back from vacation in Feb. I just wanted to use the visa for what I was given first which is vacation so as to avoid any problems at future renewals. Has anyone been in a similar situation please

Check the policy of the airline you are flying with, or you call their customer care.

Generally around 3 weeks.

Please mamas and papas let's not forget to come back and write about are experiences, bills etc. haven't seen any of that lately. Especially people birthing in unpopular areas. Eg @olaboss. There was also one Florida bound mom too some pages back.

This is what has kept this thread going and if we stop giving back then there's no point telling newbies to 'go and read', what will they be reading?

So please please and please, no experience is trivial. @boluwagin I suggest you go to the records office and inquire there about how to correct the mistake or you call the vital records office. Please do share your experience and outcome when you have sorted it out. Gracias

If i were you, i'd travel now for vacation, come back, then go have a baby in May. That last line i highlighted is a bad one... the CBP officer will see that and you showing up with a protruding belly will be a red flag. Yours is a cautionary tale - be honest at all times.
