Like which one
I think prof recommended sumec Firman 3.8kva for someone some times ago
I don't know how lutian 3600 key starter will turn to in the future but for now am enjoying it less noise with minimal fuel consumption

Good day prof,

i have a 5kva Generator, the technician changed the piston and rings and a new top cylinder , last week, but to my greatest shock, black smoke was coming out from the gen,the man said it will normalize, just this morning, its bring out white smoke.

what could be responsible for this and what do i do.

2. i also have a 3.5kva generator, the coil/ alternator is bad.How do i identify original copper coil.

thanks.

Greetings Prof, how do you differentiate between a faulty avr and a weak capacitor.

faulty avr:: the voltage increase when engine increase,
the voltage is below or more than 220v
the current blink rapidly.

faulty capacitor:: the current decrease even when the engine is high,
tha cap swell

the smoking of the gen is still about ur piston and rings, is either the engineer did not good part or he is a novice on rings issues,or ur engine block as finish, but if this is ur 1-3 time of changing the rings, the block will still be ok.

Increasing the firing speed doesnt make the gen consume more fuel i hope? i mean the vibration of the hair clipper and noise is very high

it does normally consume if ur gen high, but if is very low it will vibrate the clipper to much, cos the ahm icreases when the gen is very low.

Hello Prof..
I have a 2.5kva Tiger Gen. Just to be sure, there is visible flickering of light bulb and fridge door light after running the Gen for just 20min, there's no difference even when I ramp it up, is it capacitor or AVR?

note: I use this same Gen to power borehole pump

Hello, will appreciate if you're throw more light on this:

I visited alaba today and saw loads of tokumbo gen at a bit affordable prices. I want to know if there's much difference btw buying brand new gen and tokumbo gen. I can save more than15k buying a tokumbo gen rather than a brand-new of same capacity and make. Also, the sellers brag that the Tokunbo were better than the brand new as they were designed to be used abroad thereby making it stronger than what is produced brand new for africans.

Can someone kindly throw more light on this. Should I go for the Tokunbo or brand new considering all factors, and most importantly, cost.

for sure tokunbo is better than the new one they produce and send to nigeria,
but one thing u need to know,(1) as any major part like rings, engine block, coil, are they been change before now? cos if any as beeen change here in nigeria,it will still be china part we do replace with, cos tokunbo gen most be faulty or close to expiry date, that is while they push out as fairly used,
(2).are the part available?
