dre11:My people, this is not our Igbo tradition where i come from, this is just greed my people. There is difference between inheritance and purchasing with once money, if she bought the land as a gift to her father than that is a different thing altogether. |

This guy should go and cover his face in shame ........ A land that was rightfully bought by his sister, and now wants to use tradition as camouflage to take the land Even if the tradition favours him, he is a coward for even thinking of taking the land I despise such kind of men........ He is just a coward Would not be surprised if he is also a very lazy man... |

carzola:Hello bro. Must you talk that way? If you really love Biafra, put in your best to make Nigeria a better country, give them reasons to stay as one. People like you are the reason Biafrans want their freedom... Learn to make meaningful contributions when needed. Please don't be obsessed with Biafra. |

hammerF:This is the so-called 'educated' tribe which claims to be champion of female children right, very amusing. More amusing is that they call others 'backward'. Can anything be more backward than this? People are now hiding under the guise of tradition to commit atrocities. The Igbo's tradition encourages women both married and single to be productive, this is not a case of inheritance. The Lady has 100 percent right to her property and is even entitled to some token amount as inheritance from her parent by right. The brother is a big fool so the Lady can as well empty her bank account to him idiot. |

Every Igbo person should be ashamed of such tradition. |

this is barbaric..the truth is the custom might be valid and subsisting but I'll advice her to get a lawyer challenging the applicability of the custom to her on the ground that it's contrary to S43 of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria |

The truth is that the brother is trying to protect his sister an exploitative husband. The full story is not out yet but there exists no such culture anywhere in Igboland. |

I. want to believe that the brother and his greedy supporters have mental problem. The lady should just get a good lawyer. Where was the tradition when she bought the land? |
| Re: Brother Battles Married Sister Over Landed Property Citing Igbo Tradition by Nobody: 8:06pm On Mar 03, 2017 |

So if the lady is learned with high paying job b4 marriage she should transfer her certificates and job to the bro too including her brain she use study... Or having good moving business she should hand over too.. chai I sense selfishness and greed from that family |
| Re: Brother Battles Married Sister Over Landed Property Citing Igbo Tradition by Amarabae(f): 8:07pm On Mar 03, 2017 |
This case has nothing to do with Igbo tradition.
The brother is at fault and the lady should charge him to court. |
