....build your faith to the level of understanding that God has His reason (only Him understand) of taking them to Himself. Either old or young, we ALL are going to die anyway. So, why taking out our frustration on God whenever our love ones passed on.

When my mom lost her only brother, she hated God and everything that has to do with Him.She became a sadist. She hated life. These feelings n actions are normal but you will see everything wrong with it until it has happened to you.

Stupidity at its hieght. Did you create your sister?
Who even told you your sister is seeking vengance for her killers?

Little minds, have you ever imagined that for a seed to develop into a tree, it must first die? Who are you to question God anyway?

If your sister was a child of God, she has found better place than this rat race. Wake up and grow up spiritually.

Right... he makes a good point.

OK... The problem with most Christians is that they think that becoming a Christian and following God means no more problems, no more issues. everything is OK.

Well, the early Christians did not have that luxury .A good number of them died for believing in God..... despite all the promises of blessings.

But why does God allow bad things happen to good people?

Recently on BBC, the daughter of a missionaries told her parents story. Her father was a missionary and a good man who died in the course of the job....killed by the idol worshippers he was trying to reach (no offense to my pagan brothers and sisters). What did his wife do? His wife went and took his place.... ministering to the people who killed her husband along with another widow..... and many were converted.... Including the men who killed her husband.

Now... If the woman had given up on the faith, and said that Jesus is a failure for not protecting her husband, would the souls of her husband's killers be saved.

Jesus said that we are the light of the world. Sometimes that means shining when we don't feel like it, when all hope is lost, when we are personally hurt. But we have to shine..... because somewhere among the people who hurt us is a Saul who will bring light to more millions.

Let us talk about saul/paul. He persecuted Christians. He took part in the death of a good man called Stephen. But Saul was converted by Jesus on the road to Damascus. The job was completed by Ananias and Barnabas..... members of the same church that he was prosecuting. Now what if Ananias had said that Jesus failed...since he could not protect Stephen.? What if Barnabas had left the faith? Where would Paul be?

Jesus gave you a mission as Christians.... gave us a mission.... to be a little light in a dark world. It is not comfortable business being a light. You may have to forgive, have to love, have to forget hurts done to you. Because you have a mission as a Christian... to help reconcile an evil world to the Lord. Not to sit back and expect your blessing for doing God a favour by following him.

The problem with the ex Christian the OP quoted is that he was following God for favors. That is not the kind of follower God wants.

I know that when a person is so pained abt.the happening of a paparticular thing (particularly when it didn't end in his/her favour), his comments pattaining that particular thing is driven by the dissapointments or pains that arose from that. events... me am not here to judge the brother oo neither am I saying that the death of his sister is enough reason for him to call Jesus" useless"... all am saying is that I leave it to him and God... bearing in mind that God cannot be mocked.... may God forgive him

1.When I made the comment I was interested in the original point the op made, hence my post.Sorry if I came across as judgemental.

2.I agree that most Christians here have been harsh and judgemental. That is wrong, and a reflection of the fact most Christians in Nigeria are not into Christian apologetics.... is defence of the faith.

3.Like i said, i was focused on adressing the point made./raised.....ie the fact that God allows bad things to happen to his followers.that was my intention.

God bless.
Thanks man,I understand your point better.Maybe I was the judgemental one here.God bless you for being civil.

He's so luck that he said it to merciful Jesus. If it was Holy Sprit he said it to, his sins would have guaranteed him automatic hell cos it is said biblically that the sin to Holy Spirit does not have a forgiveness. So, leave the guy, he would still come to his senses wen time comes.

Amateur!
Your opinion though.

Thank God you were still a-baby-christian then, you would have joined your sister and gave your family double sorrow.

What if you were the murdered one (the ways of the Lord ...)?
Where would you have been to rant against your maker?

The Jesus Christ that you are ridiculing was also murdered by people like you yet he didn't blame anyone rather he bathled, won and rose victoriously.

Your sis and u can equally live above death if only you can win the battle by living right and being faithful.

Take heart bro. Many have gone that way and more will surely embrace same route; including you and i.

It pains, but no option.

He's absolutely right in a sense. Jesus himself claimed to be powerless but xtians always overlook it.

Jesus claimed every human trait but for some reason xtians ascribe such statements to his humility and magnanimity. They even say God was being humble by eating, deficating and being stoned... If such a Jesus were alive today, he'd be thrown in prison and abandoned.

Jesus never claimed divinity and always professed his human inabilities.

Thank God the guy has now found God and knows what God is not.
