They actually have little expectations. They only need money for food rent(a room will do) clothes. Basic necessities. Schooling is free to secondary. Basically zero costs for having kids Now the rich man wants status, big car, big house, big school, big grammar, big clothes, vacation etc Now the irony is big man pities poor man and dashes him used clothes and stipends for food. Basically satisfying poor man's basic necessities and taking care of poor man's kids( poor man will send this kids to serve in rich man's house- set for life).
