as much as I agree that the issue isn't as serious as other national issues, i still believe if he is due for retirement he should retire and give fresh and young minds an opportunity atleast for a start towards addressing other serious national issues.

The Senate did not vet Hameed Alli's appointment as Comptroller General of Customs. He was solely appointed by the executive. He was appointed by Mr Buhari.

Thank you my brother. Most Nigerians are not seeing beyond their noses. Even if all the senators are corrupt, we should not allow the executive to muzzled the institution. If not for the fact that the Senators opposed the introduction of custom duties on old vehicles by now all of us will be paying custom duties on our old vehicles. . A whole lot can be done. Budget for customs can be withheld. The law establishing customs can be amended. Further letters from the presidency can be treated with disdain. The point is that attempts must be made to strengthen our institutions no matter who is occupying whatever position.

They can do this and a lot more but it is not as easy as you are trying to make it sound. They can refuse to budget money for the NCS but apart from being reckless and irresponsible because of the importance of the NSC the president can refuse to sign the budget into law. My problem with them why is the issue of wearing or non wearing of uniform so important that they have to relegate other important national issues to the background?

Abeg, since the election in 2015, is any one else noticing that Saraki is Nigeria's MVP politician? (I don't even necessarily mean that in a good way).

He's like the Maradona of Nigerian politics. So slippery, resilient, bold-faced, cool under pressure, persistent. And he just thrives in the midst of the worst turbulence and trouble. Like he's in his element. Who hasn't he confronted since 2015?
