Nigerian churches are gradually losing their calling. In short, I suspect most of their calls were just missed calls.
That your church member is a musician does not make him a gospel artiste. Gospel artistes minister the Holy Spirit and advance the Kingdom of God through praise and worship. Korede's songs are just 'feel good' songs, even Godwin.
Churches should be careful the kind of spirits they allow people to minister to their members.

98% of those condemning Korede's going to church might not have gospel songs on their playlist. One of our major problems in Nigeria apart from corruption is HYPOCRISY!

Though, I like Korede Bello but I don't think this should be a welcoming idea.. The church of God should not discriminated against any one, but embracing hip hop musicians to perform songs in church doesn't just seem right. The same way a church invited Pasuma for song ministration about two years ago, and daddy Adeboye had to withdraw the workership/pastorship of the planners

So, are they trying to say that cats and dogs can mount the pulpit to perform song ministration just because the artist released an album and one of which has just one gospel related track out of other wordly tracks that make up the album ?

So, because Korede Bello sang "Godwin" automatically renders him worthy of performing song ministration in church?

For me though, he should be accepted in any church, his music isn't as vile as other secular acts, the church isn't known for rejection.

I beg to disagree with you. When Jesus lived, you know there are many teachers and leaders who are staunch followers of the law (Law of Moses)? Did Jesus relate with anyone of them? When the harlot came to see Jesus, one of the disciples wanted to drag her away but Jesus asked that they let her do what she wanted to do.

Korede bello is a Muslim who converted to Christianity just like Pst Tunde Bakare, he is a secular musician, he has to make money, he has to live well, there's a demand, and he's supplying.
So will you now chase korede bello off to the devil cos of that?

First of all how many secular artists go to church? Second, how many of them are identified by their churches? Are they just going? Or are they trying to improve their spiritual life?

Korede Bello may be a secular artist but he is only secular cos that's what his current profession is about, he's not a vain or secular person. Can you compare him with kiss daniel? Or lil kesh? Or reekado?

And even though he is a member of LRA, this is the first time he'll ever perform in the church, hasn't he been to so many redeemed churches? And so many other denominations?
