@Collinsfbi. I disagree with you entirely as your post in misleading. If you are applying for a UK visit (tourist) visa. You're required to provide confirmed hotel booking as part of your documentation unless you're planning to stay with your invitee. Then you must provide their address including telephone number as well as documentation to support your intention to stay with your invitee. You may wish to go back and read about @wales600 reasons for refusal reproduced below. Like I said most hotels on booking.com offer free cancellation or confirmed booking without charging your credit/debit card, which means that you can cancel your booking if you do not get the visa. So, it does not cost you a kobo to book a hotel.

You are right bro, it used to be and from your quote, that was around early 2016 but now it's not longer compulsory and if you add it, it doesn't add anything to your application again. Even before it must be a paid hotel but now, applicants won't be refused without hotel booking. It was reviewed recently after your quote.

Thanks for the update which is true. However i doubt if home office will ever call an applicant to request for additional documentation for a visit visa. Remember for a visit visa, there is no appeal or admistrative review. The rule is to provide enough document to support your application irrespective of if it's needed or not. Since original documents are no longer submitted. The onus is on the applicant to make his case before the ECO.

Your salary is your primary source of income. This you must declare. Your business is secondary, declaring it is optional unless it is reflected on your bank statment. You only need to point out to ECO any suspicious large or irregular inflow into your bank account as coming from your online business. This disclosure, remove the suspicion from ECO of inflating your bank balance for visa purpose. You are free to take many snapshots (www.screenhunter.com) of your online business webpages and include them as supporting documentation. This is fair enough, after all, there many people making a lot of money online on e-bay, amazon.com, Jiji, Jumia. Disclose any large amount inflow into your bank account which is not salary as this help to clarify things for the ECO.

Hi everyone. I applied for a UK visa 2 weeks ago and I was denied. I have my own fashion boutique. In the form I stated that I earn N6,000,000 in a year. But in the refusal letter it was stated that I earn that in a month which I didn't state In my form. I'm confused at the moment. I submitted 3 different account statements with close to about 4million in the accounts. I've attatched the refusal letter and also the part of the form where I wrote the amount I earn in a year. The main purpose of this trip is for our 3 month old baby spend some time with my wife's family in the UK as he's their first grandchild. We don't have sufficient fund for the trip in one particular account so we would like to combine all our accounts both personal and joint for the application in order to stand a better chance at obtaining the visas. Is it better to transfer all the fund into one account or leave them the way they are and explain in a covering letter? Should we both select co-sponsor in the application? For the cost of the trip and amount available for the trip, should we both input the total cost of the trip as a family in our individual applications or should I input this amount in my application while my wife inputs zero or should we divide the total amount between us and input an amount based on our account balances. I also read somewhere that our applications can be linked, please how is that done and which of the UK visa application sites allows this?

Also, our salaries are never the same in any two months based on the nature of our jobs and in addition, I usually receive a big percentage of my annual salary at the beginning of the year while the rest is spread over the year. Should we take an average of our salaries for the six months we would submit our bank statement as our monthly salaries or should it be an average of our total annual salaries?

Be careful!
If the visa officer sees that you are using most of your savings for one trip you will be refused.
There must be a substantial amount remaining after your trip or they will suspect that you are going to stay in UK.

The ECO erred in his/her judgement of your application,you were judged based on the assumption that you earn #60m a months which contradicts what you filled in the form that it is per annum,base on this you can write a strong worded letter to BDHC in lagos,copying their Sheffield office and asking for a review of your case.it is obvious that you are judged wrongly....but where you might suffer a defeat is the reference to not stating the source of your income.but in the real sense of it ,it has nothing to do with them,they are just looking for a way to deny you

1.i ve an elder brother in uk,, he had been there 4 a while and sent an iv to me, in fact the iv letter was dated march 20 2017
2.He has all necessary documented permits and a house in his name. And he has written that he is sponsoring the trip
3.I want to aplly for family visit to visit him for like 3 weeks schedule for July 2017
4.pls if I apply online now for instance, like when will my interview date be 7
4.i had applied before, like 8yrs ago and was refused,, then I was working in a bank, wher I worked for like 9yrs, I left banking like 4yrs banking, went to A merica and returned back on the specied time for me to return,3wks, though d visa had expired now
5.Since I left banking basically to obey and start the work of God ,, in church ministry,,, that I ve been doing, but with little businesses, poultry farming business.
6.I am married with 3 kids in secondary and primary sch ages, and my wife does business.
7.I have an account that does not ve a big balance as I dont receive salaries, but jus my poultry sales tansactions and personal transaction,,, but the present balance is less than 200k.

I dont want to make any error and want to be on a good experience guide,just to visit him after 13yrs and return to my cleric job and my family because he was sick sometimes and operated upon.

Please I'm confused and I do not want to make mistake, this summer I'm thinking of taking my family to Edinburgh festival, I have 2 yrs visiting visa myself which i got last year when i went for a conference, My wife and 2 kids needs visa, my first child and my wife travelled with me in 2014 as dependants on my postgraduate student visa and my second child was born in UK during my study period. However I left UK immediately after graduation because of work and my wife was waiting for NHS appointment date for the circumcision of my son who was born in UK, they waited 2 months without results before we decided we would do it in Nigeria and they left for home after overstaying for about 60 days. At the airport in UK no form was filled and no stamps was given, SO DOES THIS ATTRACT A BAN IF THEY APPLY THIS TIME?.

No it does not, you can over stay in the UK for upto 90days without any problem but don't forget to declare this in the form when asked.

Though i think that rule was changed recently but since your over stayed before the new rule comes in you will be fine.

Declare it and state like you did here why you and your family overstayed.

Justwise, like I stated in my previous post our salaries vary due to the nature of our jobs. For example, none of us has received the same amount in the last six months and it's going to continue like that. I'm not really asking to be told our chances of securing visas, I'm only asking how our applications should be filled as regards the financial section considering we both don't have fixed salaries (should we just calculate the average of six month payslip we plan to submit), how our applications can be linked, whether we both can select co-sponsor since we are using funds from our many accounts. Should we also divide and allocate cost of the trip in each application based on our salaries?

Our budget for the trip is about 700k i.e 550k as flight cost (qatar is $1,719.4 at N312.18/$ according to oanda) and 150k as local transport+sight seeing+miscellaneous. Accommodation and feeding will be borne by my wife's family in the UK that's why I omitted those costs.

To clarify, there is a checklist you print after filing the online application and you tick as appropriate in relation to the document you are attaching to your application.

One of the items in the checklist is evidence of family members remaining in home country while I travel to the uk.

So my question is what kind of evidence can I provide for the above given that I am still single with no marriage certificate/children birth certificate. I only have my parents.
