To start this is a civil suit. You need less proof to win a verdict.

Secondly, your stance would be valid if Dino was suing about all SR attacks on his character. He is not. He is suing about one major lie.

Even seasoned and experienced lawyers will tell you that, no case is 'open n shut'

And who told you he graduated, the VC's presentation at the Senate? How will that hold under adversary cross examination?

What about the discovery powers you are going to give to SR to dig further into ABU and Dino, see what they have been able to unearth without discovery and behind the scene, now imagine them showing up at the registry office and demanding for records, results, etc or asking Dino to produce x,y,z that is relevant to their case.

This is one big gamble ABU cannot afford, no matter which way it goes; ABU will come out of it tarnished within the international community e.g. as to how they permitted someone that failed a required course to graduate, the details of those carryovers will come to light and SR might stumble on other stuff that ABU would have want keep private about admissions, graduations, favoritism, etc.
