Good afternoon, thank you for your response to all my enquiries. Someone told me that most medical laboratory scientist from Nigeria (BMLS holders) are classified as medical laboratory technicians by AIMS. IS THIS TRUE?

Is there anyone in this forum, who is a BMLS hold and has been assessed as a medical laboratory scientist by AIMS? And which location did u write your exam?

what advice will you give me before submitting my documents for assessment?

Good afternoon all,
pls i seek ur advice

My calculated points
Age 30 points

Education 15points

IELTS 10 points

Work experience (my issue) I have a degree in agriculture from a federal university, with no formal payslip or pension as i have been practicing all on my own, but i have a registered farm which is close to a year now.The question now is, is it possible to use ds my 1 year personal farm experience as vetasses requires a minimum of a year experience, if its possible what document would i be needing just to meet up with the eligibility, i know i wont be getting any point for the experience as i plan to go for state nomination, thanks

It's quite very tasking claiming points from self employment. You can try and get 20 points from English language, I believe you can scale tru with that.

@ bellong,

What occupation do you want to nominate?

Self employment is an experience as long as the job descriptions of the business align with ANZSCO for the occupation you are nominating.

Your bank statement showing income from the business, CAC registration of the business, evidence of tax are what you need.

As you know that CAC write descriptions of the business in the registration documents, choose an occupation that aligns with what is in your business registration docs.

Goodluck

Hello Pals,
Please, I have an urgent question, I have Ph.D., MSc, and BSc in chemistry from ABU Zaria, with 6years working experiences in my field i.e chemist.
When I sent my document for VETESSES assessments it was a positive result but the working experience was reduced to 5years one month. My problem is that in the result they said my Ph.D. is equivalent to AQF masters, and My masters equivalent to AQF BSc and my BSC is equivalent to AQF associate degree. Please in the EOI registration can I still claim points for the Ph.D. or not?

House I beg help your guy with advice or should I apply for a reassessment of my qualification?

I really don't know whether "Olori ebi" ( chief bellong) has done it before' cos he claimed that he believed in such exams like TOEFL and IELTS than exchanging ideas with coded robots/ coded computers.
IELTS thus appear to be what most people can relate with in Nigeria, but if your accent has not being battered by "amala dudu& ewedu " like some of us, with good preparation you go hit PTE-A hard.
I even want somebody to deshine PTE-A on my behalf, so you may try registering for PTE-A and debit my account.

@Moscow30,

No you can't claim point for PhD. Be contented with the Master's for now. VETASSES is a crazy body.

Make up for your point in English. At least you have 10points from experience.

udi2111,

I have written TOEFL once years ago. I found it quite easy at the time. However, for every exam, your judgement or decision cannot be based on other people's experience as many factors need consideration.
Try some online practice tests, then decide the exam to write.

Please, is it a must to write and pass the exam before she can get a positive assessment and PR will be granted or she can get the PR and write the exam when she arrives in Australia as a permanent resident.
Thank you.

Please note that we have contacted AIMS but was not given a direct answer but refered us to Australia Immigration.[/quote]

To be assessed as a Medical Laboratory Scientists, he need to write the professional exam, either in SA or Dubia. Talking of PR, Medical Laboratory Scientist is on SOL and CSOL. If he wish to write the exam in Australia, he can choose to use the result of his first stage of assessment as MLT, which is only on CSOL, meaning it is depending on availability of state or region nominating the profession. Presently, only NT is nominating MLT. More states might sponsor MLT in after July.

So it's better he gets done with the first stage of assessment first.

My Chief, why the coloured copy thing?
I received a positive assessment as MLT, with an invitation to write the professional exam. I didn't do any coloured photocopy.
The deal is to have a clean photocopy.

My experience wasn't funny at all..I had to re-send all my copies again to AIMS (Extra courier money and printer ink). That's why I told him to make coloured copies 'if he can', so that it can be 'clean' enough grin..and also to make sure the contact details of the notary public is on the documents..

It's better to err on the path of caution, than to err on the path of prudence grin

Who should the transcript be address to in AIMS?
Registrar or Director?
Thank you
