You guys are really doing a great job here. @Kheyindae congrats in advance. I pray for God's favour all the way and on others too. However, you need to be clear on what the message from CIC states. Did the VO request for a confirmation in terms of an updated bank statement or a written assurance confirming funds in your account? If it's the latter, then I think what you require will be more like a bank confirmation letter that will also state your current available funds. Please clarify.

it is the latter due to currency controls in effect in Nigeria, thank you.

Good morning, I really do not think so.You see, these VOs have a way of crafting their requests even though they already know what they're looking out for. You know if they had wanted another bank statement they would have specifically requested for an updated bank statement. Let me ask, did you declare some of your funds in Fixed deposit and Treasury bills? And have the maturity dates for these investments passed?.But again, they understand what the forex situation is in Nigeria hence they just require an evidence from CBN to show that you can actually export the funds abroad which is where those circulars come in.

Pls we need to be cleared about this, what exactly are they requesting for now?
If it's another bank statement reconfirmation, someone should pls clarify and if it's bank confirmation letter or CBN circulation, should should pls deem fit to inform us or post a copy here. I submitted my application two weeks ago and have not heard anything, I paid a semester fee with the payment receipt included in the application. Pls for those in this category keep updating us. Thanks

Good morning Obaxlove, I wish you all the best in your application. I think you need to be specific in addressing the VO's rrequest if it applies to you. If the VO wanted an updated bank statement, the VO would have specifically mentioned that. But the VO was very clear, "please provide a written assurance of funds in deposit from your bank". Once you request got your bank confirmation letter to reflect you available balance, this not only suffices for what is termed 'written assurance' but also shows you have the money. If you noticed there are other options, one of which was very clear and mentioned a Canadian bank account. The other 'bank draft'.

My thinking is that if you included yourself as a sponsor and did mention that you have Tbills which clearly shows that your account was debited for the Tbills to be invested on your behalf, now if the maturity date had passed or very near, they VO may require that written assurance just to confirm the balance in order to determine if that Tbills value has now dropped in your account which they believe should be more accessible to you once in your account. Some may argue that they already submitted proof of treasury bill investment. But think deeply and draw inferences from this new dimension from VOs. Remember they already have your previous documents and can do the calculations. Above all, pray for favour and grace.

well it does make sense now if it is pertaining tbill. but your latter statement give the tone that this isnt a good sign either way

Oh no. Please don't get me wrong. It's not a bad thing at all. Infact I believe it's a good sign 100%. God is involved. My last statement was just to say that it's a new dimension because you know that they really didn't use to request for this. So it's just to understand that it is not a complicated and difficult request if you really dimension it. Very easy to provide. Then pray and collect your TRV. A few people actually got this request alongside their medical mail. So yeah it's a very very Infact over very good thing.

So in a nutshell one has to submit another SOA with respect to dis new directives? And what if you have a sponsor abroad who paid ur fees, does it also apply to the sponsor?

Hello Eraytee. Many thanks for your mail. Again you know that the request did not say 'updated bank statement'. All they want Is a written assurance/confirmation of which a bank confirmation letter that captures your available funds should very much suffice. For sponsors abroad, I may not be able to speak to that because as you already know, not everyone would get this request for additional information.

You're welcome Eraytee. And well done for the work that you as well as others continue to do on this platform. I usually don't like to comment on Nairaland. Infact I last operated my account 10 years ago. But when I saw this new dimension from the VOs with regards to the context of our discussions above, which is not a bad thing for them to do, I thought it was necessary to provide more clarity based on my understanding of a few things so that we don't create any issues on our already successful trv application. God bless.

Hello everyone, I'm a newbie here. I'm considering going for M.sc in Canada. I don't know much about the process. I need little assistance from the masters here.
I need information on these things:
1. what's the minimum tuition fee in Canadian for courses such as public health, Environmental toxicology, medical biochemistry etc
2. Is there any website you know of that can give me a list of schools there and also help me narrow my research.
3. modest cost of living
4. Any chance of getting scholarship, grants etc?
5. How do I go about admission application?

I anticipate responses to the above questions. I would really appreciate. God bless
