Goodest morning to all your able cooks. Please my friend and I are looking to impress her in-laws tomorrow and we have a lot of menu planned amongst which is catfish pepper soup. Will it be alright to cook and store it today without it losing its freshness tomorrow? Thanks a ton...may God continue to fill our tables.
I am not a professional chef but I love cat fish and know that there is a taste difference from when it is just prepared and when it is warmed up for further consumption the next day.
It takes about 30-45mins to prepare one, please make if fresh on the d-day so all can enjoy. Just my 2cents.

Thank you...you are too much. One last stretch here...the fish will be gotten today. Transported from market down here...do u think I should kill it and put in the fridge? That might make it lose its freshness but will it still pass?

You can kill and put in the fridge, not freezer o! It will still retain it's freshness since it hasn't been cooked.
All the best tomorrow and don't forget to take some pictures for us here who can't make it.

I don't think there is any need to marinate with anything to avoid stories that touch.
Just wash with cool water and put in the fridge, tomorrow you can then wash properly with warm water to get rid of any slim before cooking.

Roger that! Thanks. If all goes well I might share a picture grin. Included on the menu is Ofada sauce, Okro soup and curry sauce. Praise the Lord!

To me, it did. I marinated a night before I was to cook it.

A roast dinner/meal,- roast chicken, stuffings, potatoes, chicken and vegetables with gravy.
Some honey and granola yoghurt for dessert, and a cup of orange juice.

Bon appetit to me

can I get the recipe please?
Sorry for the late response, justwise banned me for no reason. Lol

Ingredients for the prawns and chicken stir fry:
Chicken breast
Prawns (I always use peeled frozen one from retail stores)
Fresh garlic, onions
Carrot
Yellow and green bell peppers/capsicum
Sweet chilli sauce
Oyster sauce
Soy sauce
Black pepper
Turmeric, curry
Salt
Olive oil spray

Recipe:
Cut chicken breast into small pieces
Cut veggies into medium peices and onions into small peices
Add little spray olive oil into the cooking pan
Add the chicken breast, garlic and onions, stir for 2 mins
Add all the veggies
Add the 3 sauces in moderation, 45% sweet chilli sauce, 30% Soy sauce and 25% Oyster sauce
Add the peeled prawns
Add little curry and Turmeric
Add black pepper to taste
Add very tiny amount of salt cos the sauces already have enough sodium
Stir for a few more mins and get your rice ready cheesy

Wowww,
Looks scrumptious. I don't cook much, as I'm away from home a lot. So I always check on this thread to lift my spirits up.
Poor me.... cry cry
Here's what I'm having for dinner. Miserable menu for me that love my carbs:
Sesame coated hake fillets with lemon dressed caper salad angry

Really healthy looking meal you got there, keep it up! Yeah, I know that feeling of craving carbs, it's a torture. I'm currently following a strict low-carb diet; less than 100g of carbs a day. Sometimes my head spins, but it hasn't killed me yet. Lol
