I once stumbled upon dairy section and I read a few diaries, I felt a little disgusted by the way people bare their whole life activity on diary section (though I enjoyed reading motherhood diaries), but I don't think its safe especially on a public forum.

What is your take on this?

If a lady you dated for a while could not meet up to your expectations and you tell this lady that you will not marry her but she decides to be pregnant for you to marry her; you made a move to do her introduction and asking her hand in marriage to her family because of this pregnancy.
While you dated, she never wash your clothes nor even cared how you felt about some of her decision against you but will tell you she doesn't wash clothes for guys except for her husband. You visited her in her house, later when you were about to leave, there is serious rainfall, you asked her for her umbrella but she refused to give to you saying she is catching cold, you have to enter the rain to leave her house.
You two live together but she gets upset over your instructions on her to wash your clothes and other house chores but do them with pain in the name of "for peace to reign" not from her heart.
She now threaten you that if you don't do what she likes forthwith, nor change from whom you have always been, into being like her father and her brothers who have a particular lifestyle she likes, and do this and do that, she will be forced to leave you for good but will make sure that she takes you to social welfare for you to be paying every month on your baby when given birth to. At times, you don't feel you are with the right person in your life but torment.
Question 1: Is this woman your wife for real and does she love you?
Question2: What made her become pregnant just to make sure you suffers you.
Question3: Why would she want you to change after bringing her to your house from whom you are?
Question:4 Could she be God ordained wife for you or NOT?
Question:5 What should be done to avoid this her plans?

you should keep a diary but don't bare it all if you know you won't be able to bear it when they decide to use it against you, and yes most of the things you read are true, i don't of others but mine is true

At a point I believe its made up, people come on nairaland to brag about their imaginary husband and wife and their imaginary sweet life filled with happiness and laughter, they could even make you envious. Such is social media.

You should have made a thread for this. That lady isn't your wife and doesn't love you. Her indifference attitude towards you should tell you that.

Baring it all is very risky especially judging from the fact that the internet never forget and Nigerians can dig up old posts for Africa, I would have loved to keep one but I don't like it when people know what I'm up to, especially strange people, that's why I don't really fancy Facebook and I have sworn not to post my pregnancy picture there, may them Facebook witches no kill my pikin grin.

So many monitoring spirits.

Lol, I find those diaries very boring whether real or not. If it's not the diaries of high achievers count me out. Who reads uninspiring journals?, get me Forbe 100 most influential women/men in the world and I would be glad reading it not some boring personalities.

people have different preferences, it works for others, and sometimes it feels like having someone to talk to

It's funny. All you do is talk to yourself. Update your daily activities and nothing more.

Like one someone "shared" with me. The girl said she was with her mum's 4,000 and was passing by a market, she stopped and shopped for clothes. A pair of Jean was N1,400 blah! blah!! blah!! Like seriously, who cares?...i felt like slapping the person that shared that crap. grin

Not bad if you're anonymous.

A lot of people use their diary as a form of therapy where you bare your mind on issues you ordinarily wouldn't tell someone who knows you.

It feels better if say it to a total stranger and sometimes they use the chat threads to reach back to you.

I've seen instances where people in emotional distress use their diaries to connect with others.

For me personally, it's done more harm than good so different strokes for different folks.

Different strokes for different folks...

Everyone has a reason for keeping a dairy.
Dairies are therapeutic its like having someone to bare all to and not be judged. Well atleast not openly.

By the way dairies isn't for everyone.

They support their dairy with their real pictures, I could be the husband and I read my wife's diary on nairaland and get really upset with her for revealing a lot about us online.
