Mr Imudia Uduehi, a father of quintuplet who married less than a year ago, has appealed to government, well-meaning Nigerians and philanthropists to support the family in raising the children.

uduehi, also an unemployed graduate, from Ekpoma in Esan West LGA in Edo, made the appeal while speaking with the News Agency of Nigeria on Wednesday in Abuja. .

He said the quintuplet was delivered at the National Hospital Abuja on April 12, adding that all the five babies and the mother were in good health. “I am delighted and I thank God to have blessed us with these healthy children, I know it is a huge responsibility because it is not easy to raise even one child.

I am, however, appealing to the government, well-meaning Nigerians and corporate organisations to come and support my family in raising the children. I want everyone to see these children not just as a blessing to us but also a blessing to the entire nation,’’ Uduehi said.

In the same vein, Mrs Oluwakemi Uduehi, mother of the quintuplets, who is a civil servant, expressed joy for safe delivery adding that she conceived naturally and delivered five healthy baby girls.

Uduehi, who also appealed to Nigerians to support her family, stated that they were presently residing in a one bedroom apartment at Lugbe on Airport road. “My husband is presently searching for a job and I am a civil servant with Nigerian Population Commission in Abuja.

We both live in one bedroom apartment in Lugbe because that is what we can afford. But now that God has blessed us with five children, we will definitely need a bigger apartment and money to meet their needs, especially buying baby food and cloths,’’ she said.

This lady must be a born salesperson!

Yes, well-meaning Nigerians can support, both with cash and advice on budgeting and planning. (Perhaps they could have started this campaign earlier, after they had discovered the little crowd during the ante-natal scan)

Anyway, congratulations!

Shey they say one bank is signing up some reality TV show contestants?

Who knows; these kids may also work for an "Open Your 5-in-1 Account Today" ad campaign.

God's way is a mystery! Many have money and all it takes to take care of 10 at a time but they are still waiting!

May this be a point of contact to as many that are still looking up to God for the fruit of the womb!

Congratulations to the couple.

This news reminds me of my boss' former driver..
The day his wife gave birth to a set of triplets, the thing do am voom for eyes. lol. When it was time for labour, he took his wife to two or three different hospitals and she was being rejected cos he had no initial deposit they were demanding. An Axillary Nurse eventually took them to her cottage hospital where she put to bed.
During labour, the first baby came out; after a while, the second came. So, the nurse was already congratulating the man that his wife had had a set of twins and that, he should go get baby wares (in pairs) cos his wife gave birth to twins. While driving down to the market to get those items, his phone rang and when he picked it, the nurse informed him that his wife had given birth to yet another baby. This man suddenly matched the Break pedal and placed his head on the power-steering right in the middle of the road. He didn't know whether to be joyous or to start crying cos he knew he didn't have the wherewithal to train the triplets....The last time I heard from them, heard they have started school.

Abeg which belle she take carry this belle. Before pregnancy, I had a literal flat tummy.... well, almost grin
Sometimes, I look at my pictures in pregnancy and how big my tummy was on top ONE baby.

Then, one blessed mother carries 5,6,7,8 in same tummy? God is greatest.

My Brothers from the southwest are very prolific at birthing more than 2 babies at a go.

It's a good thing.

I pray they find succour.

This is not good for the economy.

One is unemployed and he is busy overpopulating the country and increasing poverty rate in the country.

Well I won't blame them, even nairaland celebrates couples with 10children as if its an achievement, not knowing that they are overpopulating the country.
