It is possible to be friends with your ex. I once dated someone and I cut off entirely from him after we parted. No sms. No social media. No phone calls. I did that because he is still attached to me or let’s just say he still want us to continue dating but I know it won’t work because of the reason why we parted in the first place.

You can be friends with your ex if you are satisfied with the state of friendship. You can’t be friends with your ex if your ex is still in love with you and you are not or you are still in love with your ex and maybe secretly hope that he changes his mind and becomes a different person. That will be time wasting. What if he doesn’t change his mind. If you cut off entirely from your ex, it will help you move on quickly. Especially if you are married you shouldn’t be friends with a single ex.
