I really do need that.

I'll be looking out for spots though. Ugo and Timbuktu, you've been helpful.

What if one wants to attempt Ghana and Togo from Cotonou? Is it a tumultuous ordeal?

Well it depends on you
First, are you going with passport, and two, how much you have on you
These factors are key in determining whether the trip will be tumultuous or not
Benin-Togo Ghana is a route that when planned well, you will enjoy it

Just travel to Ghana with Cross country, Efex or ABC.

Dont try it on your own cos you will end up spending more cos most of the officers there at seme charge double for stamping.

Funny enough, if you want to go to Ghana, you will have to pass through cotonou
So its depending on your budget

As celestial advised, as a first timer PLS use a reliable transport company, and not try to cross on your own

These people no dey mercy for virgin passport holders o

I meant 1k = 1400cef. A guy who plyed the route last three days told me.

I'm personally thinking of using westernunion, that should be better when pulling large amount.

If that is the case, then that is robbery, because naira seems to have gained strength na

And that western union thing, can I send money out of the country?

All the recovery is not so real. Dollar is still as high, sells at 375.

Dnt knw if WS will send to Cotonou, but it do send to Ghana at better rate. Thinking of trying that of Cotonou soon.

They charge 16k on 200k. And they convert at 355/$. You can get dollar at the counter in Accra and change it at d black market.

What's the advantage? Better exchange rate or what? I don't seem to understand why people do it. Please enlighten me.

better exchange rate. If black market sell at 1400, western union will be around 1600.

U get d drift.

Btw, I'd like to discuss some ish about Cotonou with you via whatsapp or call. Ar u ok with that?

Ok, now I do. But the 16k doesn't make it really cool like that.

The 16k is on 200k. The lower the amount, the lower the charges. Westernunion is always cheaper than blackmarket rate no matter what.

I used it to pull transactions in Ghana in 2016 when naira was starting to get bad.

What's the call/whatsapp digit?
