@thesimplelady your questions show you are yet to understand how the process works.
I am not in a position to summarize or detail out the whole process. But you can You need to truly read and research. The only thing I can tell you is that iv letters are not needed. They are not a requirement. Vos do not ask for them.
Go. To the ist page page of this thread and get an overview of the process. You can ask specific questions later.
Finally, nobody can tell you your chances. If you fast and pray, maybe you might get a revelation sha

If what you filled last year and this year are different, then your info is inconsistent.
That presupposes that one or both are false.
Fill the truth about you. Full stop. If you misrepresented before, correct that error and be honest.
If you intend to misrepresent or still misrepresent, Don't. I suppose after the last rejection, you ought to have learnt that its pointless creating or carrying documents

No,he can't fly....my brother had a similar issue last year, he will have to change his flight ticket to read 14th,the airline can do that with a fee...cheers

Every action has a reaction. The explanation and convincing the VO is the price you l have to paym
However, I am not a vo but I kinda find your story still unbelievable. Why would the owner of a business claim to be a 'mere worker'?
Re: USA Visit Visa Part 2 by KaptainAfrika: 9:21am On Apr 25, 2017
1. You spent money to get them? How do you mean? Are they your own documents or someone arranged them for you?
2. I think you should use this interview to come clean about your previous misrepresentation. You may or may not be given a visa, but it would be in your records that you came clean - hopefully that helps in the future.
3. I personally don't believe the conference reason for visiting the US, and I am not a VO. Are conferences only held in the US?

DT is tru, no one will believe it yet, but may be wen I tell u dis. I was deceived by an agent DT if I said am d owner of d biz dey will ask of my statement of acc which must be a current acc and also my Tax clearance which I don't ave. wen I told him I don't av all dt he said I should use d savings acc DT I av and I should just claim I work in d organisation. Well, well.... Long story short, you 'owned' this wahala oh! Better though if you use your next interview to come out clean and set the records straight, and though I be not a VO, chances of this case as it is securing a visa, a conference one at that, is next to slim, really sha. #INoRunForBeatAtAll

Hi nairalanders,

Please I am in a dilemma. My family went to apply for a visa today and my parents were given but my brother was denied. Purpose of visit is to attend my brother's graduation in Texas. They said he doesn't have sufficient ties and said he couldn't appeal in the letter they gave him. I am also doing my phd here in the US. Looks like they had an issue that he was the only child of my parents left in Nigeria and maybe they thought he wanted to run away which is not the case. He has a semester to complete his undergrad program here in. Nigeria. We are all pained at this time and we were thinking of reuniting as a family again this summer. Do you think we have good chances if he re- applies? And what can we d do better if he does that? I will appreciate any feedback. The last few hours have been very painful because of this denial. He is the baby of the house so we all feel bad for him
Re: USA Visit Visa Part 2 by KaptainAfrika: 11:14am On Apr 25, 2017
Lets look at what the VO was probably thinking:
1. All the sons are in the US - you studying for your phd and the soon-to-be graduate
2. The parents and the only son in Nigeria, want to go to the US for a graduation ceremony.
3. The entire family will be in the US, what's going to stop them from coming back?
4. Either I reject them all, or reject the son, so that they have a reason to come back.
5. Parents granted visa, son rejected, son becomes tie to Nigeria.

With this, do you still think the baby of the house should re-apply? grin Again, chances are 50%-50% cool

If you post the transcripts from the interviews (of your parents and your brother), people here can make suggestions and clarifications; and perhaps even hazard guesses about his chances on reapplying.

Hi everyone,I've been observing this trend for a while before my visa interview today and was granted visa by God's grace. My interview transcript goes thus;

Vo:: hi,good morning. How are you
Me: I'm fine, thank you and you?
Vo:: why are you travelling to the us??
Me: To attend the rotary international convention.
Vo:: Why do you want to attend the convention?
Me: Because blah blah blah
Vo:: What type of projects do you do in rotary??
Me: I explained
Vo: What do you do?
Me: I'm a student
Vo: what are you studying?
Me: Marine Biology
Vo: what are your courses?
me: I stated what Marine Biology entails.
Vo: You'll be through with school soon right?
Me: Yes,sometime in December.
Vo: What do you parents do?
Me: I explained
PO: What would you like to do in future?
Me : I explained.
Vo:: You'll get your passport on Friday or Monday.

What I found out is,three things are important in Visa Application 1. Grace of God(cause a friend of mine applied through the same process and we were interviewed almost at the same time but was denied visa) 2. Self-Confidence and 3. Clarity of Purpose.
Best of God guys.

Hi Everyone,

Please, I need a quick guide on my application.

1. I applied 5years ago when I was studying in the Uk, and I was denied. (I guess I couldn’t convince the VO the reason for my visit then)
2. This time I believe my situation isn’t the same – Now I’m married, with a kid. I still live and work legally in the UK (valid till the year 2020). Spouse and I have both lived here for 7years.
3. We recently just got a permanent residency in Canada, and have been issued an initial visa until the end of June 2017. We would get a PR upon arrival in Canada in May. We have planned to do a soft landing and explore the land for 2weeks.
4. However, we do not want to start staying in Canada yet as we both still enjoy our job in the UK. We like to visit the US for 4days within the 2 weeks period; we plan to fly from Toronto to Chicago
Please kindly advise on things we should watch out for when explaining to the VO.

Thanks.
Re: USA Visit Visa Part 2 by KaptainAfrika: 6:56pm On Apr 25, 2017
This is complicated as calculus. First, you have to apply in the country of primary residence. Second you will need to have strong ties in that country. But this one that you came to study and ended up staying albeit legally in the UK or is it Canada, will probably make the VO suspect that you wish to do the same in the US.
But damnnnnnn!

I. I was sponsored by a company in the Uk after studying. So I have got a work permit. Definitely, UK is my country of permanent residence(I'm applying in London).

2. I have the right to remain in Canada if I want, but I can't leave my job in the Uk

3. I've got a fair travel history looking at the last 4 years; I have visited 5 European countries and all was sponsored by my company.

Please let me know if I need to be clear on specific points. thanks once again.
Re: USA Visit Visa Part 2 by Beautyaddy: 7:55pm On Apr 25, 2017
I don't think you need to complicate things for yourself as well to the Visa Officers. It seems according to your statement that UK is your primary permanent resident. You should apply from the country you currently spend most of the months in. Canada is your temporary residence for now according to your statement. And by the way, Canadian PR still needs to apply for visiting visa to visit the US.

Oh that's pretty straightforward then. Apply in the UK. But I don't know their policy towards documents there, here in Nigeria they don't look at documents. You have a good travel history, a good paying job and you are applying from a close ally of the US, so you are good to go. Just be honest in the form and in the interview.

You should be able to explain yourself to the V.O just like you did here... As far as I can see I don't think you have any intent to live or work in U.S which is what every V.O is watching out for.

Good morning gurus in the house, please I just filled and submitted ds 160 form for me, my wife and our babies but I made two mistakes on my wife form, first she schooled in Ghana and had visited Liberia in the last five years but I mistakenly tick no for her outside Nigeria visit, secondly she has a distance relative in US ( though we are not visiting anybody) I also ticked no for answer.
Please is there a way of correcting these mistakes after submmision?
Thanks and God bless you all

@the bolded, has the form changed for FEMALES? Where in the world did you see that question while filling "her" form and then answered "NO"? Surprised though, change is permanent. Well, just fill out another form and use the new DS160 form number to book appointment if you haven't, and if you have, kindly do a DS160 form swap via the customer service unit of the embassy. This is no problem, I noticed mistake in mine after booking an appointment. N:B: you can't make adjustment to an electronically signed and submitted DS160.
Here is what I did...I filled a new DS160 form got a new confirmation page and code, discarded the old one where I made mistake. Then proceeded to my profile on the consulate website and changed the DS160 confirmation code, So I printed a fresh appointment letter and DS160 confirmation page.
I hope this has been helpful?
