My brother in Capetown needs a good fta installer over there, as D*tv has finally blocked even the Christian channels that used to be on public bouquet. He came home (Nigeria) last week and went back on thursday, so while here I helped him obtain the necessities for a fta installation,(Hd receiver, 2 Premium gold ku lnbs, 8way diseq, connectors, and cables). He would/might only need to add another dish plate, as he wants all his Christian channels on ku IS 7/20, and wants National Geographic, (Discovery, Channels tv, Tvc, Nta, & AIT if possible,) and then any other action or sci-fi movie channels....and Christian music channels like Hillsong Australia.

Good analysis but I sincerely think this has nothing to do with a receiver's tuner,I think it has more to do the board/circuit especially strong decoders which some parts are mostly interchangable like the power(4669x can work with 75/A and 4940)same goes for the LED display for 63x,69x and 75.I think this is also targetted to minimise signal fade.

..I disagree with you, cos dvb s/s2/s2x...are the standard for satellite digital television broadcast....the tuner controls the diseqc switch if applicable use the correct frequency,fec rate,symbol rate to tune the desired service or blind tune!however it has to comply with the broadcast standard to receive incoming signal!tuners attaches to the board and can be replaced...and the inbuilt chip in the motherboard decodes MPEG-2/4/HEVC video standard wrapped in the Transport Stream which is used in the broadcast!

So hope has faded completely on sport 24 HD.This is the way we lost IRIB TV3 AND VARZHESH too.chai good things they say it does not last.the hope of watching the remaining matches of EPL on FTA has gone down the drain and my 2.4m dish refused to bring down ptv sport in ABUJA-NIGERIA.My fellow sattelite forum members,which way forward.pls i dont want suggestion of IPTV DECODERS i cant be buying data to watch matches o

yes i do remember the post.i got the signal for my client then.he has been transferred to adamawa now .i would have confirm from him if he still receiving it. but i dont know weather the signal has reduce or not or my dish is not up to 2.4m or the dish has lost it torches cos it is not a brand new dish.i just dont understand why i cant get it again.

PTV did not air any epl game last wkend and the same applied yesterday.In FTA we are in big trouble.Do not wates your time tracking it now maybe after the cricket games might resume beaming games.

Please how can one get this HEVC/4k compliant receiver? Or canone upgrade this normal receiver to be HEVC/4k compliant? If so how can one go about it?

Please help! My receiver 4922 has been misbehaving lately. It will change to black and white after 5-10 minutes of switching it on. Is there any software to correct this?
