The problem with pink oils is that they contain mineral oil. Mineral oils block the hair follicles, making the scalp dirty, which can lead to the hair not growing as fast as it ought to

Awww your hair looks so soft lol and the low cut really fits you. I don't think you have to do much for now, since it's still short. Just get an oil (e.g sunflower oil, jojoba oil, olive etc because they are not too heavy/too light, which is perfect for medium porosity hair ) and apply when your hair is damp. A little goes a long way

On my big chop too. Been using hair wonder cream and oil. So nice and working fine. Then there is this homemade oil(Chinese way of growing hair). It's making sense.

She just used water, a leave in conditioner and shea butter.
She did the LOC Method, probably because she has HIGH porosity hair, so people with medium and low porosity should use lighter oils instead of shea butter

And those with low porosity hair should apply according to the LCO method

Locs/dreads really are cool.

If you don't like them there're ways to unloc your hair but you will get a lot of breakage and shedding in the process. Sometimes it could be impossible to undo the locs and yes, in that case, the only solution, if you don't want them anymore, is to cut them off and start over. Most black women who loc their hair however, typically stick with it for years, so there's no such thing as not liking them and wanting to cut them off. People who cut off their dreads/locs only do so after years of loc'ing their hair - when they're once again ready for a new change in their life. Though the beginning stages of locs can be uncomfortable, once they start getting longer they look awesome.

If you want to transition, do a protective​ style that'll prevent constant combing. Too much combing will cause your hair to weaken or break at the line of demarcation (the meeting point of your relaxed ends and budding natural hair).

NotOfThis has said it all, all I have to add is finger detangling is the best. It takes time but causes less breakage and if you want to use a comb, use a WIDE TOOTH comb. When I first started transitioning I used those small combs and literally saw all my hair falling out and it was very painful


Oh and comb, when your hair is damp and moisturised because it's way easier and causes less breakage


Good luck on you transition journey. Still transitioning too, can't wait to do the big chop. I don't have the liver to cut it yet, I want it to reach at least my shoulder
