personally i dont think what u are asking is too much..its quite normal but u gotta love with ya head 99% nd ur heart 1% meaning use ur head nd dont be carried away with ur emotions ..to prevent heartbreaks nd dissapointments...if he really likes/loves u ..he has gotta show it by his actions...just apply wisdom nd observe his attitude
