there is always a thing in every "nothing". if u dot have a PGD in education u can enroll n get d stuff. rmber in d public force, u are on ur own. it might b d man is seeing wat we can't c now. my advice is go for upgrade, no new certificate gained is a waste.
my uncle has been teaching with a b.sc for over 28 years, he recently got a pgde, the down side to not upgrading is the inability to become a principal only.

I'm not against upgrading, I'm only against spreading false info and fear here. Anyone that has intentions of staying on this job should upgrade. And yes so many persons (my humble self included) have/are upgraded/upgrading so u are not alone on that..

My VP told us that by December all teachers that have B.sc will be dropped from the teaching job unless they upgrade by getting an education qualification ... Has anyone heard about this secret information too ? Please make findinds ok!
My friend, one of the reasons why so many teachers are poor is fear. Nobody should cause you panic. Are you satisfied with the job? A job after 10 years your salary remain the same? Is that not stagnation? If anybody wanted to sack you then thank God cos God has prepared a better place for you. A better job for you. Won't you like to end well? Wike came to power and there was wide spread rumour he would sack 13000 but today you're in the job. At times when ppl come up with stories based on what they hear, employ your reasoning. If they wanna sack holders of non educational certificate, how many teachers will be left teaching? How many will be productive? How many will be efficient? How many will teach maths the way i taught?

My disagreement with people is only based on sentimental opinions, someone, only gave a reported speech of an individual, persons are jittering over nothing. Teachers: grow up.

What some persons fail to know is the number of teachers retiring every year. In 2015 it was 500 persons retired, in 2016 the number increased to 600 persons. The list was boldly pasted at Senior Secondary schools board. Which i believed was for SSSB only, the ones retired from UBE were not included oo. Then ask urself, how many teachers are still in the service? The number of teachers required by the state are nose-diving every year and someone is here talking about laying off the already depleted number of teachers needed for the schools in the state. Well, i think the reverse will and should be the case. Instead of sacking, they will employ more teachers.

You guys really have time for all this road side talk hmmmmm!

I don't have any certificate in educational field and I'm not bothered because after the starvation and all the emotional trauma of last year, which l stayed seven months without salary, l learnt how to live without depending just on one source of income.

If l obtain higher qualifications is not meant for this kind of job because the salary alone can't pay my tuition, rent and feeding....

Please the April salary is what matters to me at the moment.

Worker’s Day: Cross River pays May salaries

Cross River State government has paid its workers their May salaries to mark Workers’ Day.

Governor Ben Ayade, had on April 30 ordered that the May salaries of workers be paid.

This is not the first time that Ayade, whose cardinal priority had been the prompt payment of salaries, will be paying workers ahead of due date which falls within the 25th of every month.

In May 2016, Ayade ordered workers to be paid, while the second time was on December 1, 2016.

Workers in the state got two months salaries in one week, as salaries for April were paid a few days ago.

State chairman of the Nigeria Labour Congress, Mr. John Ushie, said the union had advised against the payment of salaries in advance.

Ushie said, “We had advised the governor not to be paying salaries like this but he insisted. Maybe it is his own way of showing that he cares for the people. He feels he should make the life of the people better and he has expressed this by paying a month salary in advance

Federal Government To Sack Teachers Without Professional Certificate

The Registrar and Chief Executive Officer, Teachers Registration Council of Nigeria, Professor Olusegun Ajiboye has warned that the Federal Government will not allow any teacher without the professional certificate of the council to teach beyond 2017. Professor Ajiboye, who made this known in Ibadan, explained that the policy was part of the three-year Ministerial Strategic Plan designed by the Minister of Education, Malam Adamu Adamu. He said the council would stop the present form of registration that did not entail any examination at the end of May 2017, while the first professional qualifying examination of the Teachers Registration Council of Nigeria would take place at the end of September 2017. According to Professor Ajiboye, the policy was designed to fully professionalise teaching in Nigeria and ensure that only those who are qualified to teach are employed by the government for quality assurance. While noting that the present administration of President Muhammadu Buhari would not joke with professionalism in the teaching profession, the Registrar and Chief Executive Officer added that teachers who registered on or before May thirty-one, 2017, would be exempted from the qualifying examinations.

if I talk now. them go say I wan insult someone.

even my basic six pupils can understand this simple English language

''...federal Government will not allow any teacher without the professional certificate of the council ...''

it means whether you have b.sc. or b.ed 'if you are not registered by TRCN and do not possess their professional certificate. you will be in trouble.. it has nothing to do with victimizing non educational graduates.

whether you posses b.ed or not. go to your zonal office ask for the TRCN form and fill ' we've already filled ours since March '.

gold360...
why is your quote not complete thus you quoted - ''...federal Government will not allow any teacher without the professional certificate of the council ...'' but the original quote should have been "... Professor Olusegun Ajiboye has warned that
the Federal Government will not allow any teacher without the professional certificate of the council to teach beyond 2017..."
please this country is both stupid and nonsense so please if you don't have education qualification rush now and register for PGDE in NTI (nigeria teachers institute) the registration will close for the year 2017 by end of this month of may. go and get education certificate now before you are sacked by this useless government, to be fore warned is to be fore armed.

if they pay us every 4th or 7th of the next month and the cash is finishing before the next payment, and we are asking for 25th of the current month... is it not still 30 days interval what difference does day date make?

we need a nonconflicting source if income to augment our salary, like many of the so called "old Teachers" already do.
