Made payment yesterday and I got the biometric letter. Check your messages on your CIC account it usually comes with confirmation.

Will be traveling to Lagos for biometrics next week.

Pls the biometrics affects the start of the processing right

application must be completed before processing. besides biometric is a sensitive data that needs to be collected for security reason.

Goodevening .... Sorry to disturb .. But I want to ask a few questions .. I want to submit my online application for a 2 year MSC beginning September . Is it advisable for my husband and son to apply alongside with me ? My husband will be applying for a work permit while my son is a USA citizen . What do you advise .. Also I have a statement of 11 million . With 4 million fixed since January and the rest from hubbys business do you think this will be enough ? My school fees is 16.000 for the 2 years . Your prompt response will be appreciated . Thank you
I believe you've gotten good advise already. To also answer the latter part of your questions, The tuition fees as written on your offer letter is what officers will use. Be it for a year or for your entire program.

So calculate the naira equivalent of the tuition on your offer letter + a minimum of 10,000CAD or some excess of this. I think the 11m will be sufficient while the fixed deposit will give you a strong home tie. If you can pay your tuition, it will be a good move.

All the best.

Morning All,

Please I have a situation.
I was only able to pay the acceptance visa before i was issued visa.
Now I am already in Toronto to resume study in Advance Diploma this May, but unfortunately, my sponsor has delayed making payment for my first semester tuition fee. The school is insisting I make payment before registration or defer till Sept..

So what do I do?
I have the option to defer till Sept.
Will I be in trouble if not actively enrolled in school from now till Sept.?
If I defer, can I be working?
Is heading back to Naija an option?

Thanks all for responses.
You should find out from your school the possibility of staying back without violating the conditions on your study permit pending when you can either pay your fees or defer till september.

To have a student status with all it's benefits, you MUST be ENROLLED and ACTIVELY pursuing your studies on an outgoing basis. So weigh your options and decide on the one that will not incriminate you.

Hey guys! sorry I have not replied earlier to POE experience and all I have been busy. Trying to settle down.

1. In the POE, none of my bags were searched, no question was asked. I submitted my offer letter and passport and I got my study and work permit.

2. In Canada here, you need to have confidence to be successful, I had to challenge my landlord here for him to sit up. He wanted to be funny because I am new.

3.You can change your program route; I have successfully changed here to research wink those profs that don't respond to emails do that because you are still in Nigeria.

4. Confidence!! Confidence!!! don't be shy to air your opinions, talk to strangers, crack polite decent jokes with strangers etc. I was cracking jokes with my supervisor and he was laughing!!!

5. Research here is no joke my first meeting with my supervisor; I was loaded but I think he did that deliberately to test me.

6. This place is too cold like really cold and they say this is summer; I wonder how the Winter will look like.

7. Just believe in yourself, you will survive. Don't worry about the money on you. You can get a job and hussle hard. I will be registering just one course this summer so I can hussle grin

Cheers Everyone. If you have concerns just quote my moniker, I may take some time to respond but I'll try.

WOW! CONGRATS TO YOU, LOL grin grin ABOUT THE COLD, OGA NA TO HUSSLE REMAIN.

please how necessary is attaching property docs of sponsors?
typically they are relunctant to release that bit, can i go ahead with statement of account and other docs?
Ofcos. The reason your sponsor should even give you their property documents is to show you have some tie to it or show thier assets base. If you can show these through other things, you are fine. IRCC officers will be more interested in funds availability for you as well as your relationship with your sponsor.

Hello house,

Please I need your help deciding.. I got admitted to university of Manitoba and I intend to be self sponsored. However, I can't proof my income. I mean, most part of my income comes from private practice which I don't issue receipt for. All in all, my statement reads 11.5m and I intend to go alone. I am married and I have my immediate brother that can act as a sponsor but he only has 2million

1.Would you advice me to defer my admission and prepare better or can I go ahead to apply. I really don't want to cook up receipts though that's what an agents advice's me to do. Please I need your help.

2. I work in a hospital and I have all proper documents to proof my earning for the past 3years from them (tax clearance, pension statement, pay slips, etc) but I don't own a business or have a CAC doc. My client payment cash or just bank transfer. Should I present the doc I have at hand and hang to fate?

3. My fees is 3.2million (11500CAD). That will live me with around 8.5million after I pay the fee. Is that statement sufficient to suffix that I can sponsor my self considering the school gave me a fees schedule of between 27000CAD to 37000CAD pending on my life style, fee included. Please house.. Help a brother on the vague of deciding based on your experience.

Bros your case is very simple
1. the bedrock of every study permit application especially to Canada is MONEY, they want to really know that you ve got enough money to take care of your self during your stay in canada and this you have

2. what kind of degree are you applying for, BSC, MASTERS... if you are going for masters then you dont have a need for a sponsor all you gotta do is get all neccessary doc that shows how money goes in and out of your account which is your statement, if you dont have a pay slip make one. your marriage cert which represents your pledge to come back after your study we all know you are not coming back after your studies, if you ve got any properties, attach the docs to it, pay your tuition from here and attach the reciept to your application dont worry you will be refunded if you are not given visa but your chances are 10/10 getting approval, you dont need to own a CAC doc all you need is make a copy of the one at where you work

3. for BSC you surely needs a sponsor.

I am 34yrs old this year and i am married and my wife is pregnant and she works with NATIONAL INDUSTRIAL COURT OF NIGERIA. MY Program in a PGD in business Sustainability. Why i applied for PGD is because my CGPA is bellow average for master, which i have stated in my SOP. i have some properties in the village (lands) but the lands have only agreement signed between the owner with his witnesses. I have a car, rented apartment in Abuja for N450k for a two bedroom flat. i have been working for 4years now, i have all the documents from my office apart from leave letter. I have my own registered company since last two years. Though the company has not started off. I have task clearance certificate for last year on it.
I have my immediate elder brother as my sponsor. he has paid for my school fees, he has given me two
different statement of account, with all his office documents. as a prove that he is working and can pay my bills. my wife gave me letter of consent also. there are no gap in my CV,as per what i have been doing since after graduation. What i read in my first degree is project management which is directly related to what i want to study now in my PGD. My sponsor works with an Oil company in Abu dhabi his office payslip has also been sent to me. Am I good to go?

It's useful when you're applying to more than one college.
It saves and duplicate your applications to other colleges you will apply to automatically without you having to keep filling forms for all the colleges.
It's just like Collegeboard for U.S.A.
Note- it's only the general informations that will be automatically updated on your intending colleges. Specific informations requested for from other colleges, will be filled by you.

Am hoping I haven't wasted my $95 on Ontariocollege.ca
All the 3 schools said I should reapply through their international student website paying another application fee individually
Conestoga
Fanshawe
Algonquin
And George brown said I have to wait 4-8weeks before deciding on my application.

Pls help

Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 12 by ebimila: 3:38pm On May 03, 2017
Hello People. I have a scenario here. Perhaps someone can help out.
I am yet to receive an response (approval) from cic even though its still within processing time (14 weeks going) for a program with start date of May 8.
However, i plan to change institution as i have a preferred option (admission) in another province for August this year too. So meeting up with the initial mandatory registration and orientation procedure is not an issue. But i still need to get to the first school (if visa is approved) to effect the change of institution as well as get refund for 1st semester tuition. The refund deadline on their website is 19th May. i am worried that the delay may frustrate these plans and i dont want to loose money that has been paid. Although im still waiting but i considering the possibility of deferring the first program to buy time. Another issue is that i have previously deferred before and i dont know if that would be possible. Meanwhile, the other program starts in August. Pls what can i do?
