Am seriously confused here , I dnt even know why they (the igbos) are just busy attacking the OP .

Every thing the op wrote here is nothing but the painful truth
my brother the thing just tire me, some Igbos are just confused lots and even try to be more Nigerian than the president himself, tomorrow same igbos will cry fowl.

When their confusion is the fuel sustaining their present predicaments in the country.

Mr man the marginalization u guys cry about is just a fragments ur ur imagination... Act right and people will treat u well... U spoke about a landlord not wanting to give his house to an Igbo Man... Most cases very true but I don't blame dem but the Igbos..when the come for ur house the come like doves but 6 months after getting the apartment they behave like lions.... Disregarding the landlord and causing havoc.... The yorubas are the most accommodating and I really respect them for that, but the Igbos will carry grudge for a thousand years.... See am tired of u people I swear.....u guys need to purge urselfs
You forgot to talk about Yoruba pastors leading in all their churches even in igboland, is that not tribalism?

you can hardly see a yoruba man attend churches where you have igbo founders that's why you can get their pastors there.
I don't agree with the premise of the thread but this actually has some truth to it- I personally know a pastor who's had Yoruba people run away from his Church just because he's Igbo. We shouldn't stoop down to ignorant people's level though undecided.

Brother I keep wondering the same thing too.. I think they forget that it was the Hausa and fulanis who massacred the igbos in the north and forced them out. Our only crime was not taking sides with them in a war that should not have happened in the first place. Should the hate not be directed at Hausas? Instead they're fighting with their only possible ally
Do you think that we're all too stupid to open a book and really find out what happened in the war? Awolowo, the man who oversaw the starvation of up to 3 million civilians and introduced the £20 policy for Igbos returning from the horrors of war, which tribe was he from? The people in Lagos yelling "go home Igbos, the price of garri will be cheaper", or something to that effect, which tribe were they predominantly from? The ex-president who purposefully carved out oil-producing communities in the South-East just so that they wouldn't make more revenues, which tribe was he from? These were not Hausa-Fulani people, which certain media outlets like to portray...

The list is longer than this and I hope that you don't make the mistake of thinking that we have forgotten.

Read what you just wrote, so because a few yoruba people screamed 'go home igbos' you feel that's a graver sin than the the Hausas who massacred your people. Awolowo and the other politicians in office were given a job to do which they executed the best way they could hence causing much suffering in Igboland but does that mean you should blame the tribe they're from? Thereby keeping unjustified grudges against a whole race of people? Really?? So if Awolowo was an Igbo man would you be hating on yourselves too?

Hitler and his goons committed the gravest of all crimes in history, yet do you see the Jews or the general public attacking the Germans at every opportunity? A lot of Germans opposed the war just as I'm sure a lot of Yorubas opposed the war too. A good few Germans were anti-Semitic just as I'm sure a few Yorubas were against igbos too. But the people never took matters into their own hands.

My point here is the Yoruba commoner never killed the igbos at least not to the scale of Hausas and Fulani who butchered your people in the north and forced them away yet Yoruba people get so much hate compared to Hausas and Fulanis from the igbos which I find astonishing.

Using the Igbo logic I henceforth blame all Bayelsa people for causing the recession we're in.. and they can thank GEJ for this.

Re: Igbos Bu Igbo. Use Your Teeth And Count Your Tongue. This Is Real by aribisala0(m):
The £20 policy was the worst thing that Nigeria did. They should not have been given a penny.Eboes left Nigeria with their Nigerian pounds with no intention of return. gave their money to Ojuku in return for valueĺess Biafra pound and he spent their money as only he can explain. He lost. The the funny people returned after the war claiming to have bank accounts but to have lost the documents. Why did they not go to the banks to argue with them.
Did the Nigerian government seize money from banks?
I CHALLENGE THESE CLOWNS TO PROVIDE ANY EVIDENCE ,EVEN A NEWSPAPER ARTICLE THAT ANYONE TOOK THEIR MONEY.
These people are such inveterate liars.Let one of their elite come out andate name the bank and amount where he kept money that he could not reclaim
LET THEM TELL US THE LAW OR DECREE THAT WAS USED TO TAKE THEIR MONEY.
THE NIGERIAN GOVERNMENT GAVE THEM FREE AND UNDESERVED MONEY.

HOW MUCH WAS THAT £ 20 IN TODAY'S MONEY.
First in those days one Nigerian pound was two British pounds 1970
So £20 then would be worth £300 sterling today .Imagine that! http://www.thisismoney.co.uk/money/bills/article-1633409/Historic-inflation-calculator-value-money-changed-1900.html
Has Ojuku ever said his money was seized. Many Eboes stayed in Nigeria THROUGHOUT THE WAR. Those who had papers claimed their money ,that was a matter between them and banks.
Some children would like to pretend that everyone had bank accounts in those days. How many banks were in Nigerit and how many branches? Very few!
Those people retelling these lies have no idea what Nigeria looked like in those days.

I understand that there is marginalization in the country which is due to the political set up of the nation but ndibayi should know when to stop this cry. The Christianity that we are shouting, how many Igbo's are in Rome? How many have been popes? Do you think they don't have Igbo district heads in the east? why cry more that the bereaved. Religion is a decision you personally make and if you are marginalized based on your personal decision, then you can change your decision to follow a particular denomination.

I do not like my people coming online to just make empty noise which will make them look stupid or to a very large extent demean the great minds of the Igbo nation.

Keep paying your tithes to Yoruba's, let them develop their region better than yours. Its very religious for you to do that.

1. It wasn't just a "few Yorubas" but that's besides the point; it directly opposes the narrative, which certain media outlets like to make, that the Yorubas had little to do with the Igbo persecution that was prevalent in the build up to war. Who's saying that what they did was worse than what the Northerners did? huh An evil deed is an evil deed, you don't need to start comparing your people's actions to that of others.

2. Awolowo went above and beyond what his job position required of him; the man wanted to stifle the Igbos in any way he could. His actions during and after the war attest to this. In what world is starving people to death the role of a commisioner of finance and vice chairman of the Federal Executive Council, which were his roles during the war? Pray tell...

Hitler and his goons committed the gravest of all crimes in history, yet do you see the Jews or the general public attacking the Germans at every opportunity? But the people never took matters into their own hands.
Thank you for bring up the Holocaust as by doing this, you're acknowledging that what Gowon, Awolowo et al did was genocide. The Jews got closure and funding from Germany as well as their own country for their sufferings- are you suggesting that Nigeria does the same for Biafrans?

Also, Hitler and the Nazis are, rightly so, condemned in most parts of Germany. Can you say the same for Nigeria? Remember that you were trying to justify Awolowo's actions in the above paragraph before you answer this question.

My point here is the Yoruba commoner never killed the igbos at least not to the scale of Hausas and Fulani who butchered your people in the north and forced them away yet Yoruba people get so much hate compared to Hausas and Fulanis from the igbos which I find astonishing.
Your point is heavily flawed; that they didn't kill Igbos en masse like the Hausa-Fulani does not free them from condemnation. Awolowo alone, a Yoruba man who is still held in reverence by 'common Yorubas' like yourself, single handedly killed more Igbos than those who died in the pogroms. Yoruba people don't get "so much more hate" compared to the Hausas- don't just use social media as a source. I don't know any Igbo person who hates Yoruba people more than Hausa-Fulani people; personally speaking, I regard you both as the same undecided.

Using the Igbo logic I henceforth blame all Bayelsa people for causing the recession we're in.. and they can thank GEJ for this.
This isn't Igbo logic, this is your own made up logic. GEJ wasn't the brains behind the current recession going on in Nigeria, it was a culmination of events. Awolowo, however, was the mastermind behind the starvation policy of Biafran civilians and the £20 policy that cripples the Igbo middle and upper classes. We will never forget this, just like the Jews will never forget the Holocaust.

The topic is for igbos to use their tongue and count their teeth. It's awareness crusade for the igbos not to pretend all is well.

The Yorubas government will set your good on fire in the market and pretend it was an accident. They will rebuild the market and allocate the shops to yorubas.

The lazy yorubas will in turn start putting the shops
For rent to the Igbos. Tejuosho market one in many.

Remember. Know who your enemy is. All I have said in the topic is true. It is circulating in all the village meetings.

you know what we are talking about. Go to Anglican churches in Lagos Yorubas don't attend anyone that has Igbo priest. It's a fact. They put a law not to have Igbo service in any parish but the Igbos who the founders of the church refused. It's only in Diocese of Lagos west that has still refused to allow Igbo service but allows you yoruba service

Remember Igbos have more population of Anglicans than yorubas. Yorubas are known for white garment church. Even the founder Redeemed was a member of white garment church

This is interesting news. If indeed there was a rejection of an igbo priest could it have been because he couldn't speak the local language? I say this because I used yo be baptist and we'd have a yoruba language service right after the english one and they were both handled by the same person for economic/pragmatic reasons.

1. An evil deed is an evil deed, but it varies in intensity. Should someone who is caught stealing 200N worth of food for his family get the same treatment as someone stealing 500mil from the public office? Well in Nigeria that seems to be the case so I see your logic.

2. We're going back to this again are we? That Awolowo did horrible things to your people does not mean all Yorubas agreed with it.. or is that what you think? Like I said not all Germans were in favour the war so you can't hold them responsible for what a lone man did, and more importantly the Jews aren't rubbing it in either.

3. Where did I try to justify Awolowo's action? All I said was he was tasked with doing a job and he did it, just as Eichmann was tasked with finding a solution for the Jews (and boy did he find one) All I asked was for you to separate the tribe from the person. In fact Awolowo and Ojukwu have the blood of innocent people on their hands and ideally both should not be celebrated.

4. Going back to my initial question, Yoruba people get condemned left right and centre, whether they deserve it is a long story, but why are Hausa/fulanis left untouched, if evil is evil?

5. Finally, I don't expect any Igbo person to forget the civil war, in fact there should be a rememberance day so we all don't forget the mistakes we made in past.

1. No, they were probably introduced to the church by word of mouth- that's usually what happens at that church. As for the signposts announcing the pastor's name, I'm genuinely unsure- the person may not have been paying attention to that.
2. Lol, there's no need for an investigation; the pastor was told by one of his members who brought the person to the church, I believe.

Nigeria is a very tribalist country, things like this happen everyday.

1. If we're going by numbers alone then the fact that Awolowo masterminded the starvation of upto 3 million Biafran civilians means that he, and the Yorubas by extension, should receive the most criticism, going by your logic. Before you claim that Awolowo was just one Yoruba man, remember that this same man is revered by the vast majority of Yorubas today. I don't even see many Yorubas, including yourself, condemning his actions during and after the war so this point still stands.

2. Read my above point.

3. You've basically answered your own question... I will ask you again: where exactly is it in the job description of a commissioner of finance and vice chairman of the Federal Executive Council to suggest any tactics of war- I use the term 'tactics' very lightly here- let alone one as ruthless and evil as a starvation policy. Pray tell...

4. Hausa-Fulani people are not "left untouched" by the Igbos- are you sure that you're from Nigeria? huh

5. Okay, I wasn't exactly sure of your motives for this debate before but I am now. You seem to feel a bit guilty about what your people did in the past. Good, at least you haven't completely ignored it like other Nigerians have. Now that you've admitted that more should be done in remembrance for those who suffered during that war, don't you think that the victims, who were mostly Igbos, have every right to get annoyed at the fact that their paradigm was 'swept under the carpet'? Don't you think that they have every right to be annoyed at the same people who were responsible for that? huh

You should stop wasting your time on hateful animals that always look for a way to blame others for their misfortune. They talk as if they never killed anyone during the war, the mid-western region can never forget all their atrocities. Loudmouthed animals always playing the victim card, you hate Yoruba people and your people still flock to their region in droves. Who does that? I am glad Yoruba people are now returning their hate and have stop that foolish sophistication rubbish. I now hate them with passion same way they hate my people and wish us evil daily.

Do u know that all 9 members of RCCG governing council are Yorubas? Do u also know that no Igbo man is a Bishop in the Living Faith church( Winners Chapel)? No Igbo Man is also a superintendent at Deeper Life Bible Church? Do you also know that no Igbo man is also a senior Pastor @ Daystar Christian center? Neither any one @ Kingsway International Christian Center?
The Igbos should know that the Messiah will come from among its people. The disciples of Jesus Christ are Galileans like him, they should stop pumping money into other tribe projects and yet complain about Igbo marginalisation. We should start with what we can control. Go to any church but ensure that part of your tithe and other big donations go to Igbo churches because soon "it will be to your tents oh Israel"
Please send until it gets to all Igbo sons & daughters, because even in heaven, as on earth, there is hierarchy and little segregation.

When you realise how much money that leaves the east every Monday you will realise why Yorubas would not want you to get Biafra.

Have you ever seen a yoruba man read SUN news paper or champion news paper.

How many Yorubas would you find in a church where an Igbo man is the founder.

They hate you to the extent they will not let their houses to you unless there is no choice than to give you the house.

How many Yorubas bank with Fidelity bank or diamond bank.

Your real enemy is known to you yet you look the other way round.

How much have you donated to your home church? Igbo make use of your brain.

The mod will definitely throw this away because they would not want you to know the truth.

Please this message is only for igbo awareness
As much as i agree with the premise that this post is predicated on, i think it's faulty on many levels.

Now, i agree with the part that has to do with churches. A lot of these popular churches owned by Yorubas usually have mostly Yoruba people working under them and very few Non Yorubas even though there are thousands to millions of Igbos in these churches. I'm talking purely on personal experience because there's really no data to back this up with.

About Yorubas reading Sun Newspaper, i agree with you a great deal. But the reasons may not be because they're owned by an Igbo person per se. It could be because before SUN newspaper came out, other dailies like Vanguard and PUNCH has already become the favourites by a lot of people. Another cogent reason is that people prefer to read things that highlight their lives. If you check SUN newspaper very well, apart from the fact that they report the usual national news that other newspapers report, they tend to appeal to the audiece from the South eastern part of the country with the additional news items that highlights news from the east. For instance, there's hardly anyday that goes by that you don't find news about BIAFRA or Ohanaeze on the frontpages of SUN newspaper.

I also agree that Yorubas tend to stick with churches where the founders are Yorubas. The only churches not dominated by Yorubas in a cosmopolitan place like Lagos are those that are owned by non Yorubas, a case in point is Christ Embassy where they don't care where you come from as long as you have something to offer.

On the issue of Yorubas using Igbo owned banks. I don't thin anyone checks the owners of banks before using their service. When i started using GTB, i never cared to know who owned them. All i wanted was a place i resumed OK to save my money. It's also a lie that Yorubas don't use those banks because i have Yorubas friends who use diamong and fidelity and are even cajoling me to use those banks because of their quality of service. It's funny how you also conveniently didn't include UBA which is an Igbo owned bank, because until not to long ago, they were like the MTN of banking. Almost everyone with a bank account had a UBA account.

So, like i said, i agree with the premise, which is one that re enforced tha tribalism we face daily in Nigeria whether we're Hausa, Igbo or Yoruba.

I disagree with ur writeup Op,evn though i believe the issue of no Bishops of igbo tribe in winners chapel and other churches u mentioned bt that has nothing to do abt tribe.
Hw many yorubas are senior pastors in Salvation Ministries,Dunamis,Lords Chosen, Dominion City,Gateway christian center,Christ Embassy etc.
Bishop Ebhoghinme was the most Senior pastor in winners after Bishop David Oyedepo and Bishop Abioye he wasn't a yoruba,so tell me,hw does that mean tribalism?
Actually, the difference is that there aren't really that much Yorubas in those churches you mentioned which re enforces one of his points that Yorubas don't attend other people's churches.

Good, at least you haven't completely ignored it like other Nigerians. Now, that you've admitted that more should be done in remembrance for those who suffered during that war, don't you think that the victims, who were mostly Igbos, have every right to get annoyed at the fact that their paradigm was 'swept under the carpet'? Don't you think that they have every right to be annoyed at the same people who were responsible for that? huh
Goodness you keep regurgitating the same balderdash about Awolowo and I'm sorry I can't keep going round in circles with you. Please refer to my previous comments again. Meanwhile you are free to hold onto your grudge against Yorubas, fortunately for me it doesn't affect my sleep. Cheerio mate smiley
