Honestly police report is not needed for study permit. Except if requested for. I lived in Uk for a year and I did not include it in my application.

Get a USD card, StanbicIBTC seems faster, buy your USD from the street, deposit the money in your account, then pay with the card.

Hey guys! sorry I have not replied earlier to POE experience and all I have been busy. Trying to settle down.

1. In the POE, none of my bags were searched, no question was asked. I submitted my offer letter and passport and I got my study and work permit.

2. In Canada here, you need to have confidence to be successful, I had to challenge my landlord here for him to sit up. He wanted to be funny because I am new.

3.You can change your program route; I have successfully changed here to research wink those profs that don't respond to emails do that because you are still in Nigeria.

4. Confidence!! Confidence!!! don't be shy to air your opinions, talk to strangers, crack polite decent jokes with strangers etc. I was cracking jokes with my supervisor and he was laughing!!!

5. Research here is no joke my first meeting with my supervisor; I was loaded but I think he did that deliberately to test me.

6. This place is too cold like really cold and they say this is summer; I wonder how the Winter will look like.

7. Just believe in yourself, you will survive. Don't worry about the money on you. You can get a job and hussle hard. I will be registering just one course this summer so I can hussle grin

Cheers Everyone. If you have concerns just quote my moniker, I may take some time to respond but I'll try.

Congratulations bro
Did you pay tuition before applying for your trv?

Hardly! If there is any issue with applicant's health or impending issue, the panel physician/hospital will advise further treatment first or not to apply(in case of upfront) and in some cases, IRCC will instruct further test for additional info.

No I applied recently, but I know someone whose application has been approved without a police report.

It is a requirement for nigerian applicants and it's part of documents to submit. However, we have seen cases where it wasn't necessarily important as people got their application approved without it.

So for standard procedure, police clearance is REQUIRED for both nigeria and country lived for more than 6 months. If one can get it fine, if you can't, it won't stop the processing of your application. If the visa officer deem it very necessary to submit, he/she will instruct the applicant to provide one.

Hello People. I have a scenario here. Perhaps someone can help out.
I am yet to receive an response (approval) from cic even though its still within processing time (14 weeks going) for a program with start date of May 8.
However, i plan to change institution as i have a preferred option (admission) in another province for August this year too. So meeting up with the initial mandatory registration and orientation procedure is not an issue. But i still need to get to the first school (if visa is approved) to effect the change of institution as well as get refund for 1st semester tuition. The refund deadline on their website is 19th May. i am worried that the delay may frustrate these plans and i dont want to loose money that has been paid. Although im still waiting but i considering the possibility of deferring the first program to buy time. Another issue is that i have previously deferred before and i dont know if that would be possible. Meanwhile, the other program starts in August. Pls what can i do?
pls I need advice

Why not chill till maybe 15-17th may, if a decision hasn't been made, you decide. Use this period to discus all possibilities with the school you paid fees to about defering again, they will best guide you.

Also note that you can change programs once you arrive canada. All these can only be achieved when your study permit is approved. So wait and take advantage of the time to get other options for yourself so you don't lose in totality. A decision hasn't been made yet on your application and your decision moving forward will be dependent on the outcome.
