Hi nairalanders, I've been having an argument concerning this: Do i call my father's step brother children my COUSINS or my STEP BROTHER/SISTER??

You can call them anything you want. Men calls each other brother but they are not from the same womb

There is a reason why each relation we have has a specific name be it on the maternal side or the paternal side. We don't have words for step anything. They are either your brothers , sisters , cousins ,aunt , uncle grandmother and so forth step denotes an outsider it's not an inclusive way of looking at family the way we do in our society.

Hmmm... You guys aren't related by blood and aren't really family in the real sense.

I think the step thing stops at brother/sister/father/mother, although some like to call their uncle/aunt's step child their 'step cousins'. Both cases look similar to me.
