Here is a clue: you can barely pay your rent, and so does she. Well, now you guys (as a couple) can share a place/rent etc, therefore support each other (as we know 2 is better than 1). When you are down, she can help get your spirit up; when you need to talk, she is there to listen without judging you; when you have nothing to eat, she will be there to share her meal with you.
