to the best of my knowledge, we still ve the northern Nigeria development commission(NNDC) which was established decades ago... so much for people who contribute nothing to the federation account. yet they wud want to kill a bill that advocate same for the SE,and u say we re one Nigeria?

The Ibos should also feel it. They ganged up with the North to say "NAY" to the bill seeking to grant special status to Lagos state despite their people spreading across the state like wild fire. Payback is a biatch!

The bill stands opposed!

Certainly this is a sign that indeed Nigeria is not a united country. It only shows that the agitation for actualization of Biafra is imminent.

People should be a little diplomatic . Igbos are screaming marginalization round the world , they bring bill for South east development, you kill it. You plan to borrow money for railways across the country and you exclude only South east. Any thing for south east is cancelled .. Believe it or not, you giving the world reasons to believe the Biafran agitators stories.

That's more reason why they should forget Biafra and participate actively in politics. Politics is a game of numbers and some level of deceit and compromise.

Igbos can never thrive in the politics of hatred and always feeling marginalized every time things did not go our way.
Politics is all about accord and concessions.
The other time the yorubas came out with a special bill for development of Lagos. Igbos in the house were in the forefront of people that killed that bill.
How do they want same people to support them this time.
When this bill for Lagos state was killed they took it and did not cry marginalization. Now, we are crying.
We will continue to lose as far as continue to play bad politics.
One thing out people in the south east have failed to realize is that PDP is using politics to destroy the south east. Suddenly people like Fayose, Fani Kayode and that one omokri all have became champions of Igbo cause.
Nobody threw away the lagos bill, stop lying, three state in Nigeria where added to it which better and will spread development in Nigeria,if other people flock to lagos now,you people will start shouting that they should go back to their regions, you people want everything to be going to lagos and non to other regions.
Fani Kayode, fayose,Reno are usual yoruba talkatives, they are champining any Igbo cause but for their personal interest, IpoB Biafra movement is doing so as clearly demostrated in may 30th sit at home.

you lose friends and support in your time of need.

Seriously why are the Igbos shouting?

They say they are "marginalized", they say they want Biafra; then the SE Senators should push for a Referendum for the core SE states na undecided

One thing is sure...you cannot expect assistance from those you love to hate!

I will give an honest analysis about the Igbos I don't want anybody to take it as tribalism but the truth.

Igbos need to stop shouting marginalization up and down why are they a major tribe in Nigeria. Are they not a Major stakeholder in the Nigerian project, Nnamdi Azikiwe was at the fore front with Obafemi Awolowo, Tafawa Balewa and Ahmadu Bello to get Nigeria her independence. They should wake up and take hold of the situation in Nigeria and get their fair share in the cake.

Ijaw considered to be a minority tribe are now very vocal and playing their politics right and not crying Marginalization.

Igbos should stop viewing everything like everyone is out to get them, we know the North has a born to rule mentality but we will not allow them to lord over us. We are all equal partners in Nigeria and we will take our share of the cake called Nigeria.

If any politician from Igbo extraction is arrested for corruption, ask yourselves first is he guilty or not stop justifying because some thiefs were left to escape in the past that means we must now allow all thiefs to go. We must start from somewhere if we are to get this country.

I am deeply ashamed. A prosperous southeast is a prosperous Nigeria, yet for some deeply rooted tribalism people do not want this bill. The south east and the Igbos are being marginalized. That's a bloody fact! we are supposed to counter their secession threat by giving them a sense of belonging and development projects, yet this government is making a Kanu a hero everyday. The APC are a disaster, a divisive party. It has never been this bad.

I just want to understand something. Why do South East need a development commission? The Niger Delta that have one, it is to ensure the area is better developed since the country get most of her income from there. The North East that have one is due to the insurgency. What special situation exist in South East to need special attention? What is happening in South East that is not happening in South West, North Central and North West? Thank you to anybody that answer this

There is no fair dealing in Nigeria, none at all.

Even Apapa road leading to the nations biggest port is in tatters and nobody in that region is crying marginalisation or hatred.

Why did lawmakers from the south east opposed the bill seeking to give Lagos a special status?

Why did the ibos join the gang up against Lagos state?

What harm will Lagos state special status do to the south east that they had to join the north to oppose it?

Karma is a biatch. They were all insulting Yorubas on that thread, but now crying marginalization. Lol. Serves them right, you cant put off the light of my candle and want to light yours. Never.

What does the ibos need the development commission for when they claim there are as developed as the south Westt? What special mineral resources are they producing that is ravaging their land apart from crude oil and coal? It seems they also want the north west and south west to bring their own bills.if they must create it,let it be from their own share of their igr or federal revenues.let the south east fund it and cater for it like the ailing northern nigeria development commission.the only thing the east suffers from is erosion menace and the ecological funds is providing for that.again, the landmass of the south eaztern states is very small which means that they csn easily develop their region faster than even the south west.the various town unions are doing a good job in providing basic infrastructure in ibo land, state govts should support them more.up apc,up buhari

Our people there were the most vocal opposition against that Lagos bill. They thought they were fighting Tinubu.
Politics is give and take. Knowing they are planning such a bill for the south east, they would have negotiated with the south west group. But in our politics of hate, they did not. The north will always divide the south to get what they want.
You are obviously a scar faced, ewedu guzzling and sneaky afonja, yet you are hiding your identity & trying fruitlessly to pass yourself off as an objecting Igbo man. RUBBUSH!

I don't know why those of us in the south keep saying the north have nothing , the north contribute nothing . That is a falsehood. We all know that more than 70% of the food consumed in this country apart from what is imported is produced in the north. The SE produce northing, the SW little. If the north stop supplying food to the south hunger will finish us. Look at what happened during the civil war, you expected your enemy whom you are fighting with to be the one supplying you food because the biafra don't have food.
You don't realise you gain anything from the north now until you have your own country and realise you can't eat and drink oil.
