I just did my own test now.

The questions are so easy. As easy as ABC but no time to answer them, this is so lugubrious and appalling.

AT a point, I was forced to guess the shit I would have easily answered under sane condition.

Is shell actually looking for robots?
because only robots can solve all these questions within that period of time,

cant wait for my own regret letter

You don't even need to practice anything.
I was killing myself reading my latest GMAT and even watching videos on aptitude tests, only for me to see very simple questions.

No need preparing, if there is anything to prepare for that should be on how to finish up the questions within the impossible 12minutes.

And most importantly, prepare on how to guess because you must guess if you must attempt all the questions

Hello OTI,

REF: 24117281

Thank you for your application and completing the online assessments.

This is a highly competitive programme with many people applying and, unfortunately, we won’t be taking you further in the assessment process at this time.

On this occasion there were other candidates whose results were a closer match to what we are looking for.

A future career in energy

We’re all constantly evolving and adapting, and if you’re still passionate about getting involved in our energy future, you can apply for the Shell Graduate Programme again in 12 months’ time. We welcome your continued interest in joining our team.

We’d like to hear from you – what did you think about our assessments? Were the instructions clear? What worked well and where could we improve? Give us some feedback by completing this short survey:http://sr.futurethinking-surveys.co.uk/GS1e

We wish you the best for your future. Thank you for considering us as your potential employer.

Warm regards,

Hello guys,

I joined Nairaland last week to contribute to the discussion about Shell Nigeria recruitment. I noticed there was some controversy about posting the questions that were asked. I'd like to suggest that discussion pertaining to company's recruitment as this one be done on a secured platform that cannot be assessed by everyone. I'd think there can be some secret groups in Nairaland? Everything discussed here is accessible worldwide, and that may be sufficient grounds to nullify the Nigeria recruitment.

That being said, the test this year was ultra-simple: it was addition, subtraction, series, for the numerical part; things about words and associations for the verbal part and simple patterns for the abstract reasoning. There was nothing bogus. I think the personality cognitive test (I don't know what it's called again) is the area that there is more emphasis on. Someone said the time was short. It was sufficient. But I think the surprise due to the simplicity of the questions can knock one out.

I was told that I did not go through, and quite frankly, I do not know what the company is looking for. And I don't care. If we are not compatible, why marry?

From my experience, therefore, give it your best shot and do it, but do not be too expectant. Be mindful that the turnover in the oil companies is high, and when you do get in, job security becomes an issue. I have seen cases where Shell fires very bright and promising staff. What is the criterion for firing? In fact, what is the criterion for hiring anyway? I'd encourage everyone to look at jobs in other sectors, and get the training necessary. It may be about passion when we just graduate, but find something to survive and build passion by doing it. If you can't build passion, at least have a foundation to build the career you desire. Look beyond Nigeria. There are other countries in Africa that may need skilled or trainable workers. Take the advantage.

I sincerely wish you guys the best. I've been looking for a job for some time now, and I know it can be demoralizing. Please do not lose hope. Keep preparing. When the time is right, it will click for each one of us. Shell is a great company, and so is Total, Exxon, Chevron, Access Bank, Google, P and G, Civil Service, etc.

Best!

Working styles assessment

Assessment Date: Development Tips 07 June 2017 The tips listed below are designed to give you advice on how to make the most of your unique personality and working-style, in order to achieve professional success. Creativity

The inclination to generate ideas, seek variety and think at a conceptual level.
It seems that you enjoy generating ideas and like variety at work. This can be useful in helping to solve problems and find new ways of doing things and you could seek out opportunities to apply this - perhaps even looking beyond your immediate area of work.

Assertiveness The tendency to confidently communicate ideas with a sense of purpose, take charge and persuade others. It seems you are capable of being assertive and persuading others to your way of thinking. Look for opportunities to leverage this at work, for example by being a spokesperson for your team, perhaps driving ideas forward and taking the lead where required.

Drive The levels of determination and passion shown in the pursuit of goals. You seem to be a driven person who strives to achieve.
Make the most of your determination by making sure you always have clear sight of the goal you want to achieve and by directing your energy towards this.

Dependability The capacity to deliver with accuracy and speed, utilising structure and forward planning to meet desired objectives. Supportiveness The desire and tendency to motivate, inspire and support others. Adaptability The capacity to display optimism, show resilience and 'bounce back' after setbacks.

Conclusion It seems that you like to plan well in order to meet your commitments and that you deliver reliably on agreed objectives. You should consider adopting tasks and roles where you can leverage this to help achieve shared goals and deliver good quality work - perhaps also sharing your planning skills with colleagues so that they can learn from your approach.

Your responses demonstrate that you enjoy motivating and supporting others. Think about how you might make the most use of this tendency and where and when it would be most useful to inspire others. Examples might include identifying a team member who is especially in need of support or times when you and your colleagues are facing tough challenges.
From your responses, it seems you can be resilient following setbacks. This could be very useful for working in environments where difficult situations might be faced by you and your colleagues.

We at Shell hope that you found the report helpful. Although it is by no means conclusive, it might serve as a good starting point for introspection and further exploration

Sorry for the regret mail bro.

I hope 4 days won't be the new norm. Maybe they've been following this thread and somehow found out that people were used to the 2 days, and so they've come with a new twist. Shell surely loves to innovate. grin

Success in your hustle bro.

Nothing stated.

But, If you are nonchalant like me, you may wear a Polo shirt.

If you are moderate, you may wear shirt and maybe tie.

If you are serious, you may wear a 3-piece suit with your shoes shined.

And if you are daring, you may wear Agbada.
