Doubt that. A shot gun cartridge does the exact opposite from a rifle round. The pellets disperse and cause entry damage over a wider area but because of this dispersal the penetrative energy is less than that of a rifle round. A rifle round on the other hand is typically tapered so the entry wound will be small and 'bloodless' (surgical). However the momentum of the bullet at close range the exit wound will be larger (in the magnitude of 4 to 6 times) due to the compressed column of tissue ahead of the escaping round. I can confidently tell you. That is not a shot gun footprint. At close range half his chest will be gone. At a wider range he will have multiple injuries but less deep, less traumatic and the man will rather die from blood loss than substantial tissue damage.

I agree. Yes, a bad economy, lax laws, poor enforcement, corrupt judiciary will lead of an increase in crime, but violent crime has nothing to do with this. Violence is sympomatic of a far deeper malaise than corruption and embezzlement by politicians or political leadership. I doubt it if these folks will be any 'nicer' in thier criminality if all politicians were to be in jail. Violent, person to person crime has spiked in no small measure partly due to the drop in physical cash in circulation due to the cashless policy of government, the spike in numerous low level armed conflicts all over Nigeria, the breakdown of most social structures and institutions and the apathy of all governments towards restructuring of the country. I'm afraid if goverment is not able to reverse these trends it will only get worse. The country has grown too complicated for the type of structure that supports it. Embezzlement as a sole factor is just too simplistic.

I totally get your point. Perhaps jungle justice should only be executed on those clearly caught in the act. In Ghana, a plain clothes soldier was lynched because he had his gun on him in a community ravaged by criminals. An innocent man doesn't deserve such a death.

He should have carried his ID card and uniform as well.

Earlier today I shared a story of a gang leader of kidnappers arrested in Onelga,Rivers while others escaped.More facts have emerged that two of the kidnappers were shot dead.Reports say they were difficult to kill because of their fortifications.
