Hello Everyone, Please I am new on this thread. I really appreciate all contributions in this house. I am currently preparing to apply this fall and I need help urgently . I was refused a study permit last year based on purpose of visit, insufficient fund and current employment situation.

I have admission from MUN, Msc Scientific Computing with 8,000(CAD) funding. I have B.Ed(Maths) and Msc Industrial Maths already. Currently, I have paid 5300(CAD) into my student account and also have 9000(CAD) in my personal account . My annual tuition fee is 3717(CAD). I am teaching at a senior high school now. My questions are

1. How should I fill the room and board, and the amount available for studies on the form considering the fact that MUN graduate school recommend an amount of 17,500 for a year's expenses for international students.

2. How can I address the reasons that lead to the refusal of my application.

3. Can I apply as self sponsored or I still need a co sponsor.

Please gurus in the house help your bro. With advice to get this TRV ooo.

As my process is going, I have a question, please don't mind if it has been answered before.
I gained admission into a college in Canada, the first semester school fees is already paid by me, now I have an a non relative who is willing to appear as my Sponsor, please how do I go about it especially since I have already paid my first semester tuition, is it posible for me to put myself and someone as sponsor all together?. I give God all the glory. He did it for me and he will surely do it for you too. Thank You so much Nairaland family, you guys are definitely God sent. Even the 'littlest' contribution helped me in packaging my documents, so no matter how small or irrelevant you think your contribution is, it will be of help to someone out there.

Also, I didn't write a Statement of Purpose because i felt my application was quite straightforward and writing a SOP could result to shooting myself in the leg while trying to explain things that needed no explanations.

When u get to Alagbon ask of inspector Mary from gate they will show u her office.

Unless u want to waste 10k or 15k u can go ahead.

Not everybody lives in Lagos so we have to take what we get.

Fill their names in the form and don't bother yourself too much bout their birth certificates.

Any thing that isn't liquid cash cannot stand as money available. It doesn't add to your financial strength.

At Austinpee4 please have concluded in using paper route. ...Please I didn't see the form they wrote if I have ever been deny a USA visa before. ....I have been deny USA twice. ...or I mine missing something out

The question is in the IMM 1294( application form) and it's under the background questions section.

"Have you been refused a permit, visa or asked to leave canada or any country before"
You should tick 'YES' in the appropraite box and then give a brief details '

' I have been denied a US visa in so so years'

So check the form very well, you will see the question on the 4th or 5th page.

Hometie and personal asset, Yes!.

Money available, certainly NO. Only liquid funds is available funds.

Only send what they requested for. If they needed police report, it would have also been requested for.

I would consider doing such, because in the future it might become an issue. Just have to get their exact dates of birth.

PERMIT ME TO GIVE THIS LONG POST

I have taken my time to write this Epistle to encourage my people.

FIRST APPLICATION: 27th of September , 2016 (paper route dint link it online as I felt it wasn’t necessary) MEDICAL MAIL: 17th of October,2016
MEDICAL DONE: 18th of October,2016 NO MAIL: Passport dispatched on the 30th of November,2016 PICK UP: 6th December, 2016. REASONS: Insufficient fund. SPONSOR: Dad (Biz man,3 personal accounts + mum’s account =about 7m, no tuition, CAC docs and personal tax)

ADMINISTRATIVE REVIEW: I heard about AMININSTRATIVE REVIEW and I decided to try my luck, wherein you will write them to kindly review your application as you believe there were some errors during the decision making . I did this through a lawyer and I paid 50k. The decision came out 23rd of January,2017…… saying should I have a different or additional documents to the earlier submitted I may wish to reapply.

NOTE: Administrative review can be done by yourself, you don’t need anybody not even an immigration lawyer. It’s just like writing another SOP.As every one’s case is different, you may try a REVIEW. All you need to do is write them a letter; it has a format because I made sure I collected the sample of the letter that was sent on my behalf. Some decisions after review turn out positive, but if you ask me it depends on your case/type of application(study, visiting etc) and maybe the way you write your letter. In ADMINISTRATIVE REVIEW, you don’t add new documents to the old one. The decision will be made based on the former and they may request for additional document, all at the discretion of the Visa Officer. I have seen 2 people whose Administrative Review turned out to a Passport Request and then Visa.
I applied for a deferral in my school it took over one month, finally the deferral came on the 14th of February and it was my final deferral with May start date. So I wrote the school and explained my situation to them that I’d prefer another start date. So a new letter was sent to me on the 16th with September start date, but still my last deferral.

SECOND APPLICATION: 24th of March,2017 (Naija cards were not going, so I begged someone to pay for me in Canada, so I gave him naira).
BIOMETRICS: 27th of March,2017.
MEDICAL REQUEST: I just decided to check my account on the 26th of May and saw we have requested a Medical Exam, check below for details(not sure of when it was updated as I did not receive any notification. And no medical form attached. Note: I just checked my account, not that I was notified to do so (this is to encourage Online applicants please always check your CIC account at least twice a week, you may never know when your account will be updated. And if you notice anything, please mail them ASAP. They are human(s) and they can make mistakes, even when the system is fully automated, mistakes are inevitable.

MAILS: Sent a mail to Accra and copied Lagos(29th of May) with a Snapshot of my CIC account. Lagos responded on the 30th of May, while Accra responded on the 31st of May that it will be resolved. Then I received a mail containing my medical form on the 2nd of June. I also dropped a Technical Report through my Online account with Snapshot of myCIC account and also filled a CSE form.(At least one would work).

MEDICALS: Went back to the hospital on the 6th of June to explain that I had done medicals before and its still within one year bla, bla, bla, bla, and I paid for re-documentation (did only capturing again) and also collected the medical slip.

MAIL TO ACCRA (8th of June): Since CIC have decided to treat my online application like a paper app. So I decided to respond to the earlier sent mail to me which came with my medical forms and told them to find attached the e-medical slip I was given at the Clinic and they responded it has been attached to my application and one day later they responded with another medical form (at that point, I was very sure they meant business).

MEDICAL PASSED on the 9th of June. Even when I was in doubt of how CIC would request for my passport, I just kept my faith that this testimony must be complete. Later on, I received another mail from IRCC saying they are looking into the issue I described in my mail and they would get back to me at the earliest.
10th of June: Saw an update on CIC website that you may have received an incorrect update on your account asking for medical exam or additional docs, but disregard as whatever is requested would be accompanied with a message in your account (Na so I weak oooo), but then I dint give up on GOD…..He won’t bring me this far to shame me. Later that day, I received a mail from IRCC, that my medical update is a technical issue, that it should have gone back to “if you need a med exam, we will send you a message” logged in but status still showing medical passed.

PASSPORT REQUEST: 15th of June .

CONDITIONAL LETTER OF ACCEPTANCE: Transcript and IELTS to be sent directly from test centre and my school to my proposed university in Canada .

SCHOOL: Concordia Uni

PROGRAM: Meng(Information Systems security). NO TUITION, NO FUNDING AND NO REQUEST FOR ANY ADDITIONAL DOCUMENT/PROOF OF FUND. BACHELOR’S DEGREE: Computer Science (I currently work as an IT OFFICER)

SPONSORS DOCS(My dad still): Corporate Statement of Account: sixty-five million naira(65m),CAC Docs with personal tax, Affidavit of Sponsorship, International passport data page(dint include his travel history, although I included it in my first app) Age declaration, Letter of sponsorship stating he had in time past sponsored my siblings for their masters and I am the last child and his only dependent, Letter of Introduction, 3 properties, Lawyers letter(Introducing himself as my family lawyer and stating and affirming all the properties in financial valuation.

PERSONAL DOCS: All my employment letters, letter of Recommendation at my place of work, leave acceptance letter(stating my start and end date with two million naira as my leave allowance which is only payable at the beginning of my leave in August), letter of recommendation from my department in school, Work ID, SOP(just the first I sent, I dint include anything)

SUPPORTING DOCS: Mother’s consent letter, siblings birth certificates.
The difference between the second application and the first is the statement of account (from personal to corporate, from paper to online),I dint include police clearance in the second app(no 5k to dash anybody in Alagbon), less properties document, I dint put my dad’s travel history, no mum’s SOA. I just based my second Application on LESS MUST BE MORE. I dint even request for GCMS, I based it on LOGISTICS (intuition).

TO ALL ONLINE ROUTERS, ALWAYS CHECK YOUR ACCOUNT AT LEAST TWICE A WEEK , BECAUSE I DINT GET A MAIL, I JUST CHECKED MY CIC ACCOUNT AND SAW “WE NEED YOUR MEDICAL EXAM,CHECK BELOW FOR MESSAGE” BUT NO MESSAGE NEITHER WAS THERE A MEDICAL FORM ATTACHED. SO I WROTE THEM WITH A SNAPSHOT OF MY CIC ACCOUNT. HENCE, A MEDICAL FORM WAS SENT TO ME TWICE BY MAIL.
Don’t allow anyone tell you otherwise, no application is perfect….but for the GRACE OF GOD. The most perfect Application can still be refused, why not invite GOD to show you and yours favor.

Overall, I think having few strategic documents in the application is better bulk of irrelevances which differentiates my two applications. Don’t let anyone tell you otherwise everything is possible with God…….there but for the GRACE OF GOD go all of US. I WAS REFUSED AND LATER GOT APPROVED. Please follow your dreams, don’t give up, and package your application well.

I wrote this testimony a day after BIOMETRICS and saved it on my system in the office, so was just updating as it evolved.
To all those who want to go to CBN Office to collect letter, Abeg stay in your house…..if the Visa Officer deems it fit, He’d ask for an additional document. Tuition payment isn’t a requirement, so I dint pay a dime, I dint add any letter from my bank not to think of the CBN circular. Make your app as simple as possible and let the VO ask for whatever He needs though it may tarry, but then the TESTIMONY is all that matters.
