What I gave you up there was a professional advice. I expected you to have looked those terms up on Google and their complications if left in untreated.

Meanwhile, you can see fine with them cos the good one suppresses the bad one during binocular vision. And suppression is the precursor of lazy eye. Why not take a simple test in your home...

Fixate at a distant sign board you can see comfortably with both eyes..

Cover one eye and look at same signboard

Cover the other eye and look at same signboard

Are the observations the same?

Or one eye appeared clearer than the other

Spend a day with an eye care specialist and you would how most patients beg doctors to help restore their eye sight... Eye sight they lost due to negligence... And you my friend are encouraging negligence but then you won't be there when she can't read beyond one hour because she would feel pains in and around her eyes.... Because you hold a PhD in Opthalmology, you have told her to relax that she would be fine based on your professional practices... Its alright dockay .... I am your boy... Can you mentor me please?

since, you are an authority in ophthalmology.... i guess you know better

so you are obviously right meanwhile what i have always known is that strabismic patients (whether it is congenital(from birth) or acquired)have low stereopsis (depth perception) and are always declined certain jobs (engineering,driving,piloting even threading a needle becomes a huge task) that require good depth perception....

but since you say no cause for alarm because of adaptation (the term you have been trying to use but you forgot) based on your profession as an ophthalmologist.. i would say, thanks for putting me in the right decision.. you are the best man...

in one of my studies (you know, like you said i read too much.. maybe, i should just treat my patients using trial and error methods and forget reading too much.. i mean who reading help sef?)..... depth perception was measured as illustarted in the pix below.. if you can let the tips of pencils touch with one eye closed... then you have good DP... strabismus patients always have this problem... but then what do i know... You the best man..

OP... you can decide to do anythg u like... but theres something called orthoptics (visual training).. most people dont undergo such training because they are ignorant of that.... just as guys exercise their muscles and it hypertrophy, the mis aligned eye muscles can be trained to look in the default and normal direction .. the beautiful thng about the exercise is that you can do it at home without visiting an eye care specialist if you can read articles on the internet on how you can go about it..... but under the guidance of an expert is recommended... i an assure you that within 3 months of carrrying out the visual training religiuosly... you would notice signficant change....

but our ophthalmologist Oluwaremythe may have a different approach

Stereotypical profiling and fallacious generalisation. You're going to get that a lot on Nairaland where people from different tribes fight e-battles, especially the three major tribes. In real life, everybody is good, the most part.

The guy's experiences have NOTHING to do with the ethnicities of those girls but with the girls themselves. He could have suffered same from any girl from any tribe. And we have more than a 100 tribes in Nigeria.

LOL, are you a medic?This one you are encouraging me.I am too slow when it comes to skills.Theory am good but demonstrating step by step, has never been my cup of tea.I was afraid to study nursing then fail my boards licensing exams because of skills.So soon as I got that letter to join the nursing program, I called it quits.Besides, it was my parents wish & not my own. Just because everyone seem to be going into medical careers & nurses make a lot of money especially as they proceed to degree & Master's level.Even with an associate's degree they still get a good pay.International relations has always been my passion.It's what am into now but still have quite a long road ahead.Need all the prayers & luck. grin

Not easy balancing work with school but again not impossible.Current situation.

You are right.Guess he just was unlucky.People from my tribe Kikuyu, which is Kenya's largest are said to be thieves.I don't remember stealing from anyone but I understand those stereotypes.It's just people from my tribe own most of the businesses.So one can't conclude that all girls from Edo or Anambra are the same.

Anyway,I really do wish I could be a nurse.They are living large here. Maybe, I'll take my savings, go back home,which am visiting in a few months time anyway,study nursing there & then return for boards licensing.Maybe African professors will help me get it well.LOL.Just kidding though, we all can't be healthcare practitioners.Thanks again & take care!
